Rainy Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Ta Ta Tuesday

Stitches come out and expanders get filled. I'll "fill" you in later on what that's like. The PA mentioned I might want to take a Valium prior to that. ? Does that mean it hurts or it's scary?

Sounds like a wet week for us in Denver. I love it. Don't have to use my own water to take care of the lawn and trees.

Hope everyone has a good semi-start to the week!

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

Ta-ta to the stitches, and hello-hello to the new ta-tas, eh?? I am curious---do they save the outside accoutrements to those ta-tas? Or does one then wear pasties? Sorry if this is too 'Enquirer-like' but I am really curious, in case I ever need to undergo such a remodeling. (Heaven forbid, but breast cancer does run in my family.)

It's another sunny day here in the sunshine state, and we did end up having a couple of 5 minute showers yesterday afternoon. It dried up nearly as fast as it came down, and I am hoping for more today. In the meantime, I am off to try to wash the mildew off the outside wall of the house in the shady side, and plant my new plants affectionately called "Mother-in-law" tongues or "Adders' tongues." Mother-in-law = adder? Hmph! Must be some other mother-in-law!

Liz, I hope you have a great trip north and that you are able to check in often so we know where you are and what the weather is doing. Congrats on your doc appointment results! Keep a wary eye to the skies. I plan to leave in about two weeks, if those danged tornadoes take a break. Otherwise, it is all dependent on the weather situations.

Carolina Carol, sorry to hear about your washer problems. My Maytag washer at home has been going strong since 1977----it's a top-loader, and I never want to deal with one of those supposedly 'better' front loaders. I have an equally aged Maytag down here that my service man managed to repair from leaking, and it, too, is doing a wonderful job.

I hope you all will have a nice day wherever you may be, or, if it's not nice weather, that you find something fun to do inside. Happy Tuesday to all.

Glad things are progressing for you, Ladyhawk. Hope the Valium proves to be unnecessary.

Wow Sarah (from yesterday's post), what a stressful time you've had lately. So glad your niece was not seriously injured. Does the DNA park allow dogs? If so, maybe we can check it out when I'm there.

Two drs. and one bloodwork down, one and one to go. Saturday is launch day for me, and none too soon because Wed. is predicted to be the hottest day of the year so far. I'm feeling that humidity.

Soos, I'm really impressed at how nonchalant you are about your return trip towing. Even though you don't like it, your confidence has grown, and you know you can.

Hope the weather calms down soon and that everyone avoided the worst of it. I'll be checking the forecasts along my route.

Good luck today, Amy. Had numerous friends that had expanders for reconstruction. They did say that it could be uncomfortable and slightly painful depending on how much expansion was done each time. As you know, we all have different tolerances-mine is nil  However, they all said it was worth it and loved their new stand-up Ta Ta's
Lost my set of keys to the Toyota and MH. Replacement cost is over $100 each  Seems as though they have a special code embedded so they can't be duplicated and can only be made at a dealership. Don't have much choice, though-don't like being without a 2nd pair.
Weather is great here, cool in the evenings and mornings and warming up during the day. Hope all of you in the storm's path are ok and everyone has a good day. carold

Good morning to all for the second time - poof went my post and of course this time I forgot to copy it first. Oh well probably because I got so excited when the sun made a brief - all too brief - appearance this morning. It has been raining, raining and raining here with lots more in the forecast. All the towns around us are preparing for flooding. Glad we're up on the hill. Finally saw a couple of deer this morning, first we've seen since we've been home. So will throw some corn over the fence out in the back woods today.
Had to run to the teeny town about 2 miles from the house to buy stamps this a.m. When I talk about the teeny town it is Helmsburg pop about 150 but it has a post office, the tiny town is Nashville about 5 miles away with a pop about 950 and the real towns are Columbus 20 miles to the to the east and Bloomington 20 miles to the to the west - both about pop 30,000. But now to go into either of them it will cost about $8 in gas round trip! Just paid our house taxes they more than doubled this year from last. That was a shock. Almost as much as we were paying in Nevada. And the insurance for Jennie and both cars came due for the year. And to aded insult to injury the credit card we used for gas and RV parks coming back across the states came in. Lots of beans and weinees this next month.
Talked to all of our remaining sons this weekend - more about why later - found out the one in Vegas is moving into a different house. One of the ones in LA just got back from a 3 day cruise to Baja and before that had a harrowing experience while flying. He flys a small plane and just as he was getting ready to land he was hit by a big wind gust that blew him over the runway. He managed to keep his cool and power up and go around and land safely. Its always nice to find these thing out after the fact. His girlfriend said she was silently crying by the time they landed. And that he was sweating. I bet.
My new computer and I - like we needed that expense but got lucky on it - happened to go into Best Buy yesterday for a cord and discovered it was on sale so I got $42 refunded to me - any way we are starting to get along okay and the Internet has been actually working even in the bad weather - wow!
Hope everyone stays safe for the next few days until this mess of bad weather passes.

GOOD Morning... rise and shine please sun do that for me... ugh another day of rain... I should have stayed another month in Fl... now I tell me... :?
Oh my Sarah what a time you have had... I was hoping things had gotten better but I guess you will have to wait till May then maybe things will be better... not a happy Easter for sure...
My dishwasher and fireplace are all fixed now... that is a good feeling as I do have a sink full to put in this time it will work... had to hand wash the other load... now you would think that was fine after washing dishes for 5 months in the MH but wanted a break from that...
One of my trees that was planted last year has pink flowers on it... there are not many as the tree is young but I can see how pretty it will be in a couple of years...
Amy hope the visit with the doctor does not bring much stress... sometimes the valium just relaxes you so you will not be tense...
Liz I do wish you safe travels... I am sure Angela will miss you... what fun you two had kayaking... glad for your good reports...
May some of you have sun for the day...

I will be thinking of you today, Amy, hope its not too much of an ordeal, and that all goes well for you. Can't think of another r.v. forum that would have Ta Ta's as the title of their morning thread. Loved it !!! You're in my prayers today.

This weeks weather for this area and west of here, DOES not sound good. Hopefully its going to settle down and come to an end soon??????? Probably just as well that you aren't starting north until Sat. , Liz. I think its really going to be bad, I had thoughts of wishing I could hide somewhere

Hoping everyone has a really good day, need to get on to more of my cleaning. Just in case you all think the whole house is getting its Spring Cleaning, its not :) May be next winter when some of it gets its turn  Have a call into the plumber, to fix my outside leak, really don't want to go to church, Wed. night in my green (pollen covered) car. Wish he would call back, noon, its supposed to be storming and I'm hoping he can at least come by tomorrow morning. Oh well, what I want and what I get are usually two different things, so on to my day.

Have a good one, stay safe everyone and those in the stormy area, take care
CArol :)

The front that I though was coming through on Wednesday came through here about 5 this morning with rain, thunder and lightening. It should cool things off for a few days. I hope we got some rain at home.

Harold's first therapy this morning was to take a shower and get dressed. It wore him out. I told him that's what laying around for a week will do to you.

Carold, I think those new keys with the chip in them are a rip off by the dealerships. I went throught the lost key thing with my son. The Honda place wanted $30.00 for the key blank and $30.00 to program it. I watched the tech do it and it didn't take 5 minutes. They put in a new code so if you find the old key it won't work and it's another $60 to get the 2 keys programed again. I have been reading a lot of auto web sites because we are looking for a new car and I read somewhere that some locksmiths can do it cheaper. Worth checking with one if the dealer wants $100.

I haven't seen Echo post in a while. Maybe they went back to work and I missed it.

Rain rain go away!!! The sun actually came out briefly awhile ago but is gone again. I don't mind clouds just please no more rain! Our power went out Sunday just as we were getting ready to go to a wedding. Our new generator came right on and worked well except all of a sudden in the kitchen we got a strange electrical smell it finally went away but DH stayed home until the power came back on just to be sure nothing smoldering in wiring somewhere. He did get to the wedding in time for the buffet and wedding cake :D
I have a Maytag washer/dryer stack and love it, but bought it in '98 when they were still being made in the good ole USA. Maytag closed the plant in my hometown and put hundreds of people out of work and of course opened a plant in Mexico. So, those of you having trouble might want to check where yours is made or if you need new ones ask where they are made.
There are many towns and areas around here that are flooding and the rain isn't over yet, or the storms. Thanks for the sunshine Kathleen!

Amy, sure hope you took the Val and relaxed out for your doctor's visit.

We could certainly use some rain down here in Texas. They have issued a 'burn alert'. That is the same as a storm alert but for fires. No fires allowed anywhere. There is supposed to a front coming through tonight and temp is to go down by 20 degrees for the night time. They say it will be in the 50's. Also said that storm trackers may be alerted. Need to be ready to pull out of the RV park in the morning.

Need to wash the front of my rig before I hit the road tomorrow. It is coated with sea salt sand. Can't wash the whole thing but can the front and windows on the sides.

Went to Galveston today and was going to pick up drinking water at WalMart....this cg water tastes awful....but Galveston has had a 'major water line break' and are on rationing water. I expect that there is a line out the door or the water shelves at WalMart are empty. Needless to say, I came back to the rig after I finished at the Credit Union. Okay need to go get my coffee out of the car and then get some lunch.

Hope everyone on the road is safe, if you are in a cg have fun and stay safe. Everyone watch your weather. Those of you in flooding areas, get a kayak!

sure am glad I copied that cuz it went to lah lah land.

Good Morning Ladies,

A rainy morning here at the 45th. Supposed to rain most of week, but we need it. Temps are staying fairly mild for the most part, but it is a bit of a chilly damp out there this morning.

Yesterday I worked out in my yard all day, blowing away the winter debris from my backyard and a couple of other spots, raked my mulch to loosen it up from being packed down by the snow, picked up some stick and twigs and then ran my tractor with the dethatcher hooked up, over the whole yard. Now the grass is really greening up since the rain is soaking down into the freshly loosened dirt. Felt like a farmer pulling his disc harrow as I went along. The robins were having a ball hopping around in the areas I had been through, pecking at whatever they found in the dethatched grass.

Today is my last day before I return to work in the morning. So this will be my last Morning coffee post for awhile. So you "retired" ladies can now take over and start the coffee in the mornng. Us working stiffs have to be off to work so we can earn some bucks to buy coffee  That is if we have any money left after filling up the gas tanks these days  . Gas just rose to $4.17 here yesterday  I may very well be spending next winter right here in my house, blowing out the snow etc. as it might get cost prohibitive to head south.

Sarah, so sorry to hear about your neice. I guess the only good thing that came out of it was that she hit the brick wall and not another oncomng car and nobody was hurt or killed. Is this the first time that has happened? Prayers heading her way and for you and your sister too.

As to the Maytage washers. I replaced both a washer and dryer that were 20 years old. Both Maytags. We have had Maytags for years and never had any issues with them. The new washer I now have is a front loader and it does make a bit of a humming and clunking noise as it goes through the various cycles, but nothing that's bothersome of for that matter even noticeable unless you are right next to it. I think front loaders tend to make a bit more nosie than the top loaders. I'm very happy with both washer and dryer. And I recently replaced a Maytag stove that was 24 years old and finally starting to wear out. Loved that stove. It performed so well. Would have replaced it with another Maytag but the new ones were way more expensive then I wanted to pay. So bought a new GE and love it. Ssorry you ladies are having problems with yours.

So I am off to do a bit of house cleaning here this morning and then will head up to town to bank, a bit of shopping and of course put some gas in my truck. And going to stop at RV dealer to see if I can bring my TT in on Saturday for dewinterizing. They can work on it inside whereas I can't get at it, due to chilly weather and rainy week etc, plus work and so forth right now. Yesterday would have probably been a great day to have done that, but wanted to get the yard work done before the rains came, so I can play now that spring is here. Neighobr and I were talkng about summer camping trips we want to take. She has some reservatins made but said the same thing I did, we won't be heading out on really long trips. She has two girls and the family loves to camp and meet new families etc. We are very fortunate in that we have so many places we can go within an hour or less drive of home here.

Hope you all have a good day. If you are on the road, travel safe in all this rainy, stormy weather.

Well, I didn't copy and so my post went into cyberland and I'm wayy to lazy to retype it all.
I will echo what you all have said in encouraging Amy during her Ta Ta expansion procedure. I'm sure it will be achy for a bit unti the skin gets stretched. Then they will do it again! ;)
Sarah, prayers for your niece. Carol, still keeping your family in prayer, and Martha's husband. Oh, I'm sure I'm missing someone, but God knows where to direct my prayers. :D
