Monday morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Monday morning

Postby Colliemom » Mon Apr 25, 2011 6:53 am

A Good Monday morning to you all,

Well, for some it might not be the favorite day of the week, cause it means back to work for another week  I hope you all had a wonderful Easter Sunday yesterday. It was indeed a glorious day here. It was sunny with just a few clouds and no wind. A perfect day. A day to enjoy and shake off the blues of winter. The birds were singng in the trees, the grass is greening up, the snow is gone, the last of the lakes are now ice free, the temps are slowly warming up. It feels wonderful. :D And my first day of having Chocolate since Ash Wednesday :D

I went to mass at 9 a.m., and being that we have a bit more ritual on Easter Sunday than other Sundays, mass was an hour and a half long roughly. So, we when got out, the folks were coming in for the 11 a.m. mass and promptly created a traffic jam in the parking lot, cause there were more folks than normal, hence more vehicles than normal. Took me 10 minutes to get out of there. Cars got backed up so cars trying to back out of parking spaces couldn't move and of course cars coming in couldn't come in cause there was no place for them to pull in and park. But we finally got untangled slow but sure.

The friend I invited came over after she got home from her church services and we had a nice afternoon. She has a lively black lab who kept us entertained. We took all three dogs for a nice walk through the woods for about an hour and then I fired up the BBQ grill when we got home. I made a NY Strip steak, she made a ham steak with pineapple. Also had corn on the cob, cottage cheese and a salad. Dessert was Angel Food cake with strawberries and whipped cream. So all in all it was a nice day. After she left, I took my girls for a little walk along the beach as it was such a nice evening out.

So today is to be the last nice day for the next week roughly. Rain moving in late tonight and will continue on and off all week. Temps will be in 50's and maybe low 60's for the most part except for one day when it might cool down a bit. But the rain will help spring really burst forth. So guess I get to spend my first work week playing in the rain. Today I am going to play outside with the leaf blower, the rake and maybe the dethatcher. Be a good time to run that over my yard so the rain can soak down into the soil and help the grass get going.

So guess it's time to get with it around here. Can't wait to get outside and get busy. It has been so long since I have worked in the yard. Although I would much rather be hitching up that TT and heading off, it isn't going to happen. Have a wonderful day all.

Good morning all. Hope you had a beautiful Easter. Mine started a bit rainy in the mountains, but the weather got better as we drove down along those windy roads. Actually, it all had that fresh green look that the world gets after a spring rain which seemed appropriate on Easter Sunday.

Had a lovely long weekend in Horizon Seeker with 2 good friends and although we had some strong weather Friday night and Saturday morning, there were enough breaks of sunshine to make it an overall good time. Last night as I was finishing up new entries on my blog I got a call from my big brother near Atlanta. My SIL is in the hospital with congestive heart failure. I am on pins and needles waiting to see what the tests show today. I have 4 brothers, but Mike is the one I am closest to even though he is 10 years older. He and Linda have been married since 1967 and they are just so perfect together. It will be hard to concentrate today at school. She's in a good hospital with good cardiac care so I take my comfort there.

Ah well, an extra cup fo chai this morning and relief in knowing only 5 more Mondays for me here. Have a good day all.

Good morning everyone!

We had a beautiful day yesterday at the campground with lots of sunshine and warm temperatures. Why is the day we go home always the nicest day weather wise?

We started the day off by attending the 6:30 sunrise service at the campground led by 4 pastors from area churches. Eighty-eight people attended.

Then we went back to our site to make breakfast consisting of sausage, fried potatoes & eggs.

We had storms that rolled through our area last night. I woke up 11:30 because of the storms and wasn't able to go back to sleeping because they kept lingering. I've been trying to get my second wind by sipping on cold water, but so far to no avail.

Take care everyone and have a good day.

GOOD MORNING ALL!

Molly and I got up early, packed up, and we're now back in Orlando. I've found all the stuff I was missing when I left here, including the latest vaccination paper for Molly, watered all my plants, and put in a load of laundry. I am devastated to discover that, although I took what I wanted from the freezer in the trailer, I forgot the refrigerator part----2 pounds of wonderful Win Dixie chicken salad, and my hardboiled eggs to make egg salad. I am so mad at myself. To drive all the way back there would be insane at the price of gas, so I guess I'll just call the kids and tell them they have a bonanza to eat in the trailer! Sigh----I was really looking forward to a chicken salad sandwich.

I am slowly but surely gathering all the stuff I will need to pack in the trailer for the trip home. Most of it is already there, as I am leaving a ton of stuff right here in the house for next winter, including my canoe and my bike. I will need to take the generator again, in case I stop just in a parking lot for the night with no electricity. I am dreading the trip, as you might well-imagine, but I guess I have to at least try it on my own.

Hope you all are into some nice weather for a change, although the center of the country still looks very dangerous. We wary out there in travel-land.

Morning all. Left Benson yesterday and tGM decided to turn north instead of continuing west. Sorry, Sharon. Couldn't convince him to try SoCal. We've landed in Cottonwood, 20 miles south of Sedona. Weather is great and we're going exploring and hiking today. Don't know how long we will be here, but that's usually the case when traveling and definitely the bonus of being retired and having our home on wheels. Bob's happy that he has something interesting (to him) to blog about  Hope all turns out well for everyone today. carold

This morning I took care of some more dishes from the MH and the dishes that I had to wash by hand ugh thought when I came home I had a dish washer but sadly it is not working... always things to do and fix...
I hope you all have the wind at your back this day...

Sounds like everyone enjoyed their weekend. Sorry about your dishwasher, Kathleen. There's always something. Sue glad you're finally getting some warm spring weather, even if you do have rain in the forecast. Horizonseeker, I said a prayer for your SIL. Soos, when are you leaving for the north? I plan to leave Saturday & get as far as the panhandle.

One dr. down today, two to go. Cardio dr. says looking good, see you in 6 mos. That'll be $$$$.   In 6 mos. I'm going to tell him, "See you in a year!"

Hope everyone can steer clear of storms today.

Seems like it's that time of year. The snowbirds are starting to move. We have been having T-storms and possible tornado activity for the last 2 days. So far so good, only the T-storms all day. Now we have added flooding to the list. Goes with the territory.

Kathleen, my dishwasher has also decided to misbehave. I have noticed that if I use another setting it will work. I usually use the normal setting for the full wash and that is the one that is not working now. I now either use the pots and pans setting or the water miser setting. Both are working properly and leave the dishes clean. Worth a try before having a repairperson in or getting a new one now.

To all sistahs traveling, stay safe and to all take care. Linda

Good morning all!
I dropped Sophie off yesterday with her previous owner, Ginny. She seemed happy to be there and was exploring around the trailer (5th wheel) outside. I think she missed being able to be outside. This morning I got a text from Ginny saying Sophie was very happy to be back home and doing very well. So glad to hear that, knowing how miserable she seemed here lately.
Lola still thinks Sophie is here lurking somewhere. It will take awhile for her to finally realize she has me all to herself.

Gotta get laundry done today before heading back to work, and also start packing. Looks like it will be sunny in Mpls on Thurs/Fri with highs in the low 60's, rain and cooler over the weekend, and then back to sunny and upper 50's Mon/Tues. So not too bad.

Better get started on my laundry! Hope you all have a good day!

Its not a Happy Monday here, was for awhile. The sun is out and it really is a pretty day, and warm. Storms moving in , in the middle of the week. But that isn't my problem. My washer finally died, poor thing, lasted since 89, so I can't say anything bad about the poor thing. I bought a new one, Maytag, well, its got more lights and bells then I wanted and I also find that each cycle has its own little noise, or loud noise you can hear all through the house. Now, I am not sure I will adjust to this, afraid I will have to, but that isn't all. I decided was time to turn the outside faucets on, can't, have a leak, pollen all over both vehicles, house, decks everywhere and I have to call a plumber before I can wash any of it.

Until I discovered the washer was loud and then that I had this leak outside(again) I was having a nice day. I have finally decided to do some spring cleaning, not sure which spring it was last done :o  ;) :P Didn't realize it needed it so bad either, my eyesight isn't what it used to be and of course, I didn't really look either  I really have been enjoying doing it, of course, I am throwing junk out as I clean and that makes it more fun. I am finding I have some empty places around, thats nice, I am so sick of clutter.

Now that I have vented and been able to rant somewhere I do feel better. Having this stuff happen and no one knows the inconvience or flustration you are going through is actually worse then the bad things happening. So now back to cleaning the dining area. My alergies have been kicking up and you know what, I think it might be some of these layers of dust I have been finding

I hope you all are having a great day, hopefully some fun for some of you, those traveling please be careful, bad weather in some of the states, moving this way. So take care, and thanks for listening to me, I feel better LOL. Now if this will go that will be good, but if it doesn't I'll know it wasn't meant to be suffered through reading by anyone.

Well I have long since missed morning but it has been a while since I checked in so thought I would here.

We've had 3 near perfect spring weather days including the Easter weekend. Storms on the way tomorrow and Wednesday; already have a flash flood watch out for next 48 hours and it hasn't even started raining yet. News reported we are almost 4 inches above normal for April and there is a whole rainy week ahead.

I have been sick much of the month with respiratory problems but finally feeling better. Also started physical therapy on shoulder last week. Can't tell it is helping yet but probably too soon to know. Two sessions set for this week.

My Easter was spent at emergency room as niece wrecked my sister's car around noon. It appears she suffered a grand mall (?) seizer while driving and she has no memory of the accident. She was released last night with orders for several more follow up tests. Fortunate that no other serious injuries as the car was totaled plus about $2000.00 to property (hit a brick wall and ended up nose down in ditch). Needless to say, sister is not taking this well.

Was late when I got home but sat on porch with Nicky for a while. The frogs were singing loudly and helped ease some of the days stress. Thnk I'll try that again tonight, just earlier.
Today has been uneventful - a good thing.

Did you know that today is International DNA Day? Huntsville has a new park featuring a mile plus long double helix genome walkway and will hold our celebration there. To see photo go to

I haven't been yet but it looks interesting and is on my to do list.

I'll rant with you about my Maytag washer. When we rebuilt my DH wanted me to buy my washer and dryer from a local dealer we know. I wasn't paying attention when I ordered them and ended up with apartment size. I wanted to stack them so I would have some floor space in the utility room so got a front loading washer. I find that it is really loud and slow and my DH complains about it all the time and he is hard of hearing. I have had to have the door replaced twice in 5 years because the plastic over the hinge keeps breaking and the door falls off. No one touches the thing but me and I know I don't put any weight on the door. I think the door is too heavy for the hinge.

Sarah, I sure hope your niece is going to be OK! How scary! Is she prone to seizures or was this something new?
