CONRATULATIONS, KAREN, on the sale of your house! I will have to agree with you that having a 'nest' from which to fly and to which to return is very nice. I moved so many times when I was a baby and young person that I never really had a chance to have a room to call my own, before we moved again. After this next long haul home with my trailer, I am hoping I will appreciate it more as a 'nest' on wheels, and one I can feel more comfortable hauling between my winter and my summer rooted house, and also one I will feel more able to haul short distances to explore other campgrounds. This first year of retirement has been an experiment for me, mostly, and one I have loved. I just really don't like hauling long distances alone, any more than I like camping alone. I have had the best of times this winter, as I could be in my own little 'nest on wheels' at my son's property, and then still have this neat house to return to and work around the yard. I don't need to mow, trim, go to the dump, treat my own pool, and yet I have the advantage of all those services. I also have nice neighbors all around down here, unlike the few good friends I have back at my northern home who live miles away.
Anyway, I think it's interesting to try things and see what we really enjoy doing. And, as we are all still very active and adept persons, we also change as we move along! It's fun reading about other people's thoughts and ideas and life's journeys.
