Damp, Wet Saturday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Damp, Wet Saturday

Good Morning all,

Well, looks like I'm the first one up, so since I an not a coffee drinker, I can offer hot tea or cocoa this morning. Feels good on this chilly damp morning. Had a nice rain during the night and it is now starting to part from the area. Supposedly supposed to be a nice afternoon, but a bit windy, so will keep the temps down a bit. Tomorrow is supposed to be the best day for the next serveral as more rain and a slow moving front are coming in on Monday. But warmer temps as well. So looks like I will be heading back to work in the rain on Wednesday. That's okay as we will be working inside the buildings, not heated of course, but out of the weather anyway.

Not much on the agenda here today. Going to do some work in the TT. The last coat of stain on the wood pieces for the door cutouts is on and drying. Then will apply the poly probably late tomorrow. In the meantime I am going to attach the door closures to the two doors that are ready for them. Need to get some door knobs for them, but will do that next time I am at Lowe's.

With a whole week of rain moving in, a garage sale going next week again, the which of I will be popping in and out of on Saturday, I am giving thought to taking my TT to the dealer near me here and having them dewinterize it. I won't be able to do much this week with the rain, once that stops, I need to get some mulch and get that spread around the house and a few trees to freshen it all up, run the dethatcher over my yard, blow and rake up the back etc. Plus the girls are going to want their evening walks after being in all day waiting for me to come home. Want to get the yard work under control, so I can start to play on my days off. Eventually the grass will get to a point where it will need cutting etc. So I'm thinking that dewinterizing would be once less thing I have to do. Shall see. Could start doing some today. Have to find my namual and see what I need to do. It's buried in the closet along with all the stuff I took out of the trailer last fall.

Oh yeah, I've kind of gotten to calling my TT "Rocky" since it's a Rockwood. The truck is "Big Red". So I'm running around with Big Red and Rocky.

So guess I will get busy around here. Dishes need to be washed. bed made and I want to get dressed and get started. Have a wonderful day all. Spring is here, enjoy.

I am one happy camper these days and hope the smile lasts. I'm so happy, the fuel prices aren't even ruining it. Then again, haven't been to the pump yet.

My conversion van went in yesterday morning to get the passenger seat removed and a roof top AC put on. A few hours later, they called me to tell me it was ready. WOW.

I have a trip planned for mid May and they told me that I had the option of pulling my MH out of the shop and bringing it back, if I so desired.

I told them "nope..gonna take the van". I really don't want to take the rv until they are -completely- finished even though the parts they are waiting for aren't anything that would impact safe travel.

This is going to be quite an experience in the van. I hit my head yesterday twice just looking at the work they had done.

In my moment of great joy (or head injury) , booked my reservations for the Arkansas GTG.

Today, its the moment of truth. Will the van fit into my garage? The garage door height is -suppose- to be ten feet. The van, with roof top AC is now nine feet. If the van does not fit in the garage, it can not be parked on that property due to HOA rules. I currently have the van at my beach house, with trike loaded in it.. ready to go take a look at the garage.

Its a beautiful day here but I really wasn't in the mood to ride my trike when getting up this morning. Then I got on the scales. Hmm.. seems like the auto free exercise program is working. Next thing... I'll have to start my own infocommericials selling the trike fitness program. I can see it now... a herd of folks on trikes, all claiming they lost a gadzillion pounds while playing in traffic.

Everyone have a great day!

We had a really loud night here, storms moved through off and on all night so I'm a bit bleary eyed this morning. I even let little Winnie in bed for awhile till the worst of one particularly loud one was over, but put her back down as she still is sometimes using her paper during the night. This is supposed to go on for the rest of the week and we're going to a wedding tomorrow afternoon at one of the local wineries hope if was planned for outdoors the rain holds off for that event. Also my friend from FL is here, I hope, for the week. She was to come in Friday and I'm not sure which airport she flew into, Lambert Field in St. Louis had to close last night due to having storm damage to the terminals and parking areas.
Not much planned today, will see if my one dress that I own still fits and look through my shoe closet for semi dressy shoes. To me that means not my Birkenstock Arizona style sandals, my feet gave up heels many years ago.
The dogs all want their breakfast so time to oblige them. I hope everyone has something fun planned for the day, I'm going to help dye Easter eggs for the kids egg hunt at the Fellowship tomorrow. Wonder if DH would go and paint some really interesting ones. He has made them in the past and they are beautiful but it is hard to drag him from his studio. Guess I could take my watercolors and try my hand at being creative.

Good hot and humid Texas morning! It's been overcast ALL week but not a drop of rain. That's bad as we stand at 30% of normal precip here. My eggs are boiled but not dyed, waiting to do that with DGD.

Alice, so exciting about your van!!! I hope it fits!!! Have a great time on you first adventure!

BJ, you mentioned watercolors, did you do the paintings in your sig line? I am very excited to learn watercolor, thinking about a sketch journal, ink and watercolor are so beautiful.

Sue, yikes, work on Wed?!? hope you are looking forward to it!

Golf clinic canceled for this morning, maybe due to holiday week-end, so am a bit up in the air, nothing else planned. Need to start finding something fun to do! Have a great day!!!!

Morning,

Wendy, great news on all your RV repairs. Have fun camping, too.

We are go get up to 70 today!! It was really nice yesterday, too, but still in the low 60s. Then tomorrow, back to wet and cool.

This afternoon I'm taking all the paraphernalia up to my GD's house to color eggs. This AM they are going to an egg hunt and then a soccer game at noon. I'll show up after that. My DD is probably boarding a flight right now, in San Diego, going to Cabo, MX. and back. She has been doing that for 4 days and then will fly back to Portland and home tomorrow night. She's not a happy camper but couldn't get rid of the trips. No one else wanted them and the only other trips were to Fairbanks and back! ;) Such is the life of a flight attendant. She has to bid EVERY month on trips and then cross her fingers she gets them. After that she is able to trade with other attendants.

Nothing else planned except a grocery run.

Enjoy your day!
On Edit: just heard from my niece in Illinois. She and her friend are leaving on Monday, heading my way!!

As usual, you ladies were right. Going back to work last week was a bit rough. I should have just done half days, but oh well. Hopefully, I'll listen better next time. (Remember last year when you told me 16 hours of driving over two days was too much? Did I listen? No. Did I suffer? Yes.)

I'm planning to behave myself and just focus on homework this weekend since this class ends in less than two weeks. I promise to ignore the dog hair on the rug and the laundry waiting in the basket. And the interesting mystery novel calling my name.....

A little chill in the air and expecting some precipitation here this afternoon. Expecting a wet Sunday, so it's good we're doing our egg hunt inside.

Wishing you all a happy Saturday!

No Diana, the dogs pictures are Mitch's creation, I sent her the photos and she put it together for me. I mostly do landscapes all sort of smudged around. I got mad one time when DH told me I couldn't have an opinion on art because I wasn't trained when he took me to an art opening an I said I didn't like some of the work. Well I told him I wanted to paint so he gave me old dried up watercolors and some on his old brushes. Not too long after I heard him and another Professor talking, she had seen my work and said she would let me in grad school. So I entered a juried show and my work was accepted. I had no training I just picked up the brushes and messed around until I got the feel of the paint and amount of water. I seldom paint any more though but I enjoyed it for awhile. Here is one of my watercolors.

This is a vase turned into a lamp that my DH did several years ago. He painted on pottery for awhile but went back to his watercolors and acrylics. The writing on it says Slow dancing with Matisse. Opps thought I uploaded the other side where the writing is.It is so much harder for me working with the pictures on this Mac.

I'm on the road today...on my way back to FL for dr. appts. next week. Dd is doing well except for a little pain and swelling. Her wrist & hand is casted for 2 weeks, then will have a brace. Finally convinced her to use the prescribed pain meds and not try to "tough" it out.

Just saw Jed's update....will have you both in my prayers today, Laura. Been following Jed since puppyhood, so he's special to me.

Sorry you can't make the AR gtg, Vickie. You will definitely be missed. I'll plan to make my reservation this week.

Need to take Bandit out for exercise and then get back on the road. 7 hour drive today, with still probably 5 to go.

Good Morning from a cloudy sunny day here in Normal... will be in the low 60 which is much better than the chill... I have been smugly l putting the dishes in the dishwasher... sure missed that in Bright Hope... put the pellet in the slot... shut the door and oops the motor just buzzed... yikes no dishwasher how ever will I live... so did them by hand and until it is fixed will not use so many dishes...

It felt so good to be home... I went to Good Friday service at church last night... Tim came and walked with me and I sat with Pete and Scott also... such nice young men they are becoming...

Today I must see if the post office is open so I can get my mail... have been lax about getting out... to much cold and rain here...

Drive safe Liz, Sue you will be glad for the routine of work again... Alice glad you got the van/camper back hope it operates as you would like... take it easy Amy recovery is slow as you get older... everyone else have a great day...
