Confess.. who did it?

I went to the geocaching.com site to check out geocaches at the GTG's state park. Lo and behold.. there are only two at this park and one of them....

Someone recently put a dead fish in it.

Okay guys.. who did it?

Apparently, whoever placed this geocache thought it best to put it out in the open. What were they thinking? Its constantly vandalized with contents taken. Don't think anyone took the fish though.

There is the Great River Road/Trail or something another.. lined with geocaches. Need to look at where the state park road and that hook up... to see if any of it can be done by foot or bicycle.

If Wendy is charging a buck for seats to watch her back in.. then I have to raise my rates. The R on the Allison six speed transmission and I are not friends.

Mitch, you finally found the right look for Vickie. What a perfect fit. I can see her waving at you as she passes by the Blue Marlin. carold

Good news! It really does appear that I will have a working, reliable rv.. so that I can start making plans and reservations.

If all goes to plan.. I'll have the choice of my rv.. or my little van. Fuel prices might dictate which..as well as a test run in the van. I might not be all that pro van camping after the first trip. The van has a microwave, sink, refrigerator, tv, queen bed, 30amp hook up - and as of next week.. AC.

But no potty or shower.........and obviously far less room than my 38 foot diesel pusher.

Later this weekend, I'll take a closer look at schedules, dog sitting issues, etc.

In the meantime..no one take the fish out of the geocache at the park. Its mine.

That is good news Alice. I'd like to see some photos of what you've done to the van.
I do hope you can make it to the gtg.

I was getting ready to make my reservations today, scrolled through all the messages here - and can't figure out if the group was going for water front versus the satellite friendly sites.

Someone just yell which section to go for.. and I'm ready to make reservations.

Nothing like a reply to my own reply. :D

I went ahead and booked a water side spot in section F.. site 115. Due to a doctor's appointment, I will not be arriving until Wednesday, October 5th. Departure will be Sunday, October 9th.

The park accepted my Federal Access Pass as proof of disability for 50 percent off. I just have to show them the pass when I get there.

Its my understanding that Louisiana and Mississippi state parks also accept the Federal Access Pass for their disability discounts. Florida state parks accept it but I think (and could be wrong) they limit the discount to Florida residents.

See you in October!

Alice, didn't mean to take so much time in responding to your post, sorry. I think most people were wanting the water sites also, unless they wanted open spaces for satellite reception. And yes, I know that Louisiana state parks also accept the senior and disabled passes, I don't know about MS, we usually stay at COE campgrounds and I know they do.

Now, bad news is that Ronnie and I aren't going to make it to the GTG. It's been a really bad start of the year, unexpected loss of $7,500 annual income thanks to the LA budget cuts, Ronnie's nightly foley catheters are no longer paid for after 23 years of being paid for  , I've had to replace the battery in my Dodge Charger (battery in the trunk) to the tune of $160, a dirt/mud daubber built a nest in the rv furnace, it wouldn't work and it had to be pulled in order to get that out $152. now the roof a/c has to be replaced, I'm waiting on the bid, but will be $700plus. Oh, and the TBI/SCI trust fund isn't releasing any money to reimburse the $6,500 wheelchair lift we had installed in 2009. Soooo, I'm not normally this open about finances, but I want you to all know that if we could be there, we would, it breaks my heart to say we won't be there.

I suggest everybody go ahead and make their reservations before the good sites are gone. I planned to go and take pics of the sites, but can't now.

Well He!! That just ain't right. Neither of the Vicksters coming? I see a glimmer (just a glimmer, mind you, you know how my plans are made), of a trip to LA after the GTG. Just how far are you from there??

I'm not real sure, Sharon, it depends on what type of roads you like to travel. The only north/south interstate down LA is I-49 and it angles the opposite way from where you will be and where we are. That said, you are more than welcome down here, as is anybody else.

Sharon, I can't think of any house, gtg, etc you wouldn't be welcome in/at.
