Thursday, April 21

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Thursday, April 21

Good Morning,

A partly cloudy mornng starts the day here this morning. Supposed to be sunny and in the mid 40's. That will help start melting down this snow around here. Getting frustrating, being my last week off work and can't get any work done in my yard like I wanted to. Oh well, not the first time.

Have a couple of coats of stain on the wood parts I need to insert in the cutout openings of my TT's cupboards. Now at a point where I have to take one out and see how close it matches to original color and see if I need to add another coat or two yet. Once I have the color match, then I can apply poly and they will be set to install. Need a bit more warmer weather before I can starting gluing out there. But by next week we are supposed to go into 60's and low 70's.

Otherwise not much new around here. Took the last of the stuff over to the garage sale yesterday and worked on repricing some of the stuff I have over there. Don't want to bring any of it back in. What doesn't sell goes to Goodwill. We aren't going to start it up again, till the Thursday after Easter. After that there will be no more garage sales for me, till I am ready to part with this house as what's here now, I need.

Off to the Chiropractor again this morning, for some more back adjustment, then will spend some time in town, doing some fun shopping as I call it. Need a few personal items for me and then want to get some new stuff for the TT too. Number one priority is a new toolbox, a square head screwdriver and a few other things on my list. Some of the stuff on my list, I don't need right away, but will eventually. New patio mat is also on the list. And a new BBQ grill is coming up too. I have a BBQ planned for Easter Sunday as the forecast is calling for a nice mild day here.

Have a great day all.

Good morning Sue & everyone that follows!

Sue, I hope your weather warms up so you can get your yard work done and finish the installation of the new doors in your TT.

It's chilly in MD this morning. We were in the mid 80's yesterday and today we're going to be in the 60's but with the wind chills, it feels much cooler than it actually is. If that's not bad enough, tomorrow is only going to be in the 50's. What happened to spring time?

After work today, Steve, Teddy (our dog) and I are leaving for the 3 day Easter weekend at a campground. Tomorrow is going to be chilly but it will be a great day for hiking, if it's not raining. Saturday & Sunday are both going to be around 70 degrees & perfect camping for camping.

Hopefully all the severe storms and severe weather are out of the area and everyone is safe. Take care & enjoy!

Good Morning to All - Hurray! the sun is shinning here in Central Indiana this morning. Yesterday was cold and gloomy.
Got to the town west of us and found a new computer - and it was in stock so got it.
Got home and was backing up all my files to an external drive and the power went out. No rain, not a breeze just poof. Was out for quite a while. In fact long enough for it to get cold in here. So finished backing up last night and am ready to start setting up this morning. I know I'm going to have to argue with Microsoft about reloading Office and I use it for everything.
I've been letting my hair grow so I can get a perm but after today I'll probably have it all pulled out.
Still need to get out there and finish cleaning Jennie out too.
Till later...

GOOD MORNING ALL!

Another perfect sunny day here, and expected to get up to swimming temps by this afternoon. Now that the pool has warmed up to what I call uncomfortably warm for swimming, others are using it. The pool dudes are saying it's about 82 degrees in there, but it feels pee warm to me! OH well---if I stay in long enough until I get all pruny, I do get cooled off!

I'm off to WalMart this morning to look for my favorite seltzer in small bottles, my favorite coffee, eggs to hardboil and some egg colors, a hard crossword puzzle book, some new fake crocs as mine are now all superglued with various booboos, and perhaps a bathing suit, if they are on sale. I also need some gas for the truck, for the first time in about a month. I use my bike here mostly, so save a good deal on gas. I use very little when I head to St. Cloud, as I will tomorrow for the Easter weekend with the kids.

Can anybody give me a sure-fire way to hard boil eggs without breaking them, and also a way to peel them after all is done?? I so hate to see egg goop oozing out into the pan of boiling water, and then get microscopic bits of egg shells under my fingernails when I try to peel them, if they survivie the boil!

Gotta get going here before it gets to the afternoon heat----not that I am complaining about any sunshine or heat!

Hope you all have a wonderful Thursday and that you are safe from horrible storms.

Okay, I got zapped by the disappearing post. It's my computers fault, not mine, not forum's. Will explain some other time - but imagine the most witty, inspiring post ever... that's what I wrote ;-) Okay, maybe not.

Recap: We are staying busy since we sold the club. Now I have to run to the shower and then off to a meeting.... loving the process of this life change though!

Have a great day!

Good morning all, I was dressed like it was January not mid-April for my walk this morning, it's a cold breezy 45 and I was cold in spite of my garb of wool hat, coat and wool scarf! But I'll take this rather than 75 degrees and humid! Some areas around town are still without power from the storm Tuesday night. The pictures of damage around the area are so sad, and on the other side of town a large piece of metal was wrapped around a pole, looked like someone had started a May pole using a strip of metal about 12" wide and wrapped it around twice.

Soos here is how I do hard boiled eggs and it usually works well. Use eggs that are near expiration date if you are going to peel. Place eggs in pan and cover with water, bring to rolling boil, place lid on and turn heat off. Let set for 14 minutes, drain and pour ice and water over them to cover. Let cool, place in fridge wait till chilled through, if you want to peel some, start from the big end getting under the membrane for best shell removal.

My friend is coming in from Ft. Myers tomorrow and I told her to bring a sweater!

Good morning all,

I've been up since 4 a.m. Dd's surgery on her wrist (2 cysts removed) went well and we are back at her house. Have her propped up in bed with arm elevated. I'll be in GA until Saturday, then back to FL for my own drs. appts.

Sue, I had a "Pay-what-you-want" yard sale. I didn't have to put prices on anything. It was stuff I didn't want & would give to Goodwill anyway. If someone made an offer, I accepted, with very few exceptions. (Exceptions were pricier items such as adjustable bed & lift chair). Some people didn't want to make an offer, so I gave them a suggestion and they either accepted it or counter-offered & I accepted. Usually I got a fair price or even better that way and it was a lot easier.

Wishing all a fun day.

Soos, if you are going to WalMart, look for the giant plastic egg thingee in the kitchen section. It hardboils eggs, 4 @ a time, in the microwave. Perfect eggs every time and peel perfectly! I love mine, but I ordered it from Amazon.com and paid thru the nose for it. Otherwise it's like $10 at Wally World. I did 1 1/2 doz eggs yesterday to color w/my GDs.

Dang---I didn't get this message in time to get the egg cooker at Wally's! Oh well, I will just have to make do with the suggestions about boiling and peeling that people have mentioned!

Thanks for all the suggestions, y'all!

Lenora, how did you pay through the nose? Unless you paid shipping. I'm always able to find other things to get my order to $25 (other things I would be buying anyway) in order to get the free shipping.

Soos - we've been talking and posting about that egg cooker for years now! But good luck doing them the old-fashioned way :)

I remember seeing those posts, Beth, but, as I only cook eggs once a year at Easter, I put it right out of my mind! And I didn't realize it's WalMart that has them. I don't think I have the patience to do just 4 eggs at a time either, so I guess this once a year boiling thing can be managed! I've decided to wait until I get to the trailer today, however, as I don't have a large enough pan to do them all in (18 of them)

Yes, with S&H it came to almost $17! There wasn't anything else I needed that I couldn't get cheaper here in town, so I wasn't about to spend more $$ to save a little $$.
