Oh no! Poor Winnie and poor mom. When are you going? Going to be a miserable ride for both of you, but like all things we do what we have to. Keep us posted on how she's doing, test results etc and take care of yourself. Hugs to all.

The good news is Winnie does not have an adrenal tumor or Cushings; the bad news is they still aren’t sure what is wrong. She was a real trooper for a dog who never goes anywhere but the vet because she hates car rides. She sat in my friends lap and looked out the window for the two and a half hour ride to Manchester, MO. I had to leave her with them for 2 hours while they did an ultra sound of her stomach. When I came back we saw a surgeon who said we should have been given an appointment with an internist and could I wait…I looked at her and said I don’t think either of us are good for much longer, it’s been a very long day, so she did a physical exam and after yet another blood test and other evasive indignities they found nothing. By this time we are all exhausted almost to the point of immobility. We left with the instructions to watch her for two weeks and if she isn’t better they will consider the water deprivation test for diabetes insipides. I'm thinking the waiting is because I told them that in the last few days I have noticed a decrease in her original symptoms and a focus more toward wanting to eat excessively.

I drove us out of the city in rush hour traffic ACK to the two lane road home and my friend took over the drive for the rest of the way home while Winnie finally slept and I rested. The clinic was an amazing place and the everyone was very nice. I am so glad to be home with my baby. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

Goodness, that was a long day for everyone. I'm glad the adrenal tumor and Cushings has been excluded. Hope some answers are found soon.

Glad to know that there are somethings that she doesn't have...... hope that the positive changes that you had begun to notice continue......Take care of yourself, too. Those puppers are all depending upon you. Oh, and I found one of the women at the scoring center that I work with that does "energy" work. She has been taking some classes and has been using "Healing touch" with her animals......

She is still getting better, I am so relieved. I wonder if the trip was so traumatic that it shocked her whole system, I think it did mine! She has never been in a car for long or around many people and a lot of those she won't let touch her. Last night was the first night in over a month that she didn't potti once! That is down from 3-4 times a night so a huge improvement. The type of problem they think she has comes on all of a sudden caused by something that starts to send a wrong signal in the brain so guess it can reverse. My friend who went along said if she starts it again we'll put her in the car and tell her we're taking her back to the doctor! So if your dog or you (it can happen to people) start to drink excessive amounts of water see a vet quick before the kidneys become unable to concentrate urine. I thought it was really rare but the vet we saw said it had happened to two of her dogs.

Tina, I have been doing Healing Touch and Reiki on Winne, all the dogs love it. They had a class at the Junior college on Healing Touch for Dogs. When I work with a client here at the house they all come and lay down as close as they can to suck up the excess energy.
