I just knew someone would ask....  Ernie & I looked it over pretty good and have come to the conclusion that it must be a "flowering Cherry"......It's not a "flowering crab apple" cause my Mom had and now my sister has about 3 in the front yard....

It's a "mock" cherry; I have on in front of my house up in Alexandria! Gorgeous!!!

Lori,

How long are you going to be in this area. We ought to get together for dinner or something if you are going to be here in VA for a bit. Or is this just a stopover on the way up north? Maybe, if it can't be this trip, maybe as you head south again later in the year? I'm only about two hours from the beach here in Chester. I've not been over that way, but I guess I can't get too lost if I head directly East, eh??? :D  :?

Whew...well, we weren't too far off on the type of tree....Mock Cherry....will have to tell Ernie in the morning...(he's in bed... )

Li, we are leaving Sunday morning for PA....so guess we'll have to plan for the fall when we head south again.....or if you get a long weekend, drive north up US 15 and visit..... ;) this summer.....will keep in touch....and yes, I don't think you would get lost driving due EAST to find the beach..... ;)

Love the flower pictures. The variegated tulips remind me of all the tulips my sister had planted around the farmyard where we grew up.

I used to have one of those and I was told it was a Japanese Flowering Cherry, just like the ones in Washington, DC. I have never been there when the trees are blooming, however.

Beautiful pictures of flowering bulbs. Wish I had planted some last fall. I dug the old ones up and never got around to replanting.

Those Bass Pro shops are a lot of fun. Beautiful where you are...all those flowers!
