Garage Sale Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Garage Sale Thursday

Postby Colliemom » Thu Apr 14, 2011 6:26 am

Good Morning to all,

Today is the first day of the garage sale at the neighbors. Think I have just about cleaned my house out. Told my neighbor that if I take out any more stuff it would be furniture and stuff I am using and then I would be sitting on the floor  But it sure is nice having all that stuff out of here. So in a bit here I will go pu the signs out and go see what's going on. Neighbor isn't starting till 10 but is running till 5:30. I'm still hoping that there will be enough extra help aruond to take the money, so I can vamoose to CW. Won't be today, but maybe tomorrow or Saturday. We've already sold some stuff to neighbors and friends who have come by for "early sales" and to add some of their stuff as well.

Spent yesterday working in my TT, installing the new doors in the ovehead cupboards. All doors are in place, but due to the fact that there are three doors shorter than the openings, I have to cut some wood and fit it into the opening to close it up, glue and stain. Then can attach the closure things to keep them shut and viola, all done. Will post some before and after pics when it's finished. That probably won't happen till next week.

So off to get busy around here. Want to run the vacum and have a load of wash going. Then it will be time to head out with the signss. So have a wonderful day all.

Good morning Sue & everyone that follows!

Sue, good luck with the yard sale. I hope everything sells so you won't have to lug any of your things back into the house or take to Goodwill. I'm looking forward to seeing the new doors you're installing in your TT.

It's not raining! In fact, the sun is shining! It's chilly though, only in the low 40's but later in the day we're going to be in the high 60's. Tomorrow is going to be a copy cat of today and then on Saturday, you guessed it, it's going to rain again. I guess that will be a good day to cook some food to take to my parents.

Next weekend is Easter weekend and I'm going to take Good Friday off and leave for the campground the evening before that to have a 3 day weekend. They will have a sunrise service on Sunday beginning at 6:15 and lots of other goings ons, including an Easter egg hunt for the kids, hayrides & so on.

I hope everyone has a good day, wherever you are and whatever you are doing.

Good luck on your yard sale, Sue. Hope everything sells by noon and you can have the rest of the weekend to go to CW!

The sun is rising over a foggy lake and the air is cool this morning. Will take Roe for a nice walk and then will go help a friend do her taxes. After that there's laundry & house cleaning to do....hair, hair everywhere!

Late this afternoon Swissmigrator and I plan to take the kayaks out on Orange Lake....putting in at a public boat ramp south of here where there's enough water to launch. So a full day planned here.....hope yours is grand.

GOOD MORNING ALL!

Image
As you can plainly see, I didn't have half enough cement to finish the job yesterday!

Image
I'm off to Lowes to get more cement and finish this repair job. I will mix the batter wetter today, so it will flow better and be more level. It won't be perfect, by any stretch of the imagination, but it has to be better than that depression that has been there for a long time, according to Weldon.

A perfect day has dawned here again, so off I go to get my stuff. It got too hot to do the gutter screens yesterday, so that's on the list to do today, also.

I hope you all have a good day whatever you are tackling. Good luck with the garage sale, and kayaking and getting ready for camping Easter weekend!

Morning everyone. We had a nice spring snow this morning. Lots of moisture for the trees. It's one of those cozy mornings that should only be for snuggling in bed with a good book. Fortunately, I'm allowed to do that today. Doctor prescribed. ;)

G'morning!

From the 'drippy, drizzly, cool, cloudy' northwest! I'm sooo over this dreary weather!!

Soos, thanks for sharing your project. Looks like you are doing a bang up job so far.

Kathleen, hope you are not coming down with a bug. Take care.

Amy, so good to see you this morning! Yep, listen to your Dr. Rest is good so you body can heal. Hugs!

Sue, hope everything sells!! Are you planning on taking anything that doesn't to Goodwill etc? I always dreaded having to lug anything that didn't sell back into the house. A trip to CW sounds like allot of fun!

Liz and Angela, enjoy the day together! What fun!

Nothing planned for me today.... sigh! :(
Blessings!

One view of the finished product.

And another view.

There's no guaranteee that this will last long enough for me to take one drive over it with my truck, but, it was worth trying! When I think of what it looked like when I started, I am happy with it tonight. Wish I had taken a before pic, but I took a half-done one for this morning! When it dries some more, it might even match the old, worn reddish paint on the driveway!

I hope the garage sale went as well, Sue, and that everybody's day was successful at something.

Thanks, all! I drove over it this morning, and it didn't crack!

With no money to hire people to do the work, and no good fairy to zap it done, I have to tackle things I have never done before. Today will be finishing the installing of screens over the eaves gutters to keep debris out of them so they won't clog while I am back home. After that, maybe scrape down, sand, and paint my garage-sale bookshelves.
