That smell is probably what contributed to the "this is it" when choosing the Rv in the first place. So sniff away and visit your RV anytime. Have lunch, take a nap and get rid of the grumpiness. Glad the healing is going well for you now. Can't promise to give laughter warnings, things just happen and we lose control so quickly. (some more than others) Linda

Yeah, I've been known to sniff the sink mats after a trip to the dentist and had laughing gas. I love that gas! Did you know that sink mats smell just like that rubber nose cone they put on you?

Funny you all should mention the SMELL. I am on my second day of the "broken black tank" OMG..... The Smell! Get's fixed on Thursday.

Today I talked with the Warranty gal at Crossroads (the manufacturer) she told me to bring it to the Tillamook RV repair folks (that I told her about) and get an estimate, cause of problem, and course of action to repair....all that will determine whether they will cover it under the warranty or not. If not, then I am stuck paying for it myself...I have no choice, can't have it in the situation its' in now.

There was no freeze associated with it. We had no freezes this winter, just two days of cold weather and not low enough temps to freeze these large tanks and the plumbing at either end of them. I do have the polar package which should have been good enough for this mild winter here on the coast. Personally I think it is just poor craftsmanship and a flange came loose, maybe the rocking from the wind had something to do with it. This is a lightweight RV and they just aren't beefy like a real RV. I treat this RV like a blown-glass snowflake..I am ever so careful with it.

Also, the warranty gal said I would have to pay the RV repair people and Crossroads would reimburse me...I am rethinking that. I don't trust them to actually do that. I have read such awful stories on line about any number of these RV warranty people; not good. So, I am going to ask the RV repair to bill Crossroads. I am sure they have dealth with this before.

Please pray for me...I am on a retirement income and have certain money in the bank that is designed to stay in the bank.

Amy, Please forgive me for taking your post over with my foolish tank problem. I am truly very, very sorry; I wasn't paying attention. I am especially ashamed considering the immensity of your situation and should never have let a sensitive posting like this get off track.

I continue to keep you in prayer that you will be strong and healed very soon.

Kathy, I truly don't care that you're discussing your tank woes. In fact, I'm surprised no one has come up with a joke to tie that into my stuff. Dumping the tank....dumping my drains....I don't know. I'll have to leave the funny to someone else.

But actually, it reminded me that I really need to better protect my tanks. I travel no matter what the weather, but I'm not fully protected for sub-freezing temps. I think I've been lucky so far, but my luck might run out there and get expensive. Although, by the time I'm able to drive the rig again, the weather will be nice and I'll forget all about it until next winter. Then I'll think, "Hmmmm, maybe I should do something about that tank situation...."

My guess is her tank had a problem or weak spot from the start - not much you can do to protect them, other the standard stuff.

That said, hey, we're women - we segue from one thing to another and back again all the time. What can I say?

I'm glad you're healing and now on the road to the next step. And I hope that your attitude is as good as it sounds here. Attitude really does make such a big difference. Keep on keeping on!
