PORT LAVACA GTG, 1ST WEEK IN APRIL

We had rain last night. Well it counts even though it was only about 15 seconds worth. Still too windy for kayaking. so Diana and I looked at birds and bird books this morning. We discussed what to look at when trying to ID a bird. Reviewed some of my books and played 'which of those 2 birds is that bird'.

Need to do some exercise now...blood sugar was way up this morning...blaming Karen as she held a gun to my head and made me eat that big piece of Lemon cake last night....Yes, I know I am responsible for her making me do that . Guess I am off on to a low carb eating spree for a while now.

Ali, I will try to get the recipe for Cowboy Caviar from Diana and post it for you in the recipe section.

So off I go down the road, walking, birding and trashing!

Know what? Sun is out now...still windy but is now mostly sunny.

Saturday afternoon, I'm home again to Austin. Easy drive up 183.

Last night Birdie and I went to a 'fish fry' at the local Catholic Church. Put on by the Knights of Columbus, but looked to us like the 'Knightettes' were doing the cooking!
Yummy fish though, wish I had some right now!

Speaking of food, I posted the recipe for Cowboy Caviar in the other room.

Gosh what a fun week we had....yes, it was breezy! the good news was the wind created some real waves! We identified many beautiful birds thanks to Birdie's expertise. On my way out I got to see two Spoonbills and another White Tailed hawk.

Stopped to visit the mission in Goliad for a few minutes. The light was perfect for lovely pics inside. I know that because TWO wedding photographers were shooting their respective brides when I arrived. Love that park!

Hope gals at beach are having a lovely afternoon. Wish I was there!!!

Well we were sad to lose Diana on Saturday, but we were glad to welcome Sprinter (Sharon).

What an awesome time I had in Port L this weekend! Boondockin with 2 of my most favorite RV sisters Sorry I missed Vicki, Diana and Carol though. This dang thing called W O R K sure does interfere! But it's all good. I've been dually spoiled with great food and friendship I am now refreshed and ready to face the next week ahead. Thanks again Karen and Nancy for an awesome time at the beach and a wonderful brunch!
