Stormy Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Stormy Tuesday

I hope every one in the path of these dangerous storms is hunkered down and safe this morning. I am monitoring the line which is approaching my location within the hour. Took Roe out early in case we can't get out for awhile. Glad to hear that Kathleen is staying put in the panhandle until Wed. Smart lady, she is.

A rainy day is a good day to curl up with a good book...think that's what I'll do today.

GOOD MORNING LIZ AND ALL!

Yep, here we go again, although this line of storms is much narrower than the last bunch that came over our peninsula, thank heavens. I just received my first warnings of possible tornadoes along with severe thunderstorms. That's a beautiful, although ominous, picture of things developing last night Liz! The poor people in the center of the country and along the east coast are getting the full brunt of this front. So far, all is calm down in Central FL, but ours is on the way.

I will do some painting of the bookshelves I got at garage sales last week, solve some crossword puzzles, and just try not to watch the lightning and hear the thunder booming.

Kathleen, stay safe! And anyone else in the path of these storms!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good morning Liz, Soos & everyone!

Liz & Soos, you take care with the storms brewing in your area.

We had rain and winds here this morning and are under a tornado watch until 10:00 this morning. Our temperatures reached above 80 degrees yesterday and we'll end up around 50 today because of the cold front pushing through. The weather was perfect for the Baltimore Orioles home game yesterday.

Everyone, please stay safe with the spring storms moving through the area.

Sorry to see that so many of you are getting our weather leftovers from yesterday. We didn't have actual tornadoes but lots of heavy wind and the thunderstorms went on most of the night. I managed to get home between storms and was glad of it although I had planned to stay late to do some grading and write lesson plans (I only have to write 3 more sets!). Guess I'll do that today which will be a busy day since we have several thousand in the city without electricity and undoubtedly many are teachers who either won't be here or will be late. Luckily the skies have cleared and although it's a bit cool today, it's sunny. Tomorrow promises to be lovely and high 60s. And I have my 1:00 appointment at the state teacher's retirment office!!!

Take care all and stay out of the weather.

Hi Liz,

Came this morning in my raincap so see if you needed help to roll your awning, but it was already up. You wise women ! I rolled mine at seven this morning in the middle of the wind and storm, it was funny. The cat ran out and hide under the RV !

Happy to know that Kathleen you are staying in the Panhandle. Hope the thunderstorm is not to strong.

A good day to everybody.
PS : I forgot to tell you that although I speak some German that I learned at school, my language is French, as I am from Geneva, European Hqs. for United Nations.

Good-morning Everyone, Maggie and I, survived our bad storm last night. We lost t.v. coverage, but lights stayed on. Tornados are what concern me the most. Maggies fear and stress is heartbreaking too.

Supposed to take the r.v. in today to get it unwinterized and the motor for the fan to A/c, put in. But think I will call and make sure he is ok up there and if today will be a good day. I really would rather stay home, but it needs to be done before he is to busy.

After all my yard work yesterday, inside needs my attention today :) , if I take the r.v. down, I may have to walk around inside this evening with my eyes shut

Have a great day everyone, those in stormy areas, stay safe and those enjoying GTG's, have enough fun for all of us!!

Take care,
CArol :)

Good Morning everyone,

Wow, spectacular picture Liz. Those thunderheads can be really something to watch when they start forming. But not so much once they get their act together.

You certainly can tell that Mother Nature is doing her "spring dance". Spewing bad weather out all over the mid section of the country. I guess I will not complain too much about our having a bit of that white stuff around here right now  . We missed out on some very heavy rains on Sunday, the which have caused flooding in the central part of the state in some areas. Three inches of rain plus some snowmelt have cause one of the rivers to rise too fast. I'm not looking forward to our storm season which will be approaching before long too. Tessa doesn't not like thunderstorms. At night anyway. During the day they don't seem to bother her as much. Fortunately I have a beasement if the weather gets really threatening. Have to put some fresh batteries in my weather radio too.

Since the weather yesterday was kind of a mix of a little fog and some drizzle here, I pretty much stayed in and gave the house a really good going over. Vacumed, dusted, washed floors, washed windows inside, that kind of stuff. And no, I am not available for hire   I just want to make sure I have it cleaned good cause once the weather cooperates, I plan to be outside and eventually back to work. Nuts to housework after that. Am also considering having a RE agent come over to give me a CMA on the house. Actually a couple of them really.

But this morning it's off to Gaylord to pick up a few things from the store etc. Will probably stop at the park and pick up my paperwork to get that annal drug test done and out of the way  It's gotten to be same old every year since they instituted it. Then will wait for the other paperwork I need to fill out and turn in (W-2 info, some forms the state requires, etc.) Then it will be time to head back to work the last week of this month and along with two of my co workers, start putting plumbing back together so we can get two of the toilet/shower buildings opened for the first weekend in May. The girls are going to have to adjust to "mom" being gone again every day. But the nice thought is that camping season isn't far behind :D

So time to be off and get ready to be on my merry way. Those of you who are expecting bad weather, stay safe and dry. Those on the road, keep an eye on the sky, the rest of you, have a great day no matter what it brings.

Thanks for checking on me this morning. I wish you'd have knocked on the door...I would have come helped you with your awning. I bet it wasn't really funny...at least until after.

Storms are safely past us now.

All the storms missed us, which is good and bad news. This puts us in a high fire threat warning and definitely a no burn zone. We have had only one half the rain we had this time last year, which means we are in a moderate drought condition. The grass is definitely crunchy.

Hope all in the path of these storms are safely inside and cuddling the four footers as needed. Glad to hear Kathleen is safely tucked away also.

Travel safely. Linda

I went to sleep at 11:30 last night and woke up at 11:30 this "morning". Not sure why I slept so long? Maybe from all the laundry I did yesterday! I'm not the only one up late here tho, I hear mourning doves and a rooster crowing right now, so they must have slept in too!

Sunny and a little cooler today. Slept too late to go out by the pool today. Lots more things to get done today. May not take the car in until Thursday morning now to get checked over.

Still no responses to our ads yet... :(

I miss the thunderstorms but not the tornadoes! Hope everyone stays safe and dry!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

We just got back from Baton Rouge and I'm beat. We had to do pre-op stuff for my DH's up coming knee surgery and attend a class. I really like the hospital, looks like they have it together. I am still getting over a cold I caught last week. If you want to see people scatter, start coughing in a hospital. I'm glad we didn't have to go yesterday in all the bad weather. It is beautiful today but a little cool.
