MONDAY, APRIL 4th

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

MONDAY, APRIL 4th

Good Morning,

Just checking in this morning. Kind of getting a bit foggy out there this morning. Otherwise nothing new to report from the 45th here. We had a light covering of very wet snow yesterday afternoon and then a mess of heavy rain came though, just to the south of me here. As usual, it missed this area again. Friend of mine at the motel around the corner here, emailed me last night and wondered if the "thundersnow" bothered my girls as it did hers. What thundersnow? Never heard a thing. I was reading the paper and reseaching on the "puter" here, and the girls were snoozing all afternoon. Very quiet around here, no TV, nothing. So????? But it is supposed to rain a little this mornng and then change back to snow later on today and maybe some snow showers into tomorrow morning  The whole week is gong to be kind of wet from the sounds of it. More rain showers than anything. Well, like the saying goes, April showers bring May flowers. Guess I will be staying in most of the week puttering around with who knows what. Fortunately my neighbors garage sale is going to be this coming weekend, so I will be busy taking stuff over there and getting set up.

House cleaning on the agenda for this morning and then finish pricing stuff etc. Otherwise not much doing. It will come all at once, just before I go back to work

All I can say, is have a great day all. Hope your weather is better than mine and if not, well, I guess we will bite the bullet and wait it out. :)

I was looking at the GtG topic and noticed the October gathering in Arkansas is at a state park. How in the heck did I miss that? I love state parks!

Once I get past the current rv repair issues, I'll be able to decide. I have a trip planned/reserved for Ocala, Florida in October but I might be able to do both, even though it would be back to back.

Fuel prices may be a bigger factor than I care to think about.. but I'll worry about that tomorrow (Miss Scarlett).

Good morning everyone!

I missed getting here over the weekend, although I had my laptop with me. Just spent little to no time on the computer this weekend.

The first camping weekend was nice despite being a little chilly. We had several campfires which we enjoyed. We made reservations for the 3 day Easter weekend for the same site. Hopefully we won't be wearing our winter jackets on that trip.

My sister & BIL are leaving my parents house today to go back to their home in FL. Dad is improving slowly and with help from his PT, he is regaining mobility in his left hand and isn't as uncomfortable as he was.

Take care of yourselves & have a good day.

Good salty morning Sistahs! Had a very 'nice' breeze off the gulf all night. Was surely nice for sleeping. Currently we have about 76* with those breezes. A few more white caps on the incoming waves. We should have Diana driving in today.

The sun did come out for a minute or two earlier around breakfast time. Had sausage gravy with biscuits and French Vanilla coffee. Should be a partly lazy day and partly a working day here for me, I think. So will trundle off of here, check my e-mail, and then shut off the generator, close up the laptop and get cracking on a couple of To Do's.

All be safe on the road and have fun while you are out camping.

good morning ladies, well, it seems I overslept and never heard the alarm. The school district
called and my phone woke me up. :o late for work! They have my morning covered so no
worries there. Guess I was overly tired not to hear the alarm. Thats happened maybe twice
in 10 years. Guess I'll be free this morning to do a little extra, now the question is, which
extra do I do first   I know, lets jump on the computer
Guess after I finish waking up and get dressed I'll go clean out my car, it desperately needs it.
The girls would love hanging out in the car with me, it would make them feel like they are
having extra time with mommy.
The weather is superb right now, no morning chill and not even going to be hot today, just
in the mid 80's, right now its 63 :D
Well, the girls are up and asking for breakfast so guess I'll get right on that :D
ya'll have a great day and be safe.

Morning all! Feeling guilty this morning that I didn't go to town yesterday and take care of several things since I am heading out next Friday. I always figure I will not do town on the busy weekends since I have all weekdays to utilize. But naturally the weekend days were dry and fairly nice...dry is rare in these parts. So, now it's pouring rain and forecast to do so for several days. Oh, well, I have a raincoat.

Since Oregon has no sales tax I want to buy new tires here before I leave the state. My tires aren't quite ready to be replaced yet so gonna stretch it as far as time allows. Here's a warning regarding Les Schwaab. You know how Les Schwaap originally had such an impressive customer service strategy, so much so that they the very name Les Schwaab became and adjective used to define how to do business. Offices in business of all kinds used to post "his" photo and motto in their break rooms to inspire their employees. Well, those days are gone. Now, the stores can carry the name but not even be part of the corporation (similar to a franchise) ; you would only know they are't related if you ask them. Many of them now are extremely shoddy with their operation and customer service. here in Tillamook Oregon there is only one tire store and it's a Les Schwaab. When I first got here I stopped in and had my tires rotated and the air checked....THEN, I went online and read horrible reviews of this store....OMG!!!! they have been stripping lug nut stems by not hand-starting the lug nut, not balancing new tires, and other issues. When customers return with problems they are mistreated and told they "They" must be at fault and refuse to fix the issue. I haven't loosened the lug nuts to see if they are stripped. I went out yesterday to write down the tire size, etc. and I saw that two of the four valve stem covers are gone. I am a stickler for valve stem covers to be in place....they couldn't even manage to get all four of them back on...So, morale of the story is to see if you can find reviews on Les Schwaab (or any automotive outfit) before you let them touch your vehicle... Just another sign-of-the-times.

It is very windy here this morning and we are under a tornado watch all day. We are at the tail end of the box so it should go North of us. It has blown my Ficus tree over twice so just left it on it's side so the wind doesn't beat it so much.

Carolyn and I had lunch with Carold yesterday and had a nice visit. I think this is their 3rd or 4th visit to Abbeville and the second time I have visited with Carold. It's always good to see them. Check out their blog, Carold would fit right in with the cajuns. Carold and Bob were thinking about heading out this morning so hope they don't get into the bad weather.

GOOD AFTERNOON ALL!

I am back in Orlando, paying bills and filling out final income tax stuff. I will owe about 1400 dollars, so I have not been in any sort of hurry to do this!

I have no clue where everyone is today-----I know I wanted to get home before I tried to boot up this computer, as the connection is much faster back here and I have my own desk and stuff to use. It is getting nice and hot outside, so I guess I will head over to the club pool via my bike, and take a little cruise around the neighborhood while I'm at it. Still no news from Kathleen, I see. Hope we hear something soon.

Beth, how close to route 81 is your campground? If I decide to haul my trailer back home, I will be using I 81 all the way to Watertown. I would love to stop, visit you, and park my trailer there long enough to be able to visit my brother in Paoli before heading back to the north country. If I am not hauling the trailer, I will head right over to Paoli and spend a week, or so there, with them.

Gas prices are going to break me this year, along with taxes owed. I am not liking this lack of funds.

Hope you all are having ok weather, and, if you are on the roads, be safe.

Happy travels!

Good morning gals!
It is sunny and 77 here already with a high in the low to mid 80's today. I should be out by the pool!
I have the day off and tomorrow too (too many days off lately  ). Need to do tons of laundry today and some cleaning around here.

Speaking of mechanics, I got the name of a place nearby recommended by a gal at work, who does good, honest work. I am gonna see if I can get in there today or tomorrow to check out my brakes, etc, that the guy at Meineke told me were shot and "have to get replaced immediately". I want to get an honest second opinion before I shell out a ton of money.

Still no calls on the apartment yet...

Have a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

We are having a stormy day here and the temps dropped from 70's to 40's a short time. I was driving back from a town south of here this morning and was caught right in the path of a terrible storm, I've seldom seen or heard rain that bad before. Got about 3 miles from home and it suddenly stoppe. We've had thunder a a little rain but so far so good. Yesterday and into the night we had super strong winds, lots of limbs and power outages.
Soos, if you have another trailer at home and your pickup set up to camp sounds like leaving your rig in FL would be a good plan. I hope Kathleen checks in soon and doesn't get caught on the road in these strorms. People are crazy, it was torrential rain, road was covered and some ninny rode my bumper all the way into town this morning and turned in at McDonalds. Felt like following him in and asking if a trip to MCD was worth risking his and others lives. Well I must need another nap, Winnie woke me again last night wanting food, this saga isn't over and she is having yet another test today as she is loosing weight fast, even though she is eating like a little piggy.

2 mins. before noon here. Just under the wire!

Kathy, thanks for the heads-up on Les Scwalb. I'm so tired of having to double check/get second opinions when needing a mechanic. What happened to the old days? ;)

I took Little Missy in for her emissions test and she passed! Two years ago the tester asked what size engine she had. I thought a V-10. He says, "no, it's not". Well, today the tester asks me the same question and he actually lifted the hood and checked. Said I have a 6.8 L engine so it is a V-10. Now, who do I believe?!

Pouring rain the entire drive to and from the testing place. There were even places with water standing on the road. I took the long way back to the RV storage place and saw some beautiful country farms/homes.

Went online to renew Little Missy's tags, $116, plus the emissions test cost $15. I went to print out the receipt and now my computer won't recongnise the printer. I've done everything I could think of but am going in circles in trying to get the printer software removed from my computer so I can reinstall. It says since I have a document still in the queue, it can't delete the program, and because my computer isn't talking with the printer, I can't delete the document from the queue!  I'm going to back away for a bit and try again later.

And so goes my day....
Bless ya!

I'm assuming that you've had blood tests done to check her thyroid. Here's an article on the condition in dogs:

http://pethealth.petwellbeing.com/wiki/Dog_Hyperthyroidism

The article says that it's not very common in dogs but can happen. I'd sure be checking since you're trying to rule out what's going on.

Good luck, and I'll keep praying for your pooch. It's distressing to see them not right.

Oh, look. Look. Look.Look.
See Lenora smile. Smile. Smile. Smile.
Lenora is happy now.

After crawling around under my desk, unplugging and plugging the myriad of cords under there, I finally deduced that the external USB port went kaput! Don't know why I was still using it as I have enough USB ports on this new laptop to satisfy everything. So now my printer is attached directly to the computer and is happy again...and so am I.
Thanks for all who PMd me with solutions!
