Oreo Cookie Cattle...really, they all have just one stipe of white in the middle; google it.

The cattle are called Belted Galloways.
First time I saw them was in N.C. near Durham, my aunt tells me that they don't have a very good sense of humor

There are a small herd of these next to I-5 near here. They are pretty cute to look at.

saw a field of those cattle near SLC had to turn around and go back and look as I'd never seen cattle of that description. They are cute aren't they. My dad would roll over in his grave to hear a cow described as cute!

these photos were supposed to go with an earlier posting titled, "SeaLions, elk, and oreo cookie cows". I realized I fogot the photos so added them by themselves just minutes later...so the first photo is the head of a sea lion popping up near some rocks....the story of the sea lion is in the posting.

Your outing sounded great, a leisurely time watching and looking everything over. I pictured all as you wrote it and it was
wonderful, thank you. Even saying good bye to the road, didn't seem odd to me , I have done that same thing.
