ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL SUNNY DAY

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL SUNNY DAY

Postby Colliemom » Thu Mar 31, 2011 6:33 am

Good Morning All,

Going to be yet another great day here at the 45th. Plenty of warm sunshine. Feels like spirng is finally starting to work it's way in. Snow pack is melting away, the birds are chirping in the trees, no boots, hats, gloves needed. And yesterday, the first ferry from the mainland, crossed the Straits of Mackinac to Mackinac Island. Needless to say, the islanders were glad to see it as now they can come and go. During the winter they have to either take a small plane over or use the very dangerous 'ice bridge" which forms in January when the straits freeze over. They mark the way with Christmas trees every few feet, but with a wide body of deep water like that and ever shifting currents, you never know what can happen out there. Lives have been lost when somebody has gone for supples or something, only to go through the ice. The ferries run into December and the one that went over yesterday is built stronger, so can break through what ice is left in the straits.

I've been enjoying these warm sunny days too. Open the door on my TT yesterday and just let the air in for awhile. Took out a few things to throw in the garage sale. Finished taking the rest of the burlap off my shrubs out front, ran some errands in town and also went and got my blood wwork done to check my cholesterol etc. Then out for breakfast afterwards. After 14 hours of fasting, tummy was hungry :? Also got some new parts for my leaf blower (sprak plug, air and fuel filters) and installed them, got the blower started and up and running for the season, then blew out the garage and my drive. Anything to stay outside. Even started my 2011 BBQ season yesteray with a BBQ'd Strip Steak. Yummmm.

So today I have my month chiropractor appt. and then will stop and get a prescriptin refill, pick up a few things at the store while I am waiting. Am thinking about taking a ride to my RV dealers and take a couple of my cupboard doors along, so they can order some more for me. I need some doors in between the ones that are there now. Too hard to reach into the storage spaces. Should have had some on to begin with. Just need to remove the light wood that's over those areas and install the doors. They girls are kind of getting to a point where they would like a little ride I think. Am thinking perhaps of stopping at the park where my boss transferred and taking them for a walk as there is not snow in that area and I think we can walk through the park. They would enjoy it. Today is supposed to be the last nice day for a bit here, so they say take advantage of it. Friday may see some rain showers in the p.m and possibly Sataurday. Sunday wlll be nice but Monday is potential storm with maybe some of the s-word stuff again. Not sure yet they say. After that looks good again.

so that's pretty well what's going on around here. Looking forward to hearing what's going on at your places, whether or not it's in an RV or a stick built. Spring and summer are coming as evidenced by the weather and folks starting to move around. Snowbirds are coming home. Spring breakers are heading south. Have a wonderful day all.

Well it's "Thundering Thursday" here. Woke up to a rip-roaring thunderstorm going over. You know it was loud if it woke me up without my hearing aids. The worst is over now, but still raining hard and expected to rain all day. Roe's waiting for a lull so we can go out so he can pee. Good dog. Not sure we'll get a good walk today or not.

The snow birds are leaving here in droves this week...Kathleen included. Travel safe! I'm looking forward to hearing about the Port Lavaca GTG that's gearing up this weekend. Would love to be there, but at least I'm in another pretty place by the water.

Wishing all a good day, safe day, fun day.

Good morning Sue & everyone that follows!

Sue, I'm so glad things are warming up in your area, that the snow is melting and the ice is breaking up. It sounds like you have a busy day ahead of you.

It's very overcast here and misting with temperatures in the mid to upper 30's right now. We will have a fair amount of rain moving into the area later today & tonight. The weather is supposed to clear sometime tomorrow morning and the rest of the weekend is supposed to be sunny and in the 50's. We've been in the 40's all week so it will be nice to be a little warmer and see sunny skies.

We have checked and re-checked the foods and clothes in the motorhome and it looks like we have everything we'll need for our first weekend out. Despite some winds tomorrow, it looks like the weekend should be nice. This campground has seasonals that are repeat customers year after year and we have met quite a few of them, so it will be nice seeing them again. I'm sure most of them will be busy putting their home on wheels and yards together for the new camping season. Some of them come with moving vans with their yard furniture, bikes, yard ornaments and what not to put their summer homes together.

It's good to hear the storms are out of the area where Soos is. Hopefully the weather will remain clear so Kathleen will have a pleasant trip headed back home.

Take care & have a good day.

GOOD MORNING ALL!

Nice to hear spring thoughts from Sue this morning! And, Liz, the rip-roarer thunderstorm woke me and Molly up this morning, also, and the news says the worst is nowhere near over! Already two tornado warnings have hit the radar north of here, and ultimately expired, and I haven't seen videos or pics of the damage done by the super-heavy winds accompanying these thunderstorms already today. When I checked with my son yesterday to make sure they made it home from work and that they were still intact at the house, he said, "Get used to it, Mom, if you plan to spend April down here, as we get these afternoon thunderstorms every day all spring and summer long!" Afternoon thunderstorms? He has to be kiding! Afternoon thunderstorms, to my mind, was vastly different from what whipped through here yesterday, and from what is predicted to come today! I doubt anybody would live here if they were constantly getting trees uprooted onto their house, huge tree limbs breaking off and landing on their cars, power outages, tornado warnings saying "You have about 4 minutes to run for cover in the safest part of your house or wherever you are" and on and on! I am hoping this front that is passing through is a rarety and not what I can look forward to until I leave here!

Kathleen won't be packing up outside stuff today, I am afraid. I hope, if you do leave today, that you will find better weather as you head north. Driving through stuff like this is about impossible. We'll all be thinking of you and will be glad to hear from you whenever you find a conection.

Many commuting delays this mornig, airport delays, (one small airplane flipped over there already this morning) and I am hoping my two kids have made it safely to work or are waiting for a break to head out again.

I hear a break in the rain here and lightning here now, so need to take poor Molly out while I can. Storm with tornado in it headed our way right now. We may have to go into the bathroom and hang out. This is not fun! Happy Thursday and last day of March to all.

Good Morning... yes it is still raining here... I think I even heard that huge long long thunder in the night Liz... so very glad Shadow does not even move when the thunder roars and the lightning flashes... unlike the golden retriever Sadie I had years ago... she would even lift the bed up to get under she was so fearful... and she could sense the storm when the sun was still shining...
Today will with the rain I will not be putting things away or dumping... the rain started yesterday and will hopefully end tonight so I can have a few hours to dump, take the stabilizers up and put the trike as well as the mat at the door away... the rest I can do inside today if I get in gear... rain makes me more lazy than I usually am...
Scott from Japan got accepted into ISU so now he has to get his Visa... he is very happy... my two grandsons Tim and Pete go there...
I hope everyone is having a great day...

We are having a very beautiful, sunny day here in CA. It was 85 yesterday and will be close to that today too. About to take the pups out for their walk - no jacket necessary.

Soos, don't worry, the daily afternoon storms are just garden variety storms, a little thunder and a lot of rain and then the sun comes back out. What you are getting today is not a daily thing at all.

I miss thunderstorms here. With all the rain we've had since I have been here, I haven't heard any thunder at all yet.

Sunny morning here with a high of 85 for today! Very nice! Gotta go into work at 4pm. Need to do some laundry and cleaning around the apartment today.

Don't forget to say "Rabbits" tomorrow morning!!! I HAVE to remember, since I need all the luck I can get right now!

Have a good, safe, dry day today!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Yay, I actually made it in time this morning!

Nothing much going on here of course. ~sigh~ Did get at least a few things done yesterday tho. Shade got her bath, she now looks, feels and smell superb! Can't stop petting her now that she feels like silk! And of course she feels it's her due and is eating up all the extra loving. Got the restrooms all nice sparkly clean, (kelly did both by herself) got a little 'yard' work done and some inside cleaning too. Gonna tackle some boxes today.

Temp and weather in general outside my door this morning is near perfect!!! Birds are chirping their little heads off and now that I have the door wide open I expect their singing to wake Kelly. She's a night owl so is still sleeping. ;) Sure do wish I could see my laptop screen while outside. If I could I would be out there at the picnic table soaking up the sunshine! Ahhhhhhhh

Ok, gonna go check out the other postings and see what ya'll have been doing. Have a glorious day my friends and remain safe.

Love to all
