Tuesday Morning And I'm Up And At'em!!

Postby Fernie » Tue Oct 21, 2008 4:52 am

Tuesday morning all ready and I just put on a big pot of coffee!! It is almost done so grab a cup. Don't know why I'm awake so early but I sure need some coffee. It is cool here again this morning. It is more like the fall temperatures we should be having. We don't have any Dr. appointments today so I'm working around the house. Still moving stuff around in the kitchen cabinets making room for some of Bash's stuff and making it more user-friendly!! Hope ya'll have a good day? What's for breakfast? I'm hungry!!! :(

Gooood Mornign!!

Dang Fernie your the early bird this morning! :D It's a little nipply up here too tho it is a tad warmer than what it has been the past two mornings. Will probably still have a good coating of frost to get off the windshield before I can see enough to pull out for work. The heck with the frost, I had a coating of ice on it Saturday. Brrrrrrrr I need to get a can of de-icer to use on it the mornings that I don't have the time to go out, start it and let run long enough to warm up to get the ice off. hehehe I cheat.

What is it about housework??? Looking around this place this morning you would never, ever know that I did a lick of anything in here Friday or the rest of the weekend!!! Good grief it's a disaster in here! :( And speaking of housework ya'll know that's about the only time anyone shows up at the door. When the house is a mess!!! You can clean your fingers to the bone and not get any company. But by goodness let the place get messy??? Look out ya end up with a bunch of people. ~sigh~ Guess I had better do something in here tonight when I get home, crack the whip too and get the kids a working.

Well it's time I go check out the other postings and see what email I've got.

Oh by the way? I've got some mini waffles that I was gonna do up. No real old fashioned maple syrup. But I do have Mrs. Butterworths. LOL

Hope everyone had a good day and stays safe. Barb & family and Paulette's friend Jim are still in my prayers.

Love to all

Gosh Cedar---do they run buses and have school when there is snow on the mountains? Around here, they dismiss school is a winter storm is forecast------even if we never see a snowflake. If it does start snowing, school is dismissed asap and the kids are sent home. I have a friend who slid off the road with kids on her bus when they sent them home early. Luckily no one was hurt. The Sherrif went out to her and waited on the bus helping with the kids until a wrecker arrived to pull her back up on the road. They waited too long to dismiss them that time and she was driving one of the routes on the mountains here. We probably have more snow days than ya'll do!!!

I got to have another cup of coffee!! :)

Oh yes, we have school even when it snows,... now, not in a major blizzard, but it starts sticking on the ground in November usually and doesn't melt totally until around 4/1,.... so,.. we gotta keep going to school! The roads are usually clear though as our road crews are great and work hard. Unfortunately salt is used so it does wreck havoc on cars.

We get 5 "weather days" built into our school calendar,... usually used for heavy snows,.. but sometimes for wind/rain/flooding.

Oh, how i'm looking forward to retiring again,.... and maybe going south for winter,...but it will be a couple more years at least,... :D

Morning all. Slept in this morning. Its getting foggy - was clear half hour ago. Our Texas GTG is getting closer and I can hardly wait. Doubt if we will be playing that game Beth gave us a link to - laughed till I almost fell out of my chair. There's just nothing going on here - just reading and enjoying my time off work. Have sent out some feelers for workamping jobs next Spring but no responses yet. Had a doctor's appointment yesterday and complained about my knees. She told me to take Tylenol and keep walking. Geese, and I paid for that advise? Also wants to add yet another pill to get my BP down. Its always high when I'm in the office and much, much lower when I'm at home. I keep telling her this. So haven't decided if I'm going to take the med yet. One of the park workers is spraying for ants around my rig. I think Kerrville is built on one big ant hill. They're those little black ants. I've found the best way to keep them away is to be sure all the cords and water hoses aren't laying on the ground for them to use as a highway. Time to go walk the dogs. Hope everyone has a great day and I know we're all keeping Barb in our prayers.

Morning all. I'm on my break - so wanted to get on and say hi.

I think all the south is covered in ants - don't worry too much about the black ones - I don't want the fire ants to come visiting. Like you, Karen, I keep all my hoses off the ground - and as long as I do that I never get more than the occasional unwanted visitor.

As to snow and schools, I would laugh and laugh at the times school was closed in Alabama - as in IL and WI - we dealt with the snow and the busses kept on running. Used salt like Cedar, and a blizzard or ice storm would close things down - but a dusting (a couple inches is a dusting, folks) did not stop anything. Not the same south where they aren't ready for it. And Alabama had more black ice days - which are treacherous. I was so surprised that there were so many snow/ice/whatever days when I came south!

Good Morning, Hopefully we did not bring any ants with us from the last campsite. Our mat was covered with them so told Dan to make sure he swept the mat before packing it into the RV.

Warming up this morning all the birds are delighting the cats and the deer are running all around us....watched my geraniums close as to make sure that was not their breakfast!

Quiet day today and then we are off to Jojoba Hills tomorrow and hopefully not driving in the wind...heard it is going to be blowing. I'll never forget the bad storm we had there over New Years 2004. Was much worse than Winchester Bay and both Dan and I were pretty scared that night the wind was slamming against us 70 m.p.h. I swore we were going to flip over on our side! The next morning two RV's that had sunrooms were totally smashed to the ground and their RV's leaking. Yikes!!

Jojoba Hills is the nicest ...and most expensive SKP park, this will be our 2nd time there and should cost us $126.00 to stay there for a week.
