Good Morning Soos and all who follow,
A beautiful sunny morning here at the 45th again today. Will be this way the rest of the week, with gradual temperature rises each day. So will be outside puttering around on these upcoming afternoons. Not doing a lot, but will get into something just to be outside. Soos, your 19 back at home actually beat out my 10 degreess here this mornng
Maybe with some luck, I can open the TT today and let it air out a bit and also do and do some remeasuring, put the stove top cover back in etc. Won't uncover it for awhile yet. Not going to dewinterize till the night time temps stay above freezing, so no use bothering to take the cover off right away. We will still see some rain/snow or even some light snow before April is over and it's all nice and washed and clean under that cover as well.
Stopped by work yesterday to see what's new. New boss will be down here eventually. He has some stuff to get squared away where he is at, before he leaves. Will probably be here before we start back at the end of next month. My two maintenance crew buddies and I will be putting the plumbing back together in the buildings and getting two of them ready to open the week we start back. So we will be in for some fun. Sometimes getting some of those parts to go back like they should can be a bit of a challenge and of course we will get wet too as water doesn't always go where we plan
Last year when we turned the water on to the park store, a valve was accidently left open and promptly flooded the store floor
. So it was get out the mops and buckets and then give the lead ranger a bawling out cause she said she had all the pipes together and other than doing a few other things, it was all set
She thought she had closed off that valve
. But we have all worked togethr long enough that we can give each other a friendly bantering and get a good laugh.
So I think for this morning I am going to sit down a bit and organize that pile of camping literature and my state park maps and so forth. Although I can do a lot of this on line and use the "Ultimate Camping Log" if I want, I do like to have that stuff in a notebook too. Sometimes you get talking to people and they ask about some campground and it's nice to have the book right there. I like the map handy when I make reservations, so I can just look and see what campsite I like as one of my favorites before I reserve. All MIchigan State Parks have the park maps on their reservation page, along with the dates they are open etc. So it's easy to reserve. But I have my favorites in the differnt parks I go to.
I made 5 egg cartons full of sawdust and wax yesterday, so I have enough firestarters for the season and more. Will have some for if I head south as well. Have to check and see if the seasonal stay campground allow campfires at their sites or if they just have one central location.
So have a great day all no matter what you are doing. Those heading out on the road, drive safe and enjoy. Soos have fun painting your bookshelf, unless the pool wins out
