2006 Sunseeker by Forest River

This was sooner than planned, but I found the perfect RV today at the San Diego La Mesa RV show, and I bought it!

It's a 2006 Sunseeker by Forest River, and is exactly what I've been hoping to find for the last year. It only has 8,000 miles and the Onan has only 8 hours. It's hardly been used. It's 24' long. It's so clean I could have moved into it today. I'll pick it up next week, and plan to visit my daughter in Vacaville, about a 400 mile drive, on April 8. I'll leave on a Friday and drive back on Monday, that's two weeks from today. It has a 30 day warranty and I want to drive it a bit to make sure everything is working.

I'll want to add solar panels next year when I travel to Arizona, but until then I think it has everything I'll need. Tons of storage space inside, almost none outside, but that's okay. I plan to travel light, and should have enough room. My bicycle and any lawn chairs will have to be attached to the back.

I even liked the colors and patterns - living in San Diego, I felt right at home with the Palm Trees! That was a plus, too.

I'm sure I'll be asking questions as they come up - I'm so glad I found you all.

Wow, that really is nice. Love the counter space in the kitchen and bathroom. And palm trees!? I've never seen that in an RV before. Wonder if the past owners reupholstered to make it their own? Congrats!

By the way, my son and his family live in Vacaville. Small world!

Wooohooooo and Congratulations - I'm doing the Happy Dance with you. Hope to see you and this great sunseeaker on the road one day! Isn't it fun how when you step into YOUR rig, you know it right away?

Now, don't like to inject any negatives, but when I bought, I was all excited about low hours on the generator - and your sales person played that up, right? Well, that's actually a negative. The generator needs to be run to keep working properly - so that is the one thing I'll tell you to really keep your eye on. I've had more repair bills on my genie than on anything else - if I'd known then what I know now - I'd have replaced it. That said - hopefully you'll not have those problems. But now - run that genie under a load for a minimum of an hour EVERY month. Don't forget. Run it in cold weather. Run it in hot weather. Run it in rainy weather. Etc. Otherwise, the gently used aspect is a good thing. Pics look new!

Wow, what a great looking rig. You are going to have so much fun. Re what Beth said about the Genie...get the genie book out and read whether it says one hour or two hours per month to run it. Mine says run it a minimum of two hours....All this time I ran it one hour. Just replaced the fuel pump on mine. Check out too, how to do the power plug when you are running it...and see if you can run it while driving down the road...that is sometimes easier than trying to time the running in a campground during non-quiet hours. I turned on the a/c and ran it down the road to get full load time on it. Turned it off before pulling in the gas station. Be sure to keep a running comment on how it is running as you are running this 30 days. That way, if something changes from day one at day 20 you will have a note of what ie was like before. Another thing, ask LaMesa if they have tuned or serviced the chassis motor. When I bought mine from them, I ass(yep)umed it had been serviced before I picked it up. Found out they did not service, the Genie, or the chassis motor. Had new batteries, relatively new tires, and a bunch of other new things...but nothing done to the chassis engine, nothing done to the generator. I ended up having to have that service done 3 months later. My mistake.

Keep us posted on your travels. Love the layout that you have and the palm trees are quite appropriate. Now, You Go Girl!!!!
