Our Poor Little Town

Had to drive through downtown Nashville on Sunday to go to the hardward store in Columbus. Our poor little town - only 950 people live in the town, it has one small grocery store, one drugstore, no movies, no clothing stores, no dry cleaners, no pizza delivery and on and on. October is the big tourist month because of the fall colors - however this year there weren't many, most of the leaves just fell off the trees because of lack of rain the locals say. But the people came any way
this is the main corner of town, where the only red light is

an Bill had to drive the RV up through this after we picked it up from the RV place. The tourists are crazy - don't look just step out into the street, don't care where - Even today, Monday, it was crowded down there.
As you can see the trees are not changing this year. Just took this from the back deck yesterday.

Bill has kept busy all day working in the motorhome - has the fireplace all installed and the cupboard doors finished in that area.

You get the fallbirds and we get the snowbirds here in FL  . Well, they do keep the economy going. :D Can't wait to see the changes you've made. I look around our MH and can't imagine moving all the furniture-don't even know what we could do different-it seems very compact. Guess we could get rid of couch and put in recliners, get rid of dinette and put in-maybe computer desk/table and chairs for eating. Our's is 36'-no place for a fireplace. Definitely would like no carpet, but will wait until it gets really bad. I'm just feeling we are in a palace after being in a 29' Class C (which I had no problem with). OK, I've dribbled on enough :D . Must be the wine, I need to get to the campfire quick.  carold

A STOP LIGHT! Jeezzz..you're right uptown...we don't have one of those! Right now our little town is swamped with out-of-state pheasant hunters. They certainly boost the economy. ;)
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

No traffic lights in my town either! But they do have one,.......that's ONE,.... and it's only a flashing light, not a full stop light ... in the next town over. Whoooeeee,... I do love small town life.

We get "summer people" here,.... as we're on a lake there are a lot of summer homes and often we hear locals say,... "is it labor day yet?" hee hee.....
