What's Mitch Gotten Into NOW?

Postby mitch5252 » Mon Mar 21, 2011 3:49 pm

A couple of people have asked if I'm okay. The answer will be YES and NO. Ain't it always something goofy like that!!?

I can just now talk about the George - he's anemic and the reason why is that his kidneys have started to fail. (well, dang - here come the tears...) That's ALL I know right now. We will find out more on April 20. He's seeing an oncologist/hematologist again.

Me? We just got home from a 4-day visit with my sister near St. Louis. I haven't been feeling well for a while (I figure about the time I shut up bugging Vickie here...), and I've been having chest pain (like little burning and pinching), dizziness. headaches - I just attributed it all to stress. While at my sister's, someone suggested I check my BP. I did - 186/123! OUCH! Then I threw up a whole bunch. Sis kept asking me to take it. I said I didn't want to know cuz there was nothing to do about it at her house...

Not to worry, though - I'm off to the doc's tomorrow at 2:00. I'll be back to torment those who deserve it in no time at all! (and you know who I'm talking about!) The Mobile Marlin can sit in the driveway, fully loaded (except for fridge) until I feel like cleaning it out! Poor George - before this nasty disease crept into his brain, he'd have had that whole trailer cleaned out by now and served me a snack to boot! I miss that George a lot! :D

(I told my girlfriend up in Illinois that I MUST not be feeling well - I haven't had a glass of wine in 4, count 'em - FOUR - days!!)
Hmmmmm...I think that needs rectification. Is rectification a word? I'm not even going to go look it up - that's how tired I am...

No need to respond to this, please...I'll report in tomorrow. I'm off to hittin' the couch with a glass of wine and last night's Amazing Race.

Well, it's good to know that the BP is something that's fixable. A little pill -- and some stress management -- ought to do the trick.

And George's kidneys ... I'll pray that that's an easy fix, too.

Thanks for keeping us in the loop, Mitch. I feel honored to be let in on some pretty tough stuff.

Keep us posted as you're able.

Hi Mitch, I'm not responding, since you said we didn't need to do that, and I know better than to cross you. Just wanted you to know that I'll be raising a glass of wine in your honor tonight, (then I'll be drinking the rest of the bottle). You've had more than your share of cr@p these days and I'll wish some of it away and on to someone else who deserves it.

I hadn't been on the forum and Lori told me about this - so here I am. Ha, not respond. We are women, remember - we talk with our mouths, with our fingers - anyway we can figure out! That said, I'm glad you're seeing the doctor. Blood pressure that high is scary. But like said, it can be brought under control. And like so many have already said - you can't care for anyone else if you don't care for yourself first. And I'm sending hugs to you and George - you both need and deserve them.
