A Very Happy St. Patrick's Day to you. Today is the "wearin' of the green". And drinking green beer for those of you who do, eating corned beef and cabbage, etc. etc. Lots of eat, drink and be merry and probably a lot of "oh, my aching head" in the morning tomorrow too
Just in time to get up and head into work.41 degrees here at the 45th this mornng at 6 a.m. Warmest morning it has been since last fall. Rain moving in later this evening and sme fog around today from the melting snow. At the moment I am having a muffin and a glass of hot tea.
The crisis in Japan continues to escalate. People in Toyko are kind of non existant right now, staying inside and watchng to see what is going to happen. The nuclear reactor problem seems to be getting worse and the news is filled with all kinds of questions about the Japanese government and their part in overseeing this mess, the private company who actually is, and the fact that they may have waited to long to ask for help. My heart goes out to those workers who are in the forefront of it, trying to stop the ever growing crisis. Most of them are volulnteers for that mission and in some cases it's literally a sucidie mission as Anderson Cooper put in last night. Mostly older workers who may get radiation sickness and even cancer and die, but are sparing their younger counterparts who have many years ahead of them. The world's eyes are on this. And the every growing unrest, civil war in Libya, etc. on the other end of the spectrum. Seems the whole world is turned upside down at the moment.
As for my little world here, I took the girls and we went for a ride yesterday up to Aloha State Park, one of my favorite camping places. Still snowed in of course, but we were able to walk around the Day Use area a bit. It was kind of a get out of the house type thing for a bit. Now some might wonder why I make these trips like this, just going to no place in particular and rolling up miles on my truck, not to mention spending money on gas and so forth. It's my form of recreation. My parents were always going for rides when I was growng up. We enjoyed seeing the countryside, having a picnic once in awhile or stoping for a bite to eat. My dad loved to drive and even up until he passed away, we went someplace at least once a week, just for the heck of it. Always exploring. Some days we could put 300 miles on before we got home. Now I am alone and I have that restless spirit they had too. I don't drink, smoke, go to movies, go to the casinos, or other things that a lot of people do. Don't spend money on a lot of electronic stuff, just my two computers. Eat out maybe once a week. I don't have any "play toys" per say. Used to have kayaks and canoes. Actually not doing much of anythlng right now. So those rides are my recreation, my "play" time. I enjoy the driving, the scenery, stopping at lakes, river, parks etc. and letting the girls explore. It's relaxing for me, and it gets me out of the house for awhile. Being alone day in and day out, being at home day in and day out can get old after awhile. I guess you might say that it's my "full time RVing" and I'm out sightseeing, except my RV is my house and I return to my "campsite" each day.
Once I get back to work and camping season starts, then things start getting busy. So this morning I am off to Gaylord again. Bank to get some green as my UIA check is here. Then run out to the vet's office and pick up another refill of meds for Sassy. The vet's office is about 4 mles east of town. Then out to one of the three grocery stores here, to pick up a few things and this store is about 4 miles west of town. Sos I get a "ride" this morning again. One can put some miles on just doing errands up in ths neck of the woods. Need to make a stop at an electrical lighting shop to see if they do lamp repair or know of somebody who does as the on/off switch on my one lamp has quit working. The lamp is in great shape and I don't want to part with it. It's not that old. Always was kind of hard to turn. May stop back at Walmart and pick up some dry dog food unless Meijers has it while I am out there. Last time they didn't.
Then will come home here and get to work on my stove top project. Want to get that done and into the TT before long. Got a couple of other ideas I want to do too, but will see if I have time. Probably should. Yesterday I started taking some of the burlap off my shrubs out front. Now they have the light of day. The threat of those harsh winter winds of mid winter is over. Snow won't hurt them, just wind burn. Am thinking of sending my lawn tractor up to have it checked over and readied for mowing season in a bit here. Gonna go get the stove I have had my eye on too as there is going to be some specials on at Home Depot starting today. Next week I have appst. at least three days, well one is for Sassy to go to groomers. And my neighbor just informed me yesterday that she is doing yet another garage sale the first part of next month to clear out some more stuff, so time to go through what else I want to clear out as well. So things are starting to get busy.
So daylight is breaking here. Time to get with it. Have a great day all.
, 3 days with gs, and have plans to go camping for the next 3 days, so all is well in my world. Not sure yet, waiting to hear, if my sailing trip is on or off for next week. I'm hoping it's on, 'cause dd hinted she might need a babysitter again next week. 
I'd like to firm up a good excuse why I can't be counted on for that. Shame on me. 
Kelly was not impressed at all with my attempts to be as quiet as a mouse! 
Ahhhhhhhh, Spring, I'm loving it. This weekend is suppose to remain in the mid 60's during the day and in the mid to upper 30's at night. So the nice temp was a bonus this morning seeing as how I was up and awake so early!!
