WEDNESDAY, BUT WHERE IS SS?

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

WEDNESDAY, BUT WHERE IS SS?

Postby Nasoosie » Wed Mar 16, 2011 5:11 am

GOOD MORNING ALL!

This is the first time my social security money has not been deposited right on time, and it's the lowest I have allowed my balance to get! Maybe the government is holding onto its funds longer than usual? I got up early to make sure the money was there, and it isn't. :o Sure hope it arrives sometime today! They have a very good record, ordinarilly.

Coffee is Hazlenut today, with French vanilla creamer, and, as I slept on the porch last night, the warmth is feeling good. I love to sleep out there. It's quite amazing how quiet it gets in the early hours of the morning when the trafic seems to come to an abrupt stop. I can always tell when the commuters get back on the highways, and the Amtrak train toots its way along the crossings at about 5:00, or so.

I watched an ad for a solar powered supersonic animal repeller this morning, which says it will deter squirrels among other critters. I think I will order one (if I can find one on the net) and see if it actually does work. I would love to keep these grey fluffy-tailed rats from getting back into my attic, and then I will staple up the new aluminum screening over the soffits and holes they have made over the years. Bell and Howell makes it, so I am hoping it is a good product. Seems worth a try, at least.

I hope you all will begin to have great weather for camping soon now, and those on the roads will have safe traveling. I will be attending a pizza supper with green beer tonight at the clubhouse, preceding the public meeting there. It will be interesting to meet more of the neighbors and see who is interested in what for the extra land the club owns.

Happy Wednesday to us all, and I hope all those who have been feeling under par lately are on the mend. Spring is on the way!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good-morning Soos, and Everyone, I had a post written and submitted and lost it. Got a page that web was too busy, odd. One more try, then I quit.

I was so excited about telling you all that I will be gone the next 4 days on a camping trip, now to repeat all, not so fun :) I've been busy this week with getting r.v. serviced, oil change etc., won't unwinterize yet, it can still be enjoyed for this trip. Maggie is sooo bored, me too, she of course doesn't know we're going somewhere where we can have our walks and just be outside. She'll get the idea, when I move the r.v to hook electric up to turn Frig . on. Weather is supposed to be in mid 70's, nights may still be a wee cool, but thats ok. So lucky to have found a CG open, most don't until first of April. Its less then 50 miles away, but I haven't been there before, so will check it out.

These next 4 days will just be a tease, as we will probably get more snow, its possible into April here, so I plan to enjoy every minute.

Hope those of you who have been sick, are feeling much better. The rest of you, hope you have a great week end too.

I'm sure it will take me awhile to catch up on here when I get back, I'm behind now  Take care all !!!

CArol :)

Morning girls! Up early posting to my blog. Spent the night near Tupelo at Tombigbee State Park. Was feeling a wee bit sick but better this morning. Yeah Carolinagirl. Where are you going camping? We aren't too far apart, so maybe we can meet up one day. Gotta shower and load up for more of the trace today. Stay safe everyone!

Good morning Soos and all who follow,

Had a post all done here and poof, offf to cyberspace

Glad to see you posted first this morning. Always nice to have somebody to follow. Sorry your SS isn't in your account, but maybe it came in too late for the bank to post it. Hopefully it will be there yet today.always nice to have the $$$.

Be interesting to see if that solar animal chaser works. Some neighbors who have a second home here have one the you can plug into electric to keep the mice and other critters from getting intrested in the house when they are not here. It does emit a low level noise though and needs to be turned off when you are in the house. Would probably drive Molly crazy. The squirrel battles are a never ending source of frustration and amusement both. Those wily critters are smart and they can outfox us humans easily. I remember all the things my dad used to try to keep them off our feeders at our other house during the winter. Kept hm busy thinking and sometimes downright amused. Good winter entertainment. When we moved over here, I put up a 4x4 post and covered it with a 6 inch round stove pipe. Squirrel proof. They never got up there. The trees in my front yard are widely spaced out and the one that might have been within jumpng distance, had branches to small to hold their weight, so no launching pad :)

Going to be another nice late winter day here. Sunday is the start of spring and it indeed has started here. Temps are near 50 during the day with plenty of sun. Rain predicted for late tomorrow into Friday morning followed by more mild weather and rain on Sunday into Monday. Monday may see heavier rain. So bye bye snow. From the looks of the long range forecasts, there is really no cold weather in sight except for possibly a couple of days next week. The snow is melting, my road is getting down to bare ground again and it's nice walking the dogs without heavy coats, hats and gloves on.

As for this Colliemom today, I need to run a vacum around the house and wash my hair this morning. Then I am going to wrap up that camping sign project and start on finishing up the cover I made for my stove top in the TT last summer. Decided to add a couple of more inches to it and also found some stick on tiless for the top. Last summer was a trial run to see how it worked so I never completed it.

I also got some lumber yesterday and built the girls a new box to jump into my truck with and will take my saber saw out and cut a hand hold into the side for me to pick it up with. Don't want to put any handles on in case they should slip or something. Don't want a paw getting caught. I have it covered with an old rubber backed rug, turned upside down.

The sun's up, the skies blue and it's time to get moving around here. Have a wonderful day all.

Don't feel bad Carolinagirl. I lost two posts this mornng. Got that same message about the webpage being busy. But I have a tip for those of you who post and are having trouble. Before you make your post, hghlight it, hit CTRL C to copy it to your computer and then if you submit it and lose it, you can just CTRL V and it's all back again. But make sure you copy it again in case the second post disappears as well. Saved me this morning doing that and I will keep doing it.

Good morning all, I understand lost posts. I think my magic mouse is my problem sometimes I barely touch it and I am whisked to never never land. But when I do get a post ready I always copy it just in case.
Sun is out and it is crisp outside right now but supposed to warm to sixties and into the seventies tomorrow! Will be quite a shock from the damp, cold rainy days in the low forties we've been having. I'm looking forward to this afternoon as I have a massage appointment....bliss!
Soos it might be your bank and not the government responsible for your late SS deposit, unless the system has changed the bank gets interest for everyday that money is in 'their' account.

Good morning!

Well, our renters seem to have fallen through... not too worried about it, but would have been nice to have someone we trust living in the house while we are away. Got confirmation that a potential buyer is pursuing financing to buy our health club and meeting with another potential buyer this morning. Lot's of folks asking, so that's a positive things.

Copy and paste for posts is a good thing. Sort of goes along with Save and Save often. Computers are funny things.

Hooray for camping trips! I started seeking out camp spots along our summer route yesterday. Gettin' all excited :P Carol, hope you have a great trip.

We make those jumping up boxes too; we make people jump on them. Seriously. Jump up, jump back down, jump up, jump back down, jump up........

Weather looks good here today. Wore my flip flops and short pants out at 6am to take hubby downtown. Spring is on the way!

Doing a little radio, a little sorting (what goes in RV, what stays at house), some phone calling, some personal training and teaching and leading some presentations tonight. Full, busy day and loving it!

Enjoy your Wednesday!

p.s. Those of you feeling under the weather... you are not alone... it's going around here like crazy and for most folks lasting 1-2months. uck.

Good morning everyone!

We had a rainy night and it's damp around the edges this morning with a gray, dismal sky. It is supposed to clear this afternoon and tomorrow is supposed to be sunny with temperatures in the 60's and warmer than that on Friday.

My father is finally home from the hospital following his second carpal tunnel surgery on the same hand. My sister from Florida will be leaving tomorrow afternoon to go back to Florida. I have offered to spend the night with my parents tomorrow night and take Friday off from work to take Dad to his 9:00 doctors appointment. Dad said they are very independent and won't need anyone at the house tomorrow but will need a ride to his appointment. So I may still take a vacation day and chauffeur my parents around on Friday. Another sister from NC and her hubby will show up later on Friday to stay the rest of the weekend with my parents. So I will check in on them on a daily basis to make sure they are ok. It is so sad to see them age like this.

I will make a trip into town after work to gas up my car and get a workout in. I'm not sure if I'm going to make shrimp scampi for dinner or ham and sides. I'll decide that later.

Take care everyone & enjoy your day!

Good Morning everyone... a beautiful day so far here in Fl... I had a very nice surprise yesterday afternoon... Shadow started barking what else is new... I got up to see what he was barking at... and there stood my friend Angela! She just got back from Switzerland monday evening... she had a wonderful 3 1/2 month visit with her husband and traveling to different places... she is retired and has a very good retirement she worked for the United Nations... she speaks 5 languages so she was in demand... what an interesting life she has... she is at the old park at Sportsman's cove where I spent last winter and two months of this winter... they have a small class c that they leave there... she will come for lunch next week... so we will have a great visit with Molly, Angela and me...
I will sure miss my friends here when my time is up... but there will be joyful reunions next year...

I have a different kind of coffee this morning Maxwell usually use Folgers but Sweet Bay did not have it so will have to get used to this taste now... I got powdered creamer so I will not even have my international dairy creamer!

Today will be busy as I sew the panels... you say finally I say really finally!!!

I trust what ever your day holds you will find time to think of our neighbors and friends and family in Japan with good thoughts and prayers... I made an error about my Nephew and his wife they are in southern Japan not Tokyo... she is expecting their first child... Dustin and Keiko...
Kathleen
After I posted I saw your post Irmi... so glad you have some relief with your dad home from the Hospital... and glad you will have another sibling visit soon...
Kathleen or Kathy

Use today wisely it's all you have; yesterday is a memory; tomorrow a dream... KLW[/b][/color]

Good Morning to All from foggy foggy Mazatlan. I have on my sweats this morning - forgot to plug in the little electric heater last night.
Our days in Mexico are quickly winding down - part of me is glad part of me is sad. Today we're going to the little town of La Noria so The Driver can visit with one of the leather workers there and let him know where we shopped for and bought good leather in Guadalajara - it is cheaper than where he buys his. After that don't know what we'll do to fill rest of day.
Picked up my new sunglasses yesterday love them - wide frames to keep the glare out and a lighter tint to the lenses so I can read maps inside the heavily tinted windowed car. The glasses are bifocals - $45 US - cheaper than the highways for sure. The optomitrist also fixed my old sunglass that broke about a block from his shop. Talk about good timing if it had to happen. While fixing them he lent me a pair of tinted plain glass ones to wear. No charges.
We have been around Mazatlan so much that when we drive down the streets lots of people call and wave to us when they recognize the Jeep. As we parked in a lot in downtown yesterday we heard a yell and one of our Mexican friends stopped her car in the middle of the street and came running into the lot to give us hugs - glad we were back in town. Traffic backed up half a block. Gotta love this place.
Today a couple of cruise ships will be in so the old downtown will be full of tourist - not saying we aren't tourists - I still am fascinated by the smiling pigs heads in the meat market. Yesterday we bought a mango - to my knowledge I've never tried one. Turns out I really like it - will have to see if I can find them at home.
Hope everyone gets feeling better - no fun being sick - and hope weather is heading into the warmer season. Seems like it has done nothing but rain at our house for the last weeks.

Soos, check with your bank. My SS was right there this AM. The only time mine was late was when the bank screwed up.

good morning ladies
wish I could say I'm feeling better but the truth is..my body hurts. My muscles are sore and
everything feels like mush. Sinuses are still ok but cough is worse. But I'm hungry, so will
eat some breakfast and see what the day produces for me to do. Gracie is fine btw, her
little tummy bout lasted only one day and she is back on her regular routine.
Off to get some breakfast now.

Soos posted in the singles forum it was there an hour or so later. I think she just was looking too early - before the bank got it posted to her account :)

Wheeeee!! 57 and sunny in lower Michigan today! Looks and feels like Spring.

Supposed to be 58 tomorrow and about the same on Friday, except cloudy on Friday. Not even any rain for a few days.

This ought to melt the last of the snowbanks piled in parking lots and the very few drifts left. Daffs and other bulbs will be a few weeks, however, and ground is still very, very wet--wouldn't walk on it yet.

I'm just thankful for the sun. Called into work sick because I was up half the night and had a horrible headache this morning. I was able to get a couple more hours of sleep, which felt wonderful! Nothing much to do at day-job, so this will allow me to get a few papers graded. (I don't get paid for time missed, so not really skipping.) It is end of the semester and everything is due next week for teaching job--don't know how i will make it, but if it means late nights, will do it. Then next semester starts a week later on March 28. No time between at all, but at least the first few weeks will be a little slower with shorter stuff to grade. (College has four condensed semesters a year, with only a three-week break in December.)

Going out to run an errand in sunshine and wearing a spring jacket!
