Seeing the Elephants

Postby mtngal » Sun Mar 13, 2011 6:37 pm

Yesterday I got visit ARK 2000 in San Andreas (owned and operated by PAWS, Performing Animals Welfare Society) to spend the day 'seeing the elephants'. It was the best day. I posted the story in pics on my blog. Here are a couple.....

This is Mara, an African elephant....

And a tiger (whose name I don't know, there were 36)....

What a wonderful day? Where is this and how do you get to visit? Do they allow children or only adults?

Thanks

People who help animals like that, are so wonderful and amazing! These animals finally get the freedom, respect and love they deserve! People who exploit animals should be made to live in cages and tied up with chains and whipped daily, to see how they like it!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Last week someone robbed the PAWS store in Portland at gunpoint. PAWS sells secondhand goods to help raise money. Sad desparate times for humans and animals, I guess. :(

"Here, kitty, kitty, kitty....." I just want to snuggle that big kitty!

Must have been wonderful to be in the presence of these magnificent animals!

That sounds like it would be an interesting place to visit. The cats are so beautiful. There used to be a place right outside of Los Angeles that Tippi Hendren owned that took in wild animals that people wanted to get rid of - wonder if its still there?
