Been Icky Sicky

Postby kdmac » Thu Mar 10, 2011 2:25 am

For the last nine days I have been weak and nauseous, very likely the beginning of the end! I have never really felt this way before, not nausous enough to up-chuck but enough to not eat and have that hard to explain creepy nausea all day and night. And weak....I would get up and check my email but not have enough stamina to write back, made a few phone calls instead. So, it's just another thing I have noticed in the "gone-to-seed" portion of life...but, I am slowly regaining.

Last night the wind blew hard with constant gusts of 65mph and it still is doing that again tonight...the trailer is rocking, rolling and swayin like crazy. Likely won't get much sleep tonight...it's so loud, just howling and I worry about stress on the trailer and of course crashing rain coming in sideways is pretty noisy too.....Today I had an appointment for a new Tonneau cover for my truck so I had to head out 70 miles over the mountains this morning to a town outside of Portland Oregon where the truck accessory outfit is. Got home from there and took a nap. I have decided when my month is up on 3/16 I will head out of here to a park on the Wilson River in the coastal Range and stay there. In the Spring that river can get crazy wild if the Spring rains are heavy but there is no snow melt to affect it. But the winds will not be as tremendous.

When I bought the new cushions for my dinette I cut the old cushions into shapes that plug the ceiling vents and skylights so they are more quiet with the pounding rain. That was so easy since they cut so easily with any knife.

I would like to wear earplugs due to the roaring wind and crashing rain but figure I may miss hearing something critical during the night. so better not. Gonna be a long night.

KD, for heavens' sakes----get thee to a doc and find out what gives! Aging should not be making you feel like that. (Unless you are over 100 years old, or something!) I hate to think of someone feeling so icky for such a long time, and the weakness is not good, either. I hope that storm is over now, and that you can at least get some sleep. Stay in touch and let us know what's up with you, please?

So sorry that you have not been up to par lately. I try to keep canned chkn and also mushroom soup for sick days. However, I have gotten some of the dry packaged chkn soup as it will keep in a smaller space and I won't pick it up and use it when I am well. The wind is usually a concern to me as I have seen truck turned over with winds at high velocity. That doesn't happen a lot, but the mathematical probability is there and the gusty will start a rocking then boom. One of the reasons that if you can park into the strong wind pattern - either front of back. Look at the trees and park with their lean. But you know that!

Looking forward to your new cg. You do such a wonderful PR job for your area of abode. Take care of yourself and get to feeling better soon. Did you get the tonneau on the truck and just love it?

Sorry you haven't felt well sure hope you are on the road to recovery. Might not hurt to check with a doc though even if you are feeling better. You could wear earplugs if you had a dog to listen for you during the night and day for that matter. ;) but maybe moving out of the wind will help.

I can commiserate - no nausea here, but have come down with the worst cold I've had in years. I pulled out my meds and remember buying them in Port Aransas, TX in the summer of 2008 - when most of the cg was getting a terrible cold, so I prepared, but only got a touch of it. Well, 3 years later I have the full-blown version. Yuck. But I don't blame this on age, and neither should you. You have some bug and you need to fight it. You don't want to eat, but you need to - soups, yes. Juice, yes. Lots of liquids - and as much sleep as you can get. And before you know it, you should be feeling better. But if you don't start feeling better, I'll go along with the get yourself to a doctor (something I'm hard-pressed to do, also).

Hope you're feeling good soon. Great, actually, forget just feeling good. But good is a place to start!

I have been wondering how you were faring the high winds on the coast we've been hearing about on the Portland news. It's windy here today inland so I imagine it's still rocking you around there, too. I think that would get old after a while. I know my dog would be freaking as well. I hope you go inland and get some rest. Please go to Urgent Care or somewhere to get checked out, too. Take care of you! Hugs!

KD, have missed you on here, Soooo sorry to hear you've been so sick. I wonder, do you get seasick, you said the TT was a rockin and rollin. Could that maybe be the cause of your sickish stomach? Then the concerns of the high winds and not being able to rest well because of the noise, If not, hate to say, but its not old age, so you should think of getting yourself in to see just what the problem is. Hopefully the move in away from it all, will see you feeling much better. You must drink a lot of liquids though, as Beth suggested as you will dehydrate and then you will be sick.

Keep in touch, let us know how you are doing.

KD,

I don't know if it's been going on out in the PNW, but there has been a very strong stomach flu bug going around in MI here this winter and people I know who have had it, have said they have been naseous and all that. Think they had to get an antibiotic for it. Might want to check with a Dr. or walk in clinic it if keeps up.

I know all about that wind noise stuff. Was in 40 mile an hour gusts last year when camping by a lke up here. Very noisy and your winds are a lot stronger than that. Yep, sounds like time to head inland and away from the coast a bit.

When you get to feeling better and and able to post on here again, would you mind telling me what you are using to hang your pictures up in your TT. I really like that TT. So homey.
