DISCOVERY LANDS SAFELY!

And I HEARD its sonic boom!!! What a thrill to be in on this history! I watched the landing live on TV, with all my doors and windows open, and it boomed here over my house quite a while before the TV's sound in Canaveral picked it up there. And a healthy BOOM it certainly was! Molly leaped up and got a bit panicky for a bit! How about you girls, Kath and Liz and Beth and Carolyn and Margie and anyone else down here in FL? If you were within any distance of it at all, you couldn't have missed it or mistaken it for anything else. It is home and safe and sound. I would love to go visit in in the Smithsonian when it gets ensconced there. I am hoping they will allow the public to actually go inside for a first-hand view.

Perfect day and perfect landing!

So glad to hear that. I was really worried about them getting back down safely. But I was listening to books on tape. Watched them on the NASA TV station do the 'fly around check' before getting ready to leave the space station.

I do worry about what's going to happen now in the space 'thing'. The Russians now have the ability to go up and hold Earth hostage, so to speak.
