THE FIRST MONDAY OF MARCH

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

THE FIRST MONDAY OF MARCH

Postby Colliemom » Mon Mar 07, 2011 7:40 am

Good Morning everyone,

Everybody up and at em this morning? Soos, if you get on here this mornng, check your email. I sent you a l link to some truck caps that mght be just the thing you are looking for to go back and forth and some quick overnight campig trips.

It's a cold clear morning here at the 45th. Supposed to cloud over later on. Looks like another storm heading this way for midweek again. Rain/thunderstrms, freezing rain, snow. The line will move north as it comes into the Great Lakes region. Ah, the joys of March in Michigan. Never know what mom nature is going to throw at us. But it also tells us that spring is coming.

Was such a georgeous day yesterday that the furkids and I went for a long walk across the highway, soaking up the warm sunshine and enjoying the fresh snowfall from the day before. It was so pretty, that I forgave mom nature for dumping it on us winter weary souls. Ran into two friends out on their snowmobiles out enjoying the ride as well.

Nothing on the agenda for today. May go down and gas up my truck later on here, plan to take the girls over to the park for a walk and see the head ranger to see what the latest news is. Want to go see my neighbor who is up here for a few days and leavng tomorrow. She's been having some lookers at the house, so that bodes good. Plans to stay up here for a couple of months this summer if the house doesn't sell in the meantime. I should go and talk with the folks at the SS office, but not really in the mood for a 100 mile drive today. Want to find out just what's what, face to face. Got some questions, need some answers etc. type of thing. The way things are going, I think I am going to wait a couple of more years before I retire. Would love to find a workamping job down south someplace to get some funds over the winter as the park work is only 5 months and that money doesn't really go far for a 12 month year.

So I'm off to see what else is going on around the forum. Have a great day all. Enjoy it to the fullest.

Good Morning everyone and Sue thanks for opening the coffee room... mine is pumpkin spice... it is good and warm need that as the temp was 45 when I got up it will recover into the mid 70s later... I have a blanket over my lap so I will be warm while I write this note... need to unhook and get lp but am not in the mood to do that job...
Molly and I will go shopping today and I need my hair cut so that will be on the list also...
When the weather warms up there are three of us ladies that will band together and wash our motor homes or tt... that will make the job so much more fun... now if they would only come home with me and help me wash my Mobile Home... oh well we always wish for more... but this is truly enough...
I hope Birdie you are almost home... my prayers are with you... take care and drive carefully...
May everyone have a good day and sit in the sunshine...

Good-morning, Everyone !!! Just can't leave here for a day or so because I get so far behind I will never catch up. Reading the morning post since Fri., I find that LIz did really well with her moving sale and looks like she will be off that property very soon. Shouldn't be hard to clean with everything out of the house. Way to go Liz, we'll all be anxious to follow you in your new way of life and adventures. Also very glad you are so good about pictures, so we will get to see along with you.

I was soooo happy to see that all my Sistahs, made it through that terrible Sat. storm we had. I was really worried about you Birdie, driving in it. Also was glad to see Martha and Vickie, (the Vickie who has Ronnie, I can't say mean Vickie). :P , posting.

Lenora, I sure hope you have had a better day since the day, you really should have stayed in the bed :o Doesn't help that we have all had those days, when its your turn its the worst day ever. All of our rigs in time, end up with little boo boos, here and there, some we fix, others we just know what we did. You know what would fix all the boo boos and moody days we are all having is to just get in our rigs and gooooooooo.

Barbie, I am so glad you got Lola inside. She is a beauty and sounds to me, just wanting to be loved. Good for you having such patiences to wait her out.

Soos, the set up you have with your truck and tenting attached you showed us last yr., looked to me to be a great set up for camping and traveling. I know what dealers show you in their trade ins, etc. Sorry to hear they aren't doing any better then they did 20 yrs. ago. The cost of new ones, almost pay to buy a small trailer, wouldn't it?

No real news from here, cold again, rain brought temp way down. Still cleaning, sorting and sick of the whole mess   . Just ready to get out of here. Last week had thoughts of getting my rig unwinterized and just going somewhere, but glad I procrastinated, as last night had another freeze. My daffodils, are gorgeous, and know they will get at least one snow on them, before our winter is really done here. Always so pretty when that happens, green leaves and pretty yellow flowers setting in total white ground. Even though so pretty, I am really soooo done with winter this year.

Have a great day everyone, and after you do what you just have to, do something you really enjoy and have fun for part of this day.

Good Morning to All - it is chilly here this morning. We are in Guadalajara at an RV park that every year goes a little further down hill. Took us a while to find an electric hookup that would work. but it is 30 amps so that is good. Also got the Satellite dish up and working but not until this morning (lots of trees here) - had an adventurous day yesterday getting here and again expensive in tolls.
Bill wants to go to some tanneries ang get leather while we're here ..... and we need to find a laundry. And make a trip to walmart to restock. its right acrosss the street but then we have to drive 5 miles in the wrong direction to get back to the rv park!!!
Hope the weather clears for everyone and starts to Spring up soon. Have to do some reading to catch up on what I missed yesterday and the day before when the satellite went down.....

Good morning all, it's chilly and cloudy here too but supposed to warm up. My friend who was coming from Michigan on Sat.to visit is snowed/iced in and so had to cancel. So disappointing ,she lives near Big Rapids so when Sue said they were having ice and snow at her place I should have realized it might interfere with my friends travel.

I'm not looking forward to my yoga class, Sat was too hard and my legs are still complaining. A group of us 'mature' ladies requested this Monday class but a group of younger people started coming and it just isn't working for us now. So going to chat with the instructor to see if she can accommodate us because if not, it looks as though all are going to quit going. After a certain age if you haven't done yoga for years there are just things one can't or shouldn't do but at 32 it is hard for her to understand I think. And it has made me grumpy which I don't like :( Maybe it is just the dreary weather, after the teasing promise of spring we had with those warm days. I should be glad I didn't have a day like yours Lenora! Hope all is better now.

For some reason we are having the worst mole year ever and Winnie has decided digging for them is fun. She came running in from the yard yesterday and I didn't notice but when she got to the living room I heard DH say WHAT have you been into Winnie!! I went to look and she was covered in mud in the front, ears and all! What a mess, I was in a hurry to get to church so just got off what I could and cut off the rest!! She needed a summer cut anyway, just did part of it a little early

Good morning! Nice to catch up with all of you. Man, there is a lot to catch up on missing just one day around here.

Snowed overnight here, woke up to white all around, but didn't take long for things to start melting off. Still snow on ground, but the trees and bushes are already bare again. Spectacular cloudy skies this morning. Very dramatic.

I've got lots of work to do and still waiting on this potential buyer to get back to me so we can take the next step toward our RV adventures.

Have a great day all!

I missed morning coffee, but got a lot accomplished this morning none-the-less. First I returned unused boxes to U-Haul for a refund. Next was one-stop shopping at the tag office, where I was able to change the address on my vehicle registrations, drivers license (plus renew that til 2020), and voter registration. Thought those would require 3 stops, so saved a lot of time. Could have saved more time if I'd looked at my Passport before going to the Courthouse. You don't have to update anything there, as your address isn't on it. You just pencil in your information on one of the pages. So that's done. Still organizing "stuff" I put in the RV....will be doing that for awhile.

I have a couple more phone calls to make. Need to call RV Service place to see if they can check my hot water heater. Birdie and I noticed some rust on the fittings and want to be proactive before a leak happens.

This afternoon I will continue to clean in the stick house....the laundry room floor especially needs it where the washer and dryer had been sitting.

It's a cool day today, but sunny, so not complaining. Dogwoods and azaleas are blooming here...very pretty, but other pollens that occur at the same time play havoc with my allergies.

To all those still affected by snow, ice, and freezing temps...take heart, signs of Spring are coming soon.

Working on my second cup of coffee, yeah, I know it's late enough. Had blueberry pancakes this morning for breakfast, then went to Wal-Mart in the next town up the road got some flaming hot cheeetos, washed my car and went to the farm. Had dinner, came back to the rig, dumped and cleaned out the black and grey water tanks. Now drinking my second cup of French Vanilla and it is strong, Yuk, don't like it that strong, but maybe because I reheated it. Watching a killdeer in the field outside run around looking for food.

Is a cloudy day here and the wind is really strong blowing out of the South. Predicting rain tonight and possible thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon. So will have to rethink my travel plans and wait to see what the weather is going to do. Having driven thru the OMG storm in LA I don't want to do that again.

Hope your day was great and you did something fun.

Liz, sounds like things are falling in place according to a Great Plan. Saying a prayer for Ant B!

Good afternoon ladies!

I'm late checking in but was busy at work.

The weather yesterday was very mild and later in the day we got heavy rains and lots of wind. The winds have blown out the milder temperatures and with the wind chill, feels like winter again. I have lots of flowers popping up out of the ground in my flowerbeds, so spring will be here soon.

I just got home from my workout and will be getting shrimp scampi going for dinner soon.

I hope everyone is well. Please stay safe, whether you are home or on the road.

Birdie, hope the winds and bad weather stay away from you so that you can make the trip necessary. But if they are there, yes, please, stay put and stay safe.

I traveled all of 32 miles today - from one state park to another. I'm told this one I'm at for the next 7 nights is one of the most rustic of the FL state parks. So far, I like it lots - as I like rustic. It's far in from any roads, so will be very, very quiet here. Only about 30 campsites, I think. This state park says they have over 100 bird species - so hoping I'll see something new to me. Peaches and I walked one of the nature trails this afternoon (it's right off the cg, so will probably get walked every morning) and then checked out a long trail we'll do another day and walked way way down to check out the boat landing where I'm hoping to kayak out of (if the weather permits - I actually am running one of my little electric heaters right now).

Many cardinals I've been watching from my windows in the rig. Am almost thinking about getting out my bird feeder, but don't think I'll get to that until I reach PA. And I'm laughing at getting out the heater - I mean, I am heading up north where it will be much colder than this for awhile! I'll probably have both heaters out!

Liz, so glad it was easy to get much of that paperwork done.
