Day at the beach - photos

Postby BarbaraRose » Mon Mar 07, 2011 1:09 am

Here are some pics of my day in San Juan Capistrano and Dana Point Beach.

Drive over the Ortega Pass in the Cleveland National Forest:

Beautiful mountain drive:

A fun souvenier shop in San Juan Capistrano:

The San Juan Capistrano Mission (this is where the swallows migrate to every March)

A cool house overlooking Dana Point Harbor:

The rocks and tide pools at a Dana Point beach:

Rock covered in mussels:

Well, I got kicked out of photobucket and can't get back in, so will try again later for the rest of the pics...
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

This is an old stagecoach/mail stop on the Ortega Pass:

Right next door is this place- Hell's Kitchen, a biker stop:

Another view of Hell's Kitchen. The place was crawling with bikes when I passed it earlier in the day:

Another mountain shot on the way home:

Anyone know how I can post a video on here? I have a cool one of a tide pool with lots of activity.

Cool.....the only videos I posted were through PB. It showed up here as a pic and you needed to know to click on the pic so that it would take you back to PB. I would think you might be able to post on U-tube with a link. Have never done it myself......

With Youtube, all you have to do is copy the URL of the video you want to link to. I went back and checked when I did it once, and there was no special code at all - just paste the URL, like this (notice there is NO special code, like , in your post...
You don't have to click the link - it's just an example that I know worked in the past.

I don't know about the rest of you ladies, but every time I look at the pic of Hell's Kitchen signs, right under the reader board, it looks like somebody with grey shorts and an arm reaching in the side and pulling them down some. Anybody else see it like this or is it that I'm just looking with the wrong side of my brain? (shut up Mitch)

I can see what you are looking at, and with a twisted brain, it could look that way. Not sure what it actually is tho.
(go for it Mitch!)

I always get excited when I see that you have posted pics...as always these were just wonderful..I understand why people are so drawn to CA..it has so much diversity. Did anyone else notice in the 'fish caught in the pool' that the rock behind it looked like a fish too. Now, I might have ask before but will write down this time, what is your camera? Not that it's all camera...taking photos is a talent and no doubt you have it but those of us with very little talent need all the help we can get

I hadn't noticed that before, but yes that does look like another fish with the two "snails" as the eyes.

I have a Kodak Easyshare Z915. It does take good shots (10 megapixel/10X zoom), but I have had some problems with it after only using it a year, so I wouldn't get another one. I like my older Olympus camera, or Canon Sureshot I used to have.

I do love taking photos and appreciate all of your compliments!
