Soggy Saturday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Soggy Saturday

Postby Birdie » Sat Mar 05, 2011 6:07 am

Looks to be a bit rain soaked here in this part of the south. Looks like the whole gulf coast from Alabama to Houston will get different types of rain. So guess I'll have a fresh water bath for Bunkie today. Probably be a muddy rig in about 10 miles of travel. So driving today will be a little slow until I manage to get thru the rain. Looked at driving North to I-20 and going across that way, but they are getting rain too. So may as well be the devil you know.

Saw where Yakn1, the nice Vickie, is going to look at a TT today. The floor plan looks like it will fit what she is looking for. So hope it works whatever way she wants.

Liz is selling her yard today. So we hope she has good weather to get all that marvelous stuff outta the house. Also hope her relocation is going smooth for her.

Well, the coffee this morning will be Chocolate Macadamia Nut. So if that is your flavor better hurry in and grab a cup. Bus leaves at 7:30 this morning and the coffee needs to be gone by then. Hope everyone out there is safe on the road and warm and dry in the campground. Have fun doing something for yourself today and then come tell us all about it.

Good Morning Birdie (Nancy) glad you are progressing toward OK... I have never tried Chocolate Macadamia Nut coffee but it sounds very good... anything with Chocolate sounds good to me...
Shadow decided to upchuck at 6 this morning so got up and let him out before he heaved all over the bed!! So am sitting here with a cup of coffee and waiting for the ground to dry up and 8 to come so I can get a shower and do a load of laundry... Molly got here got set up and we had a nice visit yesterday afternoon... her lot is odd so she had to back in strangely to get past a tree... like McIntosh go around trees do not disturb them... :D
Finally the swelling has mostly gone from my body mostly feet and legs... I am sure it was the 85 degree weather that caused it...
Oh Liz you will have a very good day for a sale... I hope everything sells and you are only left with good memories of your time in that beautiful house...
Have a good day and drive safe or sit in the sun my friends...

Good Morning Birdie and all who follow,

So glad to see you started the coffee this morning. And as I write this, you are probably on the road again. Drive carefully in the rain. No fun there. But as you said, free bus wash.

I wish we had that rain up here rather than the snow that is coming down. But the rains will come to us eventually. It's been snowing since late last night and there is probably 2-3 inches out there right now. But it's the typical spring type corn snow, as skiers would call it. Mixed with rain, it is more of a granular type snow. Very wet. So later on today, I will haul out one of my blowers and just clear off my drive. And do my neighbors as well, since she is here right now. Won't take long cause don't do as much as I do in the main part of winter. Just a few passes up and down and that's all. Then will clear off the deck for the girls. The rest can melt on it's own.

But first thing this morning is house cleaning. Still snowing out anyway. Won't take long to do the house, then probablly have a quick little lunch and head outside. Temp is around 28, so it's not that cold out either. Ah, the joys of spring coming into northern Michigan. Never know what it will be when you wake up in the morning.

So time to get this morning off and rolling. Have a great day all. Keep safe, warm and dry.

GOOD MORNING ALL!

Good to hear from you this morning, Birdie, and I love your flavored coffee! Sorry you have to drive in the rain....that's no fun at all. Just be careful, as I know you will, and pay attention to Geraldine, unless she is having a confused, bossy day!

I would love to head your way, Liz, to see what you might be selling that I could use----probably a bed, for sure. But I will be heading in another direction today.

Today will be another warm, and mostly sunny day before the rain front settles in for tomorrow----and I do hope it gives us some substantial rain this time.

I plan to head for Plant City (name of a town) to see a used truck camper they have there at an RV dealer. They have several, but only this one short bed model. I would LOVE it if I can get them to come down to a price I can afford without any drastic or long-term debt. My trips back and forth to here would be GREATLY improved, and I would have a rig to use for summer camping back home as well, without having to haul a trailer. If I like this, I believe I will go for it, one way or another, come back to St. Cloud and remove my camper-bed top which I will either post and sell or store at my son's to use when not using the slide-in camper. I need to be mindful that I cannot have the camper when I park here at this danged homeowners' association-ruled development. Nothing is easy!

Molly's belly and under-arm areas and leg crotches are vastly better this morning, so either this new spray-on anti-itch-hot spot stuff is working, or the change back to her old stand-by diet is working, or both are working. No more Beneful dog food for us!

We went for a long walk yesterday, along Shingle Creek and the woods beside it, saw more deer, tons of birds of all sorts, and hovered under some sheltering palm trees when a sudden rain shower hit. We stayed amazingly dry!

My young friend and I had a good hour-long phone conversation yesterday morning, and I made sure to remind her how far she had come in a couple of years since her last re-hab session. Sometimes it's easy to lose recognition of progress when we are in the midst of anxiety and indecisions----she is to be congratulated on how far she has come. As for any decision as to what to do about her friend's offer, she will just continue being friends without making any promises or changes at this point. And, no-----I was merely the 'moderator'----not the decision-maker! I did find the right questions to ask, which caused her to reinforce her own feelings, recognize her accomplishments, and seek help with the behavior of her two young boys who are suffering some serious problems themselves, not surprisingly. I can only offer to be a sounding board when she needs one.

Off I go to get dressed to face the traffic on I 4 and try to find the RV dealer. Happy Saturday to all!

Soggy here this morning too but we need rain so guess it's a good thing. Soos, I hope the camper works for you that would make thing easier it sounds. Kathleen glad you are feeling better. Birdie hope you can cover lots of miles today in spite of rain. Sue, spring will come and your snow removal duties will end for a few months. My friend from Michigan is coming this weekend will be so good to see her. We have known each other since high school. Liz sure hope you do well with your sale today.
I have yoga today and not much else on the agenda. I should do some much needed dog grooming especially on Charley and get a few chores around here caught up, send me motivation thoughts!

Birdie, hope you don't run into any bad storms. It's headed East so once you get past it the weather should be clear but you will probably be in rain all the way across Louisiana. I just heard a strange alarm going off and it was our new weather radio. There is a severe thunderstorm with hail and 60 MPH winds West of here near Lake Charles. That one will go North of us but it's all moving East and coming off the gulf so we might get one later. It's raining hard now. The Spay and Neuter Clinic is having a garage sale/fund raiser and I thought about going but think I will stay home.

Good morning ladies,
A busy day for Liz, good luck with your yard sale Liz.
Soos, so glad you were able to help your friend with some decision making. She certainly
does need to be congratulated for her accomplishments and how far she's come.
Birdie, be careful driving in the rain.
The rest of you...grooming the dog, shoveling/blowing snow, cleaning house, routine
stuff, hope it all comes easy today.
and not to forget Barbie, so glad the kitty is inside and loving it!!
For me....I have about 7 hours to get stuff accomplished before its time to get to work.
Laundry of course, clean my room, grocery shopping,(I only buy a week at a time) but
hopefully that is going to change as I've been informed of a place to buy groceries where
the outdated stuff goes, and its really cheap! Have to still check the dates though, as I
would prefer to buy something dated yesterday as compared to buying something dated
a month ago :o . Its frozen anyway, but of course not all of it. Milk by the gallon is
just 25 cents and even if son only drinks half the gallon by the time the rest is old its still
worth it. Gaswise, the place is sort of close, at least on my side of town.
Speaking of gas...I really pist myself off when I filled my gas tank and used my 100 points
on my grocery card to get my 10 cent a gallon discount. Not thinking, I used my debit card
and that meant I paid full price. (They charge you an extra 10 cents to use a debit or credit
card) I was livid with myself, don't know why I didn't go to the bank and get cash, I always
do!!, but for some reason I was there and just didn't think. That mistake will not happen
again! So I'm out the 100 pts and paid full price for a tank of gas ($45) :x
Have a great day, be safe and enjoy some sunshine wherever you find it.

Mornin all!

It's headed to 80* here today -- quite a contrast over last weekend's 45* temps. Ahhh ... Southern California in the early spring! :) Today is cleaning lady day so I've got to get things picked up. I know ... She does an awesome job, but I don't like to have dishes in the sink when she gets here.

Tomorrow is Belle's big appointment at the nuclear medicine vet clinic. She's admitted tomorrow, and then will have her treatment on Monday. They even provide a kittie webcam so I can check on her throughout the day. When I get the link I'll post it so you all can see my hot -- literally -- kittie. :)

Soos -- will your truck support a camper? I always thought they had to have an extra-heavy-duty suspension for all of that bed weight. Just wondering ... Last October when I went to the large RV show here I saw a Lance with a slide-out that was awesome. But it could only be carried by a dually. Still, it's a pretty incredible setup. Might consider it when I retire.

Okay, gotta get those dishes cleaned up & myself showered. Have a great day everyone!

Good morning. I love reading your morning posts. It's been a busy morning and so much more to accomplish. Dropped hubby at health club, picked up some things at Target, hauled trash downtown, stopped at post office, took Stan to dog park, went grocery shopping. Now to finish laundry, clean up around the house, start taxes and make some phone calls.

I bought a nail buffing block at Target. Will do some toe and finger pampering tonight in front of a movie. :D

Got a really positive email - might still have a buyer for our health club, which means we don't have to shut it down and liquidate everything. Much better! We'll see.

Wishing you a beautiful day, whatever the weather. Safe travels for those on the road and joy and happiness to all.

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!

Wow, it's beautiful outside my 'screen door'. Temp is near perfect for me and the sun is shining strong. I'm loving it! :D

Good grief I slept like a log last night. Went to bed this morning at about 1:30am and slept until 11:15am! :o Sure hope that kind of long sleep doesn't mean I'm coming down with something. Have really been around anyone sick. Jodie next door isn't feeling well tho? She said a couple of guys from work are sick so that must be where she caught whatever it is? But even tho we've talked we haven't been with in 10 or 12 feet of each other. Jeeze, I don't want to come down sick.

Need to do some house cleaning today myself. Dishes, sweeping, vacuuming is Kelly's job as 'her' end of the trailer has the carpet. She will also be cleaning and tidying up her end. Will take breaks outside to enjoy the sun between cleaning chores. Also need to go clean the bathrooms and take a shower too! Will need the shower after we get done with all the cleaning anyway! The the dreaded chore of going to the grocery store. Gads I hate to do that. Spend lots of money for groceries and only end up with just a few bags to show the accomplishment! :x Have done so good at staying away from goodies at WalMart, just need to learn how the heck to not eat and stay out of the grocery store. Boy what a money saver that would be!!!!!! Sure would end up filthy rich if I could only figure out how to do that......

Birdie, be extra careful driving in the rain. Hope you run out of it soon! Soos, I just don't know how you handle that fast paced hectic life of yours now days. Good luck on the truck camper. Hope you know that even tho they are neater than neat that having that camper in the back of the truck will change the ride and handling. They kinda make the truck feel top heavy. The winds from passing cars, trucks and tractor trailers will buffet the whole unit and cornering will sure feel different.Liz sure hope you have an awesome selling day today. Get rid of all the stuff and get on the road to all your new adventures! WooHoo. Kathleen, glad to hear that your getting back to normal size! Kim I sure hope that buyer comes thru for ya, as yep! That would be so much easier!

OK, time to go read and catch up on what else ya'll have been doing and thinking. Hope all have a really wonderful day. Stay safe, dry and may the good fairy of happiness find each and every one of you.

Love to all

Just checking in ...late... to let you know I sold the yard and everything in it. Must have been due to all the well-wishes from my friends here. Thanks. That and the Lord who has really been with me throughout this transition. Don't need a second yard-sale day, so am going to church tomorrow.

Will be here in my RV this coming week to clean the house and do local errands, then will move to an RV park in McIntosh until the end of April. I'm a full-timer now! Closing on the house should happen within the next two weeks.

Birdie checked in that she made it through the weather and has landed in TX. Can't wait to hear what you thought of the truck camper, Soos. Ouch, Ava! Sorry about losing the gas discount. Sounds like something I would do.

Hope everyone accomplished what you set out to do today...and if not, then there's tomorrow.

Not too many people can say that they sold everything they intended to sell at a one day yard sale so you did really good. I'm guessing that 6 weeks in an RV park will let you know if your class b camper is big enough for full timing. Good luck.
