Tuesday on the move...

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday on the move...

"The time has come," the walrus said...

Painful as it is, It's time for me to leave this serene place, and bid my friends farewell. :( I simply must go home one more time, to take care of the business of moving out of my house and closing on its sale.

But then I will be free to take flight like the Osprey and soar with the wind! :D

I think Birdie is planning to leave today as well to visit another friend, and hopefully perhaps stop again at my house on her way back to Texas. Beth will just have to endure the peaceful quiet here all on her own until she too, must be on the move towards PA.

Wishing all who are traveling safe and pleasant journeys, and for those not traveling, some fun today.

Good Morning Liz and everyone else,

Beautiful pictures Liz. You do such a great job with pictures. What kind of a camera are you using? I love the one taken in the kayak.

It is hard indeed to leave a place you are comfortable with and enjoying. But at the same time, you know you will be able to go back and next time won't have a house to worry about. And that big wide open country is waiting for you to do more exploring too. I will find out this year, if it's in the cards for me as well. Good luck with your final move and closing on your house. Maybe you should take Soos back for a "Lobsterfest" celebration.

As for me here in the still chilly north country, I am not sure just where this day is going to lead. In a way, I am kind of in the mood to hit the road and take a little ride despite the darn gas prices. The girls would probably enjoy it too. Or we may stay home and do a few things here and then later go over to the park and do a walk.

I took our "furry boarder" up to the boarding kennel where he was originally supposed to go yesterday. It was just getting too much to put up with. My dogs were nervous and he was getting to where he would eat his food and then go eat some of theirs and if they happaened to come around, would snarl and charge them. So they couldn't get to their food either. And if I tried to make him stop, he snapped at me. That's when I decided enough was enough. It's one thing for a dog to make a slight growl at another dog when they don't want them to be near their food or whatever. Sort of a warning. But a snarling, snapping charge is another thing. My neighbor can't take him in either as she already has a houseful of dogs shes's sitting and has one that she says won't get along with Finn. So off we went. Actually he was really glad to see Elaine, the owner of the kennel/grooming business. He's been out there before and so is used to the place. So I think he might be more comfortable there. I'm sure he is going to get lonesome and maybe bored, but my girls are more important. I will check on him next week as Tessa is going out for a bath and grooming session. And then Sassy will go the following week. Elaine is really busy right now, so I said I would take mine out seperately so she doesn't get overwhelmed as they do take time to bathe, dry and groom.

But the girls are happy and much more relaxed now. Tessa is back in her bed next to my table here. Sassy just had "breakfast" and is outside enjoying the morning. So all is well in the dog world. They pretty much slept the day away yesterday. Very quiet around here. Just took a short little walk yesterday as neither of them were really into it. Today however.....

Ah, March is now officially here. And I did remember to shout 'Rabbits" this morning. The sun is working it's magic slow but sure, but I know winter isn't over yet. But before long I will be able to take the cover off my TT. Am looking forward to that day. But in the meantime, I will be finishing up projects etc. around here and getting ready for the outside spring cleanup chores which are yet to come.

Echo, when do you and Kelly head back up to the lodge for the season?

So have a wonderful day all. Enjoy it, have fun, travel safe if on the road, make plans, whatever.

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

Your osprey picture is a prize-winner, Liz!! I do regret not getting back to that place over the weeked, but I have to do what I can do, and saving gas money is one of of those things right now----if I ever wish to get back home, that is! It will seem weird to think of you no longer in that neat little house, and have you close to where I plan to be in the winters now. But I am sure you will find wonder in all the new places, and some old ones, as you meander the country and follow the wind. I am the one who should take YOU, this time, somewhere to celebrate your house sale and the closing! I see that I have a message from BJ, so maybe she will let me know where that roadtrek is, and I will take a drive to it and check it out. Happy trails to you and Birdie, and Beth!

I just can't fathom how it became March already. This winter flew by, unlike the long winter months back home. I am not so sure I want the rest of my life to go by so fast. Perhaps a winter of wood-gathering, stacking, digging out, shoveling, stoking fires, cleaning chimneys, emptying ashes, roof-raking and more would make me feel as if I slowed down a bit!

I am sitting out in my screen room this morning, listening to the gentle rain that is finally falling. The first words out of my mouth were, "It's RAINING!" and not, unfortunately, RABBITS! WOW, this rain smells so good, and I can almost see the grass leaves eagerly sucking it up. The birds are all out, bathing and preening. It will be a good day to make another large front window screen, do some cross-word puzzles, and just kick back a bit!

I see that it's only 9 above zero back home, so I feel very fortunate to be out here in a T-shirt and shorts, enjoying weather that would be like mid-summer back there. I have no large payment this month! I paid it off last month! YAY!!!! That's a bunch more money I won't have to write off any more! Of course, I still have my truck and my trailer and a small mortgage on this house. But those are manageable, and I have something to use and enjoy for that money.

Happy March to all of you, wherever you may be. Coffee is hot, hazlenut with French vanilla creamer, and sure does taste good in the pattering of this rain.
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Birdie and I waved goodbye to Liz - and Liz stopped at the end of the road and turned on her right turn signal (the road only goes left). So we knew there was something there. Last trip here we were able to get some great shots of a night heron, but hadn't seen him this trip. Liz drove on and Birdie and I walked down - and there he was - the night heron! So glad Birdie got to see him.

We might get some rain here today, also. FL needs rain badly. Temps are cooler today, cloudy and possibilities of rain. I've just finished up some work, so now will go see what else Birdie's found out there.

Have a great day, everyone.

Good morning! It seems like today is a day of change for many of us. I have just finished typing up the termination letter to give to our landlord today. And so the journey begins..... Next week we will let our members know that their favorite health club will be no more and we will be FREE.

My fuzzy cat Pierre is snuggled up on the desk between my arms and between my chest and the keyboard as I type. Belly up, snoring away. Sigh. I will miss this. My 10-month old grandson awaits my snuggles and kisses and so that makes it much easier to go.

Drinking echinacia tea to ward off any of the horrible illness that hubby is recovering from and I have so far managed to escape. Too much to do to be sick.

Enjoy this beautiful day and all it holds.
Choose to be happy!

Back home safe and sound. Supposed to be 70 today here, which will be a nice change from the cold cold weather we were riding in this past w/e. At least we didn't get wet, which was also a nice change for our annual ride to Arizona. BF had offered to buy me a heated jacket for Christmas and I said, nah, don't need that, but I'm really re-thinking that! LOL!

Spent to much time here catching up on posts and can't respond to all of them, but welcome to all of the new members and thinking of all of the rest of you guys!

Lots to catch up on here, so need to get busy, plus I want to get to the gym for a Zumba class. Hope everyone has a great day and those traveling, drive safe and have fun!

Hi travel pals! Another sunny day here in central CA before the next storm moves down the state. Thank goodness this one is more typical, rain for us and the snow will stay in high country.

I'm going to a 'free' senior golf clinic in nearest 'city' today. It's great fun, a good group of people show up at the driving range for a lesson and tips from these two very elderly gentlemen. They told me they have been doing this for four years for a total of close to 4000 people.

Liz, gorgeous photos, thanks for taking time to share them with us! Hope all goes well with closing of house this week.

Soos, better watch out what you wish for.....swimming in February or hauling wood? I choose swimming! ;)

And Kim, looking forward to tales of your adventures too!

Have a fun day everyone!

p.s. hey Sharon, you posted while I was writing, welcome home

Good morning everyone!

Liz, those pictures are so nice!

It's still morning on the east coast for a few more minutes. We didn't get any of the severe storms yesterday that the weather people said we were going to get, but the temperatures sure did plummet. We were close to 70 yesterday and we're only going to be in the 40's today. At least the sun is shining.

The "local to us" campground that we frequent put up their new rates for this year yesterday with lots of discounts available. It looks like they are trying to do things differently to entice people to come back to stay for the weekend despite the gloomy economy. I hope for their sake this helps them as it really is a nice campground.

I hope everyone has a good day, wherever you are and whatever you are doing.

Good morning all and a special thanks to Liz for the great photos.

I did remember Rabbits this AM but didn't help with my lottery win. AL does not have a lottery so I rarely play but did buy ticket on my way home from FL gtg. Just saw where the winning ticket was sold at a Publix near Soos!! If any of you FL ladies have ticket, better check them.

Bill paying day around here; nothing exciting on todays agenda. At least there is bright sunshine tho much cooler after yesterdays storms. Sprig is trying to get here.

Wishing all a fun day.
