Last Weekend Tornados, This One Snow!

Well, here I am, about 180 miles SOUTH of where I was last weekend and IT'S SNOWING!!!! :)

I don't have cell or wi-fi, but the campground has a communal computer. So I HAD to let everyone know that we're having quite the winter weather experience in Temecula. Tucalota Springs is at about 2500' and we've had lots of rain all weekend. About 30 minutes ago it started snowing. Right now it's just big, wet flakes and I don't know if it's going to stick, but it's beautiful nonetheless. I was able to get a couple of fun pictures of the snow on my car & I'll post them tomorrow when I get home -- if I can get out in the morning!

You'd think we'd never seen snow before, and I haven't actually been in it in many, many years, but it's sure a lot of fun.

Anyway, just thought I'd share the fun with you. I hope it sticks. Jed's never been in snow before and I'd love for him to get to play in it. Keep your fingers crossed!

Isn't snow fun when you know it's temporary and short-lived? Stay warm!

You are experiencing MN weather (tornadoes and snow)! I had a feeling you would see snow up there! I didn't see any snow today but Wildomar is at 1200 feet, but had heard from clients that it was snowing in Temecula. It is supposed to get to 29 here tonight so we may still see some flakes here, if more rain clouds come thru here.

Have fun Laura! I think it's funny you and Barbie were the ones bragging about how warm and sunny it was where you are and now look!

Well, after 45 minutes of big, wet, snowflakes the skies cleared and the temps plummeted, going down to 24* last night. I was warm and dry all night, keeping my little electric space heater on. I'd disconnected my water hose on Friday after filling up my water tank about 2/3, so I didn't have any frozen hose issues. I just love my little trailer! :) I'd also kept my car hooked up to the trailer (as did several other women towing trailers), so the getaway this morning wasn't hard. Just had to put up stabilizers and scrape off the thick layer of ice on the windshield. It was about 34* when I pulled out at 8:15, but the roads were dry.

Here are a few picture of the weekend. I went with the RVW SoCal Journers's chapter, and we had a delightful time. Friday night we played our version of "Minute to Win it". It was a hoot!

Trying to move an Oreo from her forehead to her mouth ... didn't get it:

Stacking 6 dice on a popsicle stick ... she got it:

Trying to extinguish a candle with squirt guns ... one got it, the other didn't:

Our team won. :) We had a fun time, and it was amazing to see the competitiveness come out.

Last night was the BIG event -- SNOW!!! Just as we finished our 10th Anniversary (of the Chapter's founding) dinner, it started to snow. We all took off for our rigs to get our dogs out and let them walk in it for a few minutes. Jed didn't know what to think, other than the fact that his mom was awfully excited about it. He just shook the flakes off from his coat & enjoyed the walk.

Here's a picture of my car & trailer in the thick of our 45-minute "storm":

It was beautiful this morning, but by the time I got to where I could take pictures I was on the freeway & didn't want to play with the camera while navigating the roads. But we're ringed by snow-capped mountains on three sides right now. It's absolutely magical. We didn't get snow here in Azusa, so I'm glad I was able to find some this weekend.

I go away again March 18-20 to an area near where I was this weekend (Lake Skinner). Hopefully the weather will be nicer then. But no worries -- my little Hideout can handle anything!

I'm not a full-timer, but really enjoy being in my RV when it's raining. I just feel so cozy.
Great pictures, Laura! Looked to be hilarious fun!

Looked like you had a lot of fun and games! Hard to believe you had all that snow just a few (25) miles from me and we didn't see anything here, altho you were at a higher altitude than I am.
(I may have to reconsider visiting you at Lake Skinner. You seem to be attracting odd natural phenominon for this area! What's next? A UFO invasion? :D )

LOL!!!

I know, Pat! But for this blood-thinned, Southern California kid, not being able to get the car door open 2 weekends in a row because they're frozen is quite novel! I don't remember when I was last in a real snowstorm, so being able to stand outside as these big ol' flakes came down was sheer delight. I'm just glad I wasn't snowed in and could get back to our 60* weather. :)
