Okay Lori,

I'm throwing in the towel. Gettysburg has been a place I have always wanted to go to and this is looking too good. Reserve me a spot too. I'll come for the whole four days. Figured it was better to book a reservation and maybe have to cancel than try to get in later on. Right now the coast is clear. Even if I am working, head ranger said go do it. She's takng a week off in August for a cruise, so........ I'm really looking forward to this. Chance to meet some of you wonderful ladies and also a chance to tow my TT long distance for the first time. Will be nervous I am sure, but gotta learn. :D

I am studying routes and think i may have one that will take me off the toll roads for awhile. But I am also watching gas prices. If they go too high, it might be impractical for me to incur a large expanse to drive that distance and back for 4 days. Could wind up ssaving it for a later trip to FL this winter and hopefully a GTG down there. We shall see. Right now, I am looking at taking my two days off from one week to add to a weekend which means I would leave MI on the Friday before the GTG, then leave on the 15th or 16th, whatever the last day of the GTG is and head back to MI. My work week starts on a Sunday and ends on a Saturday, so would probably want to get back to work by that Monday after if not Sunday. Quck trip in a way. Is everybody planning on staying the night of the 15th or what? I know we would be there for the night of the 12th.

Geez, it's almost Midnight and I finally got a signal.....Yes, I'm going to whine again this summer about my internet connection.....but hey, what can I say....I live with it every summer....lol...

That being said, I've brought this up to the top again to let you all know that I've made our reservations today.....I have a count of 7, thinking positive, 8 with Paulette coming....so we're all set here....(refer to last year's PA GTG threads for photos, etc....please...) the area has 10 sites together with 4 more really, really close...so those who have been thinking of coming we got room....I'm really looking forward to seeing all of you....

Okay, that's my update for now....and now that it is Sunday....Happy Easter, everyone!!!!

I don't have my June schedule yet, but am taking 2 days off during the gtg time to come out there. I will not be bringing my rv, so am hoping Peaches and I can find a bed somewhere. Will be happy to pay my share.

Can't believe how close we are to this gtg. I'm getting excited to see everyone.

As I find myself still in FL at this late date, it's entirely possible I could get to stop by this GTG on my way home. I plotted a route this morning, going from my planned route 17 off 95 to route 15 north all the way to 30, and then over to that campsite. I can't make reservations, as I can't afford to lose the money if I don't make it, but, if I get there, and there is a spot or me to park, I just may see you all. If there is no spot for me, I will park outside the gate and go to sleep for the night!

I also found a way to go to a KOA north and east of there which is just 33 mintues from my brother, and I could leave my trailer in that park and swing over to visit with him for a couple of days. It would be neat if they had a site I could just park at and not use any facilities that would be cheap enough to make this plan feasible. Just a dream, I know)

From there, as much as I dislike paying tolls, I guess I would take the northeast extension of the Penn. Turnpike north to 81 and head home, using the way I normally travel to his house without a trailer. It will be expensive, but, with gas prices being what they are, probably cheaper than backtracking to route 81 further south.

All of this is just conjecture at this juncture!

Soos, So glad to hear you may be joining us!! Now, let me make your route a little easier.....Instead of getting off US15 N to US 30....continue on 15 N, 2 more exits, getting off the 2nd exit which will be the "Heidlersburg/Biglerville"/PA Route 234 exit. Turn left at STOP sign and follow PA 234 W, going thru Biglerville and Arendltsville....pass the fair grounds.....a saw mill......a little farther the campground will be on the right side of the road. Sign out front will read "Conewago Campground". When you're ready to head North again....no need to do the Turnpike to get to I-81...we're just 15-20 miles from it....routing you from the CG, again on PA 234 W, to US 30 W, to I-81 at Chambersburg, PA......

Yes, there will be a site for you here....got 10 reserved for this and 4 more if we need them....UPDATE on the price, ALL.....$25/night...but still cheaper than other campgrounds, to include the State Parks, around here.....no reservation deposit as you pay when you get here.....so you got a place to park your "house on wheels"......

Hope this helps with your plans and can't wait to see everyone....a little less than a month til everyone will be here....everyone, let me know if you need more details on getting here....I'll keep checking as the signal allows here....it's been raining alot, so be patient, please....

Thanks for those modified directions, Lori----I printed them out and will put them with my maps, etc.!

Any problems going through those towns with my trailer that I should know about?

The price is great for a site there, but I need to wait as I am still not sure if this will be a definite go, or not. I was hoping to be home earlier in June, but.....who knows!

Lori I still plan on coming on Sunday and spending the day. Not sure who all will be there yet but hope to meet a few anyway. I sure wish I could have stayed the whole time, but with a kid still in school...

Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday.

Ernie says you shouldn't have any issues coming thru Biglerville and Arendtsville......but, if you or anyone else feel that they may need a "guide" in, just PM me for our cell number, and will send the Sultan out to help ya' in... ;) :D

Bring this back up to the top as we are T-minus 20 days til the 4th PA GTG!!!! :o As I said in an earlier post, driving directions can be found in last year's GTG....but if anyone wants to, PM me for them again.....and also if you need our cell number,PM for that, too.... ;) The Sultan says he'll come and guide ya' in if needed.....Can't wait to see you all....Can you tell I'm excited?!!!!!! :D :D

Plans include the battlefield, of course, the Adams County Winery, and if we have any horse lovers out there, maybe we can talk The Sultan into taking us to the Hanover Shoe Farms....and as usual, food, adult beverages, campfire, and lots and lots of chatting, laughing, etc.... ;) Or we can be as laid back as we want...we'll do the final planning on Sunday when everyone gets here....

Okay, that's it for now.....WooHooo....the Sistahs' are coming!!!!!

SOB----my daughter is arriving here in Orlando tonight and has just this week and a few days next week before she has some sort of meeting she has to be back in the north country for. So....on Memorial Day, or the day after, depending on the northward-bound traffic, we have to head straight home. No GTG, and no visiting my brother this time around. But the peace and comfort that having her along with me will provide, will make me very happy anyway.

Perhaps next year----who knows. I had my route all planned and plotted, too. Now we will just follow the same way I came down here, which was not too bad. Our only concerns will be the weather....things are no normal out there this spring.

I will be watching the pictures and posts from those attending the GTG, and missing the chance to see you all.

I'll be there in spirit!
