Santa Rosa Plateau again...

Here are some photos from my hike today...

This is the only cougar I saw. Would love to have this on my wall! Was hanging in the visitor's center.

A little fuzzy, a footprint of a coyote (note the claw marks, cats don't show those):

Ed brought his hockey stick to fend off cougars (I felt so much safer knowing that we were well protected! )

Barbie that guy is cute! Maybe he was just nervous, meeting you for the first time, maybe if yall go hiking some more he'll be more relaxed. Anyway, you got some nice pics, had a good time and had cougar protection!

Barbie, that guy was really cute, I'd give him another chance. Sure was a really nice pic of you too, you looked really good that day, he should have been really impressed. You take some of the nicest and prettiest pics on a hike. The flowers and those trees, especially the hole in the one. Great, Thanks so much for posting.

Thanks for the pictures Barbie, very pretty place to hike! Always more fun to hike with friends than by yourself. I'm glad you're making friends to go out with. We ride the Ortega Hiway on the motorcycles all the time...really fun! Plus it's the closest way over to the beach. Next time you go to the beach, go to Doheny...nice beach there.

He is cute! I told his sister that I would like to go hiking with them again. I had told him that if he ever wanted to go hiking sometime, to let me know if he wanted company.

There are lots of motorcycle accidents on the Ortega Hwy. Three in one day last week, one was a fatality. Then a car went off the road on Monday near that LookOut Road House and the driver died when the car went down the side of the mountain. So you really have to keep your eyes peeled to the road and watch your speed. They drive really fast along there, so I was always pulling into the turnouts to let people pass me.

I plan to drive that way again one of these days, over and down to San Juan Capistrano. I have been to Doheny Beach. That was on Christmas Day right after the monsoon rains we had in December and there was 6 foot high piles of debris all along the beach.

It is cold out today, definately jacket weather! Supposed to only get into the mid 40's on Saturday and snow into the lower elevations of the mountains and even the high desert areas (Joshua Tree) this weekend (not sure about here, tho). They are digging out of another 20 inches of snow back in Minneapolis this week!
