CLOUDY THURSDAY MORNING

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

CLOUDY THURSDAY MORNING

Good Morning Everyone,

And how are we all this morning :) Hopefully ready to tackle another day in our lives and whatever it may bring.

Cloudy here at the 45th this morning. Had just a little dusting of snow last night again. With the sun out all day yesterday, it melted away what little snow had come down on Monday so my drive is all bare again except for up near the road where the snow is a bit more packed down. Course now with the light snow from last night, it is covered again, but I expect this to melt as well.

Well, the talk in Nothern Michigan at the moment is the rise in gas prices. They have risen to $3.39 -$3.40 in this part of the state. And it is generating a lot of concern up here as this part of the state relies heavily on the tourism insustry for it's livelihood. With some areas of the state getting hammered with lake effect snows and some not getting much at all coupled with two major thaws already, it is setting up to be a dismal winter for the businesses who rely on the snowmobile folks. We should have full motels and busy restaurants, especially on weekends. And machnes running up and down the trails. Instead, the trails are quiet and the motels empty due to lack of rideable snow for the past two weeks. And the season has about a month left (trails close on March 31), but after about mid March, people start thinking other things as downstate areas head into more spring like weather. And businesss up here in early spring is dead anyway, so for those who are making minimum wages, especially waitresses who rely on tips to make up the balance of their paychecks, these gas prices are hitting them hard. Will be interesting to see how it affects the summer camping season. My guess is that people will still go camping, but maybe not going as far or as often. The local folks will be there and also hitting the picnic areas and beaches cause it's close to home for them. There are also a lot of questions being raised as to why the gas prices are so high up here, when the state average is $3.18.

Enought abut gas prices. Today I am going over to see the friied I was thinking of seeing yesteray, then found out she wasn't going to be home. Called another one down south of me here and they weren't either. Hmmmmm, two strikes already and it's only 9 a.m. So called my cousin and bingo, she was going to be home after she got done with her three tmes a week exercixe class. So I went shopping to stock up on some stuff yesterday morning and then went over to her house in the afternoon. Her sister also came over and we played a game called Quizzler. Never heard of it or played it before. Kind of like Scrabble, but you play with cards. Only these cards have letters instead of numbers like a regualr card deck does. Object is to make words. You start out dealing 4 cards, you draw and discard till you have a word and lay you word out. When every body has a word laid out, hand is over. There are small number on these cards too, so you add up your score. If you have any cards left that you didn't use, you subtract that number from your total. Person who makes longest word gets an additional 10 points. The game continues as the next hand is 5 cards and the next is 6, all the way to 10 cards on the last hand. And you can use the dictionary to look up a word you want to make to check spelling etc. or see if it is a word. It's fun. Going to look for it and buy one for me. Might be fun to take camping or even to a GTG. Good mind game.

So I guess it's time to go get my morning bowl of strawberries, let the girls in and get busy around here for awhle. Going to try and experiment on my little campsite sign with some glitter mixed into the paint. Then later I will go visit my friend. So have a great day everyone.

Much needed rain here this morning but not very cold thank goodness! Just found out a woman I know was in New Zealand during the earthquake. She and been right in the middle of Christchurch a half hour before it hit and were in a gondola-styled boat with the people she was traveling with near the city's botanical gardens when it hit. Realizing the damage, they decided to leave their luggage and rental car and head for the airport, which turned out to be closed. A stranger took them in until a shelter opened. The airport reopened Wed. morning and they are supposed to arrive back in the US on Friday. They found out the area where they had been just before they left on the boat ride is totally devastated. What a narrow escape!
Take care, keep the people in NZ in your thoughts and prayers today.

Good Morning Sue and Red... beautiful 80 degree day forecasted for Ocala today... I have a friend Bob who has lived all his life in NZ he answered my query letting me know he and his family were ok... He sent me a calendar several years back and had his home marked in red but it is at home and I had not remembered where he lived... it will be a long hard road for the small country to recover...
I had very strange dreams after I had gotten up at 4 to take half a vicodin for pain... must have put me into an odd sleep... coffee this morning will clear away the cobwebs...
The owner repair man came yesterday and I hope he has my water heater fixed... it is still damp in there from all the water that came out of the heater but by this afternoon I can take the fan out and wait and see what happens... I will clean the wood base shelf that is in there so it will not show damage...
Another MH came in and filled the spot where the other one left... they came late in the afternoon... I got up at 7 to let Shadow out and wa la they were gone... guess this was a stop over on their way someplace else...
I will work on hemming the lace panels again today... I may just get them pinned and pressed not sure...
I trust you all will have a day filled with surprises...

Good morning everyone!

It's another cold day in MD. Right now the sun is shining but we will have clouds coming in this afternoon bringing rain later today and tomorrow. Although we're only in the high 20's right now, we should get to about 50 degrees later in the day.

Only 2 more days left in the work week and then I'll be off for the weekend. The rains are supposed to be out of the area by then, so maybe I'll make it out to the motorhome to get some cleaning done. I wanted to do that last weekend but never fit it into my schedule.

Enjoy your day, wherever you are and whatever you are doing.

Good Morning ladies
:D I took 2 days off from the school district, just to do a little r and r although it includes
getting a few things done. One thing I want to accomplish is to get that fence finished up
so the girls can run around the back yard. Picked up a few misc materials I needed to
accomplish that and will get started when the sun warms up the back yard a little. Also
have to replace a few pickets on the privacy fence part. The landlord said he will reimburse
me for that in the form of taking it off the rent by turning in the receipt.
I've already finished off a pot of coffee, had waffles and eggs for breakfast and its about
that time to get dressed and get busy with some chores.
Enjoy your day and be safe.

Good Morning to All from sunny Playa Matanchen. The weather here has been perfect since we've been here. Not too hot - not too cold. Yesterday we just hung around the Rv all day. I caught up on blog about all our adventues and then we had George from Ms.Tioga and George over for lunch. The Driver fixed a delicious Italian lunch - gnocchis no less. And we just visited for a couple of hours. A couple more Class Bs came in yesterday - so all but one of the 6 spots are filled. Everyone but us is from Canada. This is a beautiful campground/hotel. Restaurant and big swimming pool. 30 amp electricity, town water and dump and only US$13 a day.
Boy was reading about the gas prices - what a disaster.
We'll be here till Sunday then going further south.
At home it is 25 degrees and raining/snowing - will it ever quit?
Take care and stay warm and drive safely everyone.

Good morning!

Birdie and I just got back from our morning hike on one of the trails/forest roads in the park.

We met up with Mr. Redheaded woodpecker and a couple of deer.

It’s going to be another gorgeous day here in central FL...around 80 degrees later today. It’ll be our last full day here and we’ll head south to Blue Cypress Lake tomorrow and join up with Beth there.

Yesterday Birdie helped me complete the reattachment of the rear door screen with velcro. It came out nice, so will work on the side door screen next. Bandit really likes having the two back door open, so he can watch the outside world from a safe haven.

Happy adventures to all today! Can't wait to read about your visit with Tioga George, Carol.

Sleigh bells ring, are ya listening?
Snowing here in the PNW! Just a couple inches but everyone panics here. I walked to the mailbox this morning and it is beautiful. No wind, quiet and huge flakes falling.
I was on the phone at 7AM with the probate team for Keybank trying to get some answers so I can access my X's checking account. I finally got a gal that seemed to WANT to help and she is emailing some people for me. They seem to know all about the loan and credit card accounts, but not his checking. Grrrrrr! I just want the funeral/lawyer fees reimbursed to me.
I did get into the dentist yesterday AM. I got to see some of the gals that I really like and as they weren't that busy we got to visit.
Yep, gas prices are going to continue to go up as long as there is unrest in the middle east, so be prepared! Groceries prices are responding, too.
Next week is my eye dr exam for my new prescription. It will be nice not to have to use the two different strength reading glasses.
Having another cup of coffee and then checking what's for breakfast. Yesterday after my dentist appt I treated myself to a Subway egg white breakfast sandwich. I love those!
Take care, everyone!
