Top of the Tuesday Morning!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Top of the Tuesday Morning!

Postby Birdie » Tue Feb 22, 2011 7:10 am

Liz, Roe, Bandit and i made it to our sites in good order yesterday. We are at Wekiwa Springs State park in Apopka, FL. Lots of sites here and though they are close together they aren't THAT close together. The roads are quite narrow and the trees are great. Lots of wildlife as the handout cautioned about the bears, and the birds are just having a ball. They think it is a beautiful Spring and their thoughts are turning to Bird Spring Things.

Breakfast is on the table so help yourselves. This morning we are having cheerios, with blueberry yougurt and French Vanilla coffee. Then we are off to see what we can do before we head 'into the city', of Orlando that is. Will go visit with Soos and eat lobster today (a lot of lobster).

If you are on the road, be safe, and if you are in a campground have fun. If you are home dream. And for those of you who must WORK, remember it is for a cause.

GOOD MORNING BIRDIE, AND ALL!

I'm happy to read that the ladies are in their sites at Wikiwa. I hope to get there and see what that place looks like, as it was one of the places on my list to look at for possible trailer hauling at some point. I think I went there several years ago with the kids, but am not sure if that was it, or another place.

Today dawns as most all others have arrived since I came down here---sunny, and warm, with temps to get into the 80s again! My task bar temperature reminder thingy tells me it's 15 below zero at home in the north! ACK! I am anxiously awaiting the girls from the Wekiwa campsite today, along with a couple of others in the area, and we will head for the swimming pool and jacuzzi for the afternoon! Maybe we will even take a walk in the woods to Shingle Creek where Molly and I love to walk. Then it's off to feast on lobster this evening!

I spent last evening with my nephew from PA who is down here at the Orange County Convention Center just a couple of miles from me. He took a cab over to my house, and I drove him back. It was fun spending some one-on-one time with him, and talking about what he does for a job, working at home as a computer software program installer and techy advisor. We also reminisced about the old days when they used to come up to the Adirondacks and camp at my pond. NIce time!

Off I go to read posts, check on Lily, Hope, and whatever they named the new bear cubs as of last night. Coffee is hot and tasty, so stop by and talk to us a while!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good Morning everyone. You ladies have fun. Sorry I couldn't be there. I'm having my floor done and they should finish up today. What a job! I'll post pix when it's finished.

Good Morning,

I am in Kissimmee until Friday, the space shuttle launch is Thu.
I will be staying at a KOA here, but last night I boondocked at the Super Kmart
and except for Wrigley having an issue with having to go outside during the night,
it was great; nobody bothered me. The Kmart people said they don't care, to ask
the police, so I asked a policeman and he said there is an ordinance against it,
but they only enforce it if they get a complaint...so I was lucky.
Mom was safely put into her brother's care, so now it is just Wrigley and I.
I did some laundry last night, and once I check into the KOA, will do some more
straightening out of things...
I bought a (hopefully) comfortable chair from Camping World yesterday, and between that and the new grill,
I need to do some major moving of things...might take some time!

Sounds like a great time you all are having getting together, hope I get a chance to go to one of these soon,

Have a great day everyone,

BRRR, it's cold on the west coast! Just 27* when I jumped out of bed to throw some wood on the fire, and bring my little netbook back to bed with me. ;)

Sounds like a great time is planned for 'lobster fest' ! Yum, have an extra one for me!

Today I'm going to the valley to attend a 'senior' golf clinic. It's two hours and free.
Hope it's worthwhile as it's almost an hour drive. Gas is $3.60 plus or minus here. ACK!!!!!!

I've recouped from the shoe snow walk on Sunday, so much fun, but oh my was my body sore. We have another low snow forecast for the end of the week. Hope it's the last one, it's time for spring.

Have a fun day everyone!

Good morning everyone!

The weather where most of you are is so much nicer than here in MD. I woke up to snow and ice this morning. I went outside with my broom to wipe the snow off my Buick, and there was a thick layer of ice under the snow. I gave up and decided to use my other car, which is kept in the garage. The roads were treacherous coming into work. But all the school systems in the state are either closed or have delayed openings as are most government offices, so the traffic was very light this morning. The sun is shining, so hopefully the ice on the roads will start melting soon, although temperatures are still below freezing.

Liz, Birdie and Soos, enjoy your lobster dinner this evening. I'm looking forward to hearing about it tomorrow!

LJ, I am really looking forward to hearing about the launch...I sometimes don't want to photo something that I would rather just "take in" without a camera in front of me...but if you can take photos, or feel like it you won't miss anything if you do, that would be fun to see. My husband and I flew over Mt Rushmore and Crazy Horse in a helicopter and he yells up from the back seat, "Geez, Kathy, you're not taking any pictures!" DUH! I have a glass floor to look down through and such an amazing unobstructed view there was no way I was gonna stick a camera in front of my face.

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Sure is chilly outside my door this morning! Brrrrrrr Had bucket loads of rain 2 days ago during the night then when the tons of rain got done it freaking snowed! It was really wet heavy snow too. If it hadn't warmed up a little and melted some I think we would have ended up with probably 2" or more. Now of course the whole park is a muddy, mucky mess again!!! YUCK! My white truck looks like it either has a whole lot of freckles or that it has caught measles.

Had some sad excitement the other night after all the snow. Jodie knocked on the door to get me to come outside and help her another neighbor, told me to be sure and leave Shade in the house. Holy smokes the stench hit me smack in the nose when I went outside and to her trailer!!! She had an injured skunk under her trailer! The nicer weather we had been enjoying got some of the critters moving. Apparently it got hit by a car and managed to get itself all the way from the road to her trailer. It was in bad shape. She was on one side of her trailer and Steve the other neighbor was on his knees and elbows in the snow and much on this side of her trailer. I ended up doing a whole lot of nothing as she finally was able to hook it and drag it out where she promptly threw a blanket over it and put it in a Rubbermaid tub. Jodie use to work for Best Friends Animal Sanctuary so she knew the wildlife rehab lady. She ended up coming over and euthanized the poor thing. It's illegal to rehab skunks, coyotes, deer and a couple other animals here in UT as they are listed as nuisance animals. But WOW it sure was odorous around her for a while. Now I know what the heck Shade was growling and barking at that day under Jodie's trailer. I thought it was one of the stray cats that come around. Sure am glad that she didn't get that "big dog attitude" and go after it!!! OH MY! What fun that would have been!!! NOT! ;)

OK, enough yammering, time to go read and catch up. Hope ya'll have a great day and whatever you are doing be sure to be safe.

Love to all

Just getting ready to head out on our hike this morning. Going back to the Santa Rose Plateau (cougar country) with a friend from work and her brother. It is 53, heading to 62, and sunny, so should be a great hiking day!

Hope you all have fun down in Florida and where ever else you are at, today!

Well, I just missed morning but wanted to wish all a Happy National Margarita Day!

Sounds like more fun in FL and I'm looking forward to seeing photos of the gtg and new floor, Carolyn.
About 20 degrees cooler here today than most of the past week but there are many signs of spring - butter cups and other early things beginning to flower - some likely a bit too soon as we will surely have more killing cold weather. Farmers worried about peaches and other fruit trees budding too early. Still it is good to see flowers again.
I'm about to give up on hopes of chopping up all these leaves to recycle - my shoulder is just too sore to handle the leaf vacuum more than an hour at a time. At that rate this years leaves will be coming down before I get last years chopped up. Three hours work have only yielded 9 bags and almost not noticeable as leaves are 4 to 6 inches deep in back yard. Have discovered it takes about 3 times as long to vacuum as it does to blow leaves.
Wishing all a great day.

How bout afternoon coffee? Maybe Im a little late getting started today. First of all, thank you Sarah for letting us know its national margarita day!!! Those of you going out to eat tonight or still camping have one or two for the rest of us!! Ive been a little down and not too enthused about camping or traveling for a few days for some reason, so i thought maybe a trip to Camping World would help so I drove up there today. It did, and I bought a coolapsible tote basket thing and two solar lanterns. There is an Rv show this weekend too. I hope to go somewhere first half of March, and tyhen aghain maybe first part of April. I didnt retire to stay home! Me and Sarah had a nice visit Sunday up in cullman (our halfway point) went to flea market, Smith farms store and sampled all the cheeses, and ate at Cracker Barrel. Everyone, have a grteat day. Late afternoon here. Chilly with a brisk breeze. Light rain intermittently falling. Still calling for possible snow tomorrow and Thurs.

I know it's not right to be envious, but I sure feel that way about you gals in FL! What a fun winter you are all having! Looking forward to more pics.

Also the GTG section is getting geared up! Can't wait till our first PNW one in Aug!

Well, today was a bust for me. I had a dentist appt for 9:30. They called last week and asked if I'd mind if they made it from 10 - 9:30 as they had a scheduling problem. I said, 'fine'. So this AM I show up at 9:15 and check in. First she starts telling me things about my insurance that is way off. I finally look at the file she has and it's not mine! She gets the right one and then because I have new insurance I had to go thru all that rigmarole! Then I sat. 9:30 came and went, 9:45 came and went, 10 came and went... at 10:15 I asked what was the holdup and they said the regular hygienist was on maternity leave the the fill-in was good, but very slow! Finally at 10:30 I told them to reschedule me for tomorrow!

Then, as executor to my X's estate, I visited the bank where he has his accounts to see what is happening as I'm still awaiting permission to access his account so I can reimburse myself the cost of his funeral and lawyer fees. Of course the original guy that I talked to and also has the files, is on vacation!! So I talked to the branch manager. He said he'd check and let me know by 3:30. Well, it's 4 and no call, so I just phoned him and he said he's still checking..... ;)

Just heard the weather forecast and snow will start falling late tomorrow and into Thurs. Always a big deal here whenever it snows more than an inch.

An so it goes........
