It's not cool enough for me to want hot chocolate yet - but I was drinking it almost every Sat and Sun morning this summer - everyone else had their coffee at work at 6 - I don't drink coffee so would make myself a cup of hot chocolate. Ah, even though it was the Nestle carb select - I finally got used to it - and it's not as good as the real stuff - but at 25 calories, I can drink it :)

Here's a link to making some pine cones for burning - hope this is what you were looking for:

I think I'm getting a beer belly - so no beer for me. Instead I spy that box of wine Cedar hid behind the tree. I'm filling my glass with some - going to relax and enjoy this fire tonight.

I just finished a Marie Callender Sweet and Sour chicken dinner and the last glass in the bottle of Two Buck Chuck Merlot Steve and I started several nights ago in New Mexico. Still tasted great--especially while watching "A River Runs Through It," the Robert Redford movie. Wal-Mart in Independence, KS had a bunch of good movies for $5 each, so I also came back with "Fiddler on the Roof" and "The Great Escape." Got some Blue Bunny Ice Cream for later, after the wine.

Aaaaah that fire looks so inviting especially since the next campground we have come to we are not allowed to have a fire because it is too too dry around us.
We are in Paicines CA over by Hollister & Gilroy. Grabbed the wrong bottle of wine the other day. Beringer's white merlot...it's good!
Usually I have the white Zin so I'm eating my med rare steak smothered in chopped garlic/butter & mushrooms, yam and green beans for dinner....think I have died and gone to heaven....yum! Can you hear the Horned Owl hooting? He's in the tree right above the motorhome....hum will be interesting if I get any sleep tonight because of him or her.....wooo...whoooo!
Fire feels good...hum I smell desert...sniff...sniff.

What fun you all have had this summer. I set here and read every post 350 some odd, alot of reading and enjoyed it all so much, laughed a lot, felt great. The camp fires were so pretty, I love setting around them. What a great bunch of ladies you all are!!!!!!. Quite a crowd around this fire, but move over and make room, I need a little more room then most to ladies so move over just a little bit more, please ha,ha.

Raining here a wee bit, cooler weather moving in, so a campfire is just the thing. I'll pass on the beer, but some of the goodies realllllly sounds good. I just finished the cake Beth put in recipes, the angel food with pineapple, and oranges. What a great cake !!!! Sorry I didn't save some to share, I'll make up something, to bring along.

Think I have set here long enough, my setdowner is numb. Hate to be a party pooper, but time to head out. Can't wait for the campfire and the company in Tx. Its going to be great to meet some of you. Be careful of that fire, some of you might ought to crawl aways a way from it, before standing up. Ha!!

Nite all

Nice to have you around the campfire with us, Carol - and glad to know this thread is fun to read all the way through - sure has been fun coming in to steal a drink now and then. So far, I've left the work of building the fires to others - but should take a hand at that one day. Please, please tho - I don't think any of you want to trust me to chop the wood :)

Okies, I have all the ingredients for that cake - I think I want to make one soon.

Haven't had a beer for awhile - so taking one off the wall - and that leaves 104 bottles of beer

And I want to steal some of that Blue Bunny ice cream - I just ate ice cream, I think it's called ice cream - fat free and reduced sugar. Well, it still said ice cream on the container. Somethings are not meant to be ruined!

I just brought in a big load of wood and threw some log on the fire . We are going to need it. It is cool here this morning and it is going to stay cool for a while. It's too cold for a beer so I got a big pot of hot chocolate going!! I also stopped by the donut shop and got some warm donuts from Crispy Creme to go with the hot chocolate!!! :P

Hey Fernie, you shouldn't have carried that big load of logs by yourself. I was bringing a load to, not as big as yours. I have coffee here, so now we have a choice. The fire looks great doesn't it?. Little damp here and cooler weather on its way, so a fire is really nice. Can't stay long though, have loads I need to do today. I hope you have a great one and that someone will join you soon.
