Hello From San Diego!

Hi ladies!
I just found out about this site yesterday on the RV Women forum.
I'm preparing to either full-time or go on extended trips of a few months.
I currently have a 31' Class C. My camping adventures started some 30+ years ago as a Geology Major in college. I started with nothing more than a sleeping bag and backpack. Over the years, I moved up to a pup tent, then sleeping in the back of my '74 VW Bug (it can be done), a VW van, Toyota pickup with a shell, pop-up trailer, 18' Sunliner trailer, '65 Airstream globetrotter, and now, the Class C.

I travel with my Australian Shepherd, Jack.
I'm still figuring out how the forum works. I'll get a signature set up for future posts.

Hi Diane! Welcome to you and Jack and so glad to have you with us. Jump in anywhere, anytime - we are a friendly group. Also a nosy group. So when you get that signature figured out - then you can start figuring out how to post pictures Just teasing, kind of. Pics aren't requred, but we do like them.

Welcome Diane! You've found a great group of ladies on this forum. Always willing to help, offer advice, and giggle with you! Pictures are appreciated...we are, as previously said, a nosey group, so we ask a lot of questions. Glad to have you on board...and I'm thrilled that another Class C'er is on board. I just bought a new Winne 30 footer in late November. I've not been able to get her out due to winter weather, but plan on doing so as soon as the parks in VA open up. I will be heading to the Left Coast in spring of 2012, so I hope we can meet up sometime thereafter somewhere between Seattle and San Diego! Welcome!!!

What about starting a Facebook page for the group? People could easily post pictures and videos from there.
It could be set up to be a private page for members only.

Some people hate that some of us post our pictures on our blogs instead of here - so we don't need another place to have to go look for pictures. Although I have thought about starting a FB page - maybe someday. The forum is our main focus for this group.

Welcome from up the road!

It's great to have another RVer in my neck of the woods, Diane. I grew up in the San Diego area (Clairemont) and my brothers still live down there (Escondido & La Jolla).

I'm going to be down that way next weekend camping with the RVW group at Tucalota Springs, just outside Temecula. Have you found them yet? Any chance you'll be going? Feel free to PM me if you'd like more info. about the group.

Welcome to the forum. I retired in 1999 from the City of San Diego and moved to Texas to be near my daughter. I lived in El Cajon. I miss the California weather but not the traffic. Look forward to learning more about you.

Welcome Diane,
I hope you will keep us posted on your travels and adventures. It is uplifitng to vicariously travel along with someone (especially with photos). As a geologist did you work for oil or mineral companies or developers of one type of the other? I have a laymans passion for geology and have enjoyed the Northwest's volcanic and large water events that have contributed to some powerful scenery. I bet you've been to Utah more than once. I would love to hear what your favorite and most interesting finds were through the years. Would be kind of fun to send you photos if curious geology and get your opinions on "what is it and how'd it get there?"

I'm in Northern California, but I work in the Ruby Mountains of Nevada during the summer. I've been told that the area is world renowned for its geology. Have you been there? It is really beautiful.
