SUNNY FRIDAY MORNING

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

SUNNY FRIDAY MORNING

A Happy Sunny Morning to you all,

Have lost a lot of snow and bare ground is showing here and there. But it all comes to a screeching halt today with an approaching cold front coming through. Temps are expected to drop all day and snow showers are in forecast. As is, this county and 4 others are under a Winter Weather Advisory. One county in the U.P. is under a Winter Storm Warning, about three others under High Wind Warnings and a number of counties along the Lake MIchigan shoreline are under High wind Advisories. Winds are really supposed to ramp up today and tonight. So back to winter again. And there is potential for a winter storm on Sunday now too, maybe.

Didn't do much of anything around here yesterday other than some grocery shopping. Took the dogs over to the park for a walk and spent time on this machine doing some research and answering posts and so forth. Had a nice time on chat last night talking with those who poppped in and out. I'm looking into a winter spot for next winter in FL, so am looking through my campground directory and on the web. Got to figure out about where I want to go, how much it's all going to cost etc. and the timing as to when to head out of here. I know it's only late Feb., but these things have to be planned out ahead of time. I would like to spend Jan-Mar. down south, but it's tricky getting out of the north here after November.

Also dreaming of getting that TT on the road to my favorite campsites in a couple of months. Won't make reservations till I know what my work schedule will be. We are still up in the air at the park yet. The process of getting a new supervisor is going to take a long time. Last year the state gave out a lot of incentives to state employees who were eligible for retirement and a large number of them did. So all those positions need to be gone over to see what positions will be filled and which ones won't. And with a new Gov. this year, that meams changes there too. He just gave the new budget to the legislature yesterday, so now they are going to have to vote on what is or is not going to get cut, added etc. So in the meantime, head ranger will probably be getting the go ahead to hire at least myself and two of my co workers back in, in mid April with a start day of the 25th. We are the maintenance crew, so have to get the park grounds, buildings, etc. up and running again. In the meantime we will wait patiently and see how it all flows.

So this morning I am meeting a friend for breakfast at 10. We were going to go on Tuesday, but she had to cancel out. Will be nice to get together again. She and hubby are leaving for FL for the month of March, so will be the last time we will see each other for awhile. Once I get back to work and summer comes along, we are both busy with out lives, so.......

Polor Plunge is at the park tomorrow, so will be going to watch that. Too bad the nice mild weather wouldn't stick around. Last year they had a nice sunny morning. They wear costumes and some are downright hilarious. first we have a parade of the "plungers" and then they line up and wait their turn. Goes pretty fast, jump in and climb out. Lots of laughs and good times. Will post pics.

So I am off to wash hair and get myself in gear around here. Have a great day all.

Good morning Sue & everyone!

Sue, it sounds like spring is trying to work its way into the U.P. slowly, but you are in the area where winter doesn't want to leave too early. Enjoy your lunch with your friend.

It's very overcast on the eastern shore of MD this morning but temperatures could break the 70 degree mark today. The sun will probably peek out a time or two teasing us with spring like temperatures. It's a great day for getting things done in the yard. The winds are going to kick up tonight into tomorrow dropping the temperatures about 20 degrees. I was really hoping to get some work done in my flowerbeds this weekend, but that may have to wait. Perhaps I'll work in the motorhome instead and start dusting and wiping down walls getting ready for the camping season. It's still too early to de-winterize as we'll still having freezing temperatures at night for perhaps another month.

I hope everyone has a good last day of the week and prepares for a relaxing weekend.

Good Morning from Daytona, for just a couple more days.

I took Wrigley for a long walk this morning and watched the Bass fishing contest.

I was up late as a new neighbor, acroos the street and down 3 spots, was blasting music...(and I am a normally fan of loud music) so loud I could not hear my TV without turning it up louder. At 1am local time, I looked out and saw NOBODY at this tent, and got dressed, went out and watched...there was nobody there, but the music was blarring, (again, you cannot imagine the volume) so I did the cranky old lady (which I thought I am too young to be) and flagged down the next police car and expressed my concerns over the loud music keeping everyone up and nobody there. (If there was a crowd, I would have lived with it, figuring why ruin a group's fun) The policewoman went to the RV and 2 men came out and were obviously telling her they were upset they had to turn the music down...!! but they did and then finally after I calmed down from that, I fell asleep. Apparently Wrigley was not bothered by the music and was up at the same time as usual, ready to go!
So, a little light on sleep today, so I visited the newly discovered coffee trailer, and had a mocha while watching the fishing contest. I hope this will keep me going, maybe a nap later?
There are so many more people here than before, and lots going on...it was actually more fun when it was just a few hundred RVs...

Hope everyone enjoys the day...

It is cloudy today but pretty warm at 56, supposed to get to 61. I actually like this better than the other day when it was sunny and 72. I should be on the west coast where KD is as I love that foggy cool weather. When I used to visit my cousins on the coast, if the sun was shining when I woke up I would cover my head and she would promise to take me for a drive to the fog or at least clouds. She and her sister were great fun to visit as they were never still a minute, I took a nephew out with me once who was at least 35 years younger and by the third day he was begging to stay home for awhile to rest.
I am in the dog grooming mode this week, two down and one to go, the biggest but easiest. Charley just does what I ask, the little ones are not as cooperative. I am grateful the little ones nails were trimmed at the vet while they were having their dental work. My male Havanese also had an Xray of his hips and is on two meds for pain and a diet to loose 6 pounds. I feel like such a bad mom, the vet said the extra weight added to his hip problem. Winnie has to loose 3 pounds. I think putting them on a diet is harder than me dieting. I give them very tiny bites of what I eat during the day but guess they add up. I actually eat very little but since I eat several times during the day they get more than I realized.

Enjoy your day.

Good morning (yes it's only 9:00 :)) from snowy CA. The snow line is just up the highway from me, maybe a mile or so, I was hoping for snow to ski out my back door, but not this time. Heard there is a dusting on the Coast Range south of SF Bay area. All the schools are closed. Lots of power outages due to heavy snow on the trees. Even tho no snow here we did get 2" of precip in last 24 hrs.

Time for me to take advantage of lighter rain to get some wood inside. Love my fireplace!

Sounds like most of the country is in sunshine, hope you all have a fun day!

I can't believe I didn't get to post here in the coffee forum yesterday---I hit SUBMIT and never checked back to see if it was there.

It sounds like such a fun time camping at Daytona! Maybe next year that would be something I would like to do. What was the bass contest you watched, LJ? I think I would like that even more than the races! I will be watching off and on to see how Dale, Jr. does in his starting postion with an entirely different car this weekend.....I am really plugging for him, and hoping his father's spirit will help him along.

Now off to this morning's coffee!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

I didn't check back, so I just saw this!

I guess every year they do a bass fishing contest in Lake Lloyd which is the lake on the infield, and if you pay a lot, you can fish with the nascar drivers, on a boat, but the contest is open for everyone, and money goes to charity.
The races have been fun, but I am ready to roll, so after these races, I am anxious to get moving!!
It has been fun...check out my blog for for details if you are interested in doing this yourself, send me an email, I will be happy to answer any questions.
