PORT LAVACA GTG, 1ST WEEK IN APRIL

Okay, I need to start thinking about Port Lavaca the first week of April (4/3 (Sun) thru 4/10. Start chiming in if you can come. As most of you know, we boondock right on the beach. NO TIDES SO NO SPARKLE ADVENTURE. There is an RV park just down the road from where we usually park if you REALLY need hookups. I'll find the name and post it later. As I recall it was about $125 for a week with full hookups including cable. So far the list is:

Its a good time to be had by all for almost free if you don't count gas and food.

I was so planning to be there this year But starting work in March in PA means no Port L in April. Will live vicariously through all of you.

OK, here is the info on the RV park in Port Lavaca for anyone who wants hookups. It is Ocean Side RV Park, 1162 Ocean Drive, Port Lavaca, TX. (361)564-0055 Their weekly rate is $125 plus electric at .1226 per kw. Weekly rate includes wifi and tv. They are a Passport America Park at $12.50 per nite good only Sun thru Thur plus $5 for 50 amp. They are a small park with only 8 pull thrus. Its a fair walk from the park to where we usually park on the beach (assuming we can get the same place). I'm thinking about spending the last nite there to dump???? That way I'm not driving home with full tanks and the weight.

I'll send you the banner Karen. Don't think I'll try to get there this year....would have to turn right back home for dr. appts. in April. I plan to set off toward the NE around the first of May. Next year, now that's different....won't have to come home for 6 mos. appt. anymore, it'll be 5 years post cancer...woohoo.

I am thinking about attending the GTG in Port Lavaca. I was concerned about parking on the beach with at 31' 5th wheel and getting stuck, etc. However, once I was able to find some photos of a previous stay, I am a little less concerned since I saw that you were actually driving down the beach. Karen, I found the photos on your blog but didn't see any entries after Oct 2010. It is a good blog so hope you don't give it up.

Sorry, no go for me. Supposedly starting back to work on April, so have thngs needed to be done before that. A bit too far to drive for me from way up here in Northern Michigan and back at that time.

No worries on getting "stuck" longdog. I was afraid of that too last year, but it's hard packed shell. My only worries were about boondocking. I am not that at all, but it was an awesome Easter Sunrise on the ocean I still don't like it. I like my full hookups, but the women are great

This sounds like a ton of fun!! Will have to see how are days off are going at LSC ~ we think we are getting Sunday & Monday's off so maybe we could come down for a couple of nights anyway, ? Is it okay if hubby tags along?

Ali - hubbies are allowed at all our gtg's. Sometimes there's a few of them, other times none - and sometimes one has to deal with however many of us are there all by his lonesome. I won't be there - but sure hope you and Ron can make it for a couple nights.
