Your post cracked me up! I love people who talk and always am in complete awe of how y'all get all those words out in a completely logical way. Gave up wondering years ago how I became the quiet (not dull I hope!) one, but love reading (and listening) to those of you with the 'gift of gab'. Please keep coming back!

KD, I agree with what everyone else said already, don't stop and that goes for the rest of you ladies out there, too. I'm a 24/7 caregiver, don't have time to go do "girl" stuff and don't have anybody to do it with. I look at this forum as my family of friends, it's what keeps me going, my escape from day to day routines. Reading about everybody's daily adventures or chores, it's all the same to me, I find it all interesting.

I love your writings and your photos! And, yes, a dog might be a great way to keep you entertained, and have someone to talk to and keep you company. There is probably a shelter nearby with a dog that would love to listen to you all day long!

Yeah, what all of the rest of the gals said! I find myself doing the same thing, and then I notice that far away look in the other persons eye....and my conversation just kind of dies away...and I kind of slink away feeling like an idiot....

And yes, I keep saying I'm gonna do something about this turkey neck I inherited from my mom's side of the family....and then I think about how much diesel fuel that money would buy....and so, I still have that beautiful little turkey neck. Keep on writing my friend and if you can't find anyone to listen to you, pm me and I'll send you my phone number and you can talk until you're hoarse!

You talk all you want, cause there wouldn't be this forum, if we all didn't like to talk....and I so enjoy your narrative.....keep it up!!! :D

kdmac, you do NOT blather here. You are funny and wryly self-aware. A delight.

I, too, sometimes turn a blind eye to the "ahem-ing," weight-shifting and other subtle social clues when I've been too isolated for too long. But I laughed so hard reading your pumped-up tale of conversational hostage-taking. It reminded me of my late husband, who was bipolar, compulsively talkative and truly blind to those "let's wind it up" social cues.

Watching him corner people was spectator sport. In fact, I participated in said sport the day he died. After the poor victim's fifth attempt to get away, I walked up, slapped Jim on the shoulder -- hard -- and said, "Hey, let's get going." I slipped the poor cornered guy a sly smile, and I'll never forget the gratitude in his eyes. What a hoot.

That must be a trait, that Carol's have, Carold. I am VERY guilty of holding people hostage with my talking. Living alone, and out like I do, when I do get out to the store or wherever, I always find someone to gab at . Liz, is a good witness to this fact about myself, she 's put up with non stop chatter from me for years, Bless her !!!!

I feel so much better knowing that some of you have experienced the "talking" syndrome; gives me a sense of comraderie and comfort to know that all is normal. I thought I would tell the owners that the next time I come into the office I will behave myself. But, I haven't seen them since...

Poor Peaches has to deal with me talking to her. Thing is, I beliveve she understands most of what I say - making her as crazy as I am :) I know when I get in a traffic mess, and am stressed, she feels it and goes and hides under the chair, instead of riding comfortably as normal.

I thoroughly loved this post!!!  I have so been there!!!

I live with my daughter Kelly here in the TT. So technically I have another human to talk to. Plus I have Shade. But lots of times Kelly is buried in the computer and doesn't answer me or she does the "uh huh, yep, ok, thing. Shade does talk back sometimes as she will whine or growl. BUT there are times that I want a "real time" human conversation. Monday Kelly stuffed her earbuds in and was listening to her Zen mp3 player. Finally in desperation I yanked one of the buds out of her ear and HEY, talk to me!!!   What a comical look of surprised shock on her face! :o   Did wonders for my sense of humor!!

So this is the place to be if ya have a talking problem. You have a lot of "Sistahs" here afflicted with the same disease.......
