Foggy Thursday

Good morning Everyone. I have Starbucks coffee brewed, its really good, and I'm ready to share. Couldn't sleep, have been up for an hr. or more, and of course, checking the computer for company to enjoy with my coffee.

Maggie and I, took off yesterday. I know i said I was going to do yard work on these nice days, but got up and dressed yesterday morning and after our morning walk outside, told Maggie, lets go. So we took off for the whole day, had a really great time, found a really neat place for a nice walk, which anyone looking at Maggie, would have known she thought so too. If these CG's were open up here we would be in one today. It felt so good to just be out and of course our walk was along the water. She wasn't ready to be home last night either, you should have seen the look when I took her leash off in the foyer.

I'm thinking I need to do things here today, but its not written in stone, so will just have to wait and see what the day brings. What ever or wherever you are I hope you all will have a really Special day. If you're traveling stay safe, but have a great time.

Good morning Carolinagal and all who follow!

Carolinagal, I hope you & Maggie had a good walk yesterday. The weather is getting such that I want to spend more & more time outside, with hopes that weekends will be spent in a campground.

It's another beautiful day on the eastern shore of MD with milder temperatures and calm winds. Tomorrow is going to be near the 70 degree mark. I was thinking about asking off from work to get some much needed yard work done, but figure I can still use some of the weekends to do that before the camping season starts. I saw the full moon shining last night before I went to bed but it was cloud covered this morning. Hopefully I'll be able to see it again tonight or tomorrow morning.

GOOD MORNING CAROL, IRMI, AND ALL!

Another day with sunshine and warmth forecast for us today in Central FL. I can take this kind of winter! Thanks for the great coffee, Carol! I don't know what I would do without this warm cup of eye-opener stuff in the mornings.

I am looking forward to meeting up with Birdie and Liz sometime next week, and then we will head off to the all-you-can-eat lobster place just down from my house! While they are camped in Wekiwa Park, I am hoping to drive my truck for a day visit up there, perhaps, too. I will have to print out a map of how to get there.

I bought me another climbing rose bush yesterday, and two pretty Klanchoes, red ones, to plant in the little garden space in front of this house. I got the front door screen replaced, and, as I do more and more of this screening stuff, I must say I am getting really good at it! What a difference an unobstructed view makes----those old screens have been on this place since the 1980s, were torn and ripped and white with age.

Today may be a swimming day for me, if it gets as warm as they are predicting. I will ride my bike around for a bit, and then head to the club jacuzzi and pool. This morning will be a good time to get my canoe down to the pond for a paddle. So much to do here, and seemingly so little time. This winter is flying by, unlike northern winters that seemed to drag on and on and on. And to think I have another whole spring and summer to look forward to back up in the mountains!

Good morning ladies. Hope all are doing great today. Just started drinking some Macadamia Nut coffee. Is really pretty good. So for this great day, will await for the fog to blow off before attacking the fun bucket. Have sat down with Liz and made up a two week schedule for doing fun things.

Wendy, where are you? Looked out and said Wendy needs to drop down here and have some fun, again. Sue hope you are still warming up on the 45th. Carol glad you and Maggie had a chance to hit the road. Trust me that outside stuff will still be there. Soos we will be looking for you to come visit. Irmi, glad you are having spring weather, too.

So if you are on the road be safe. If you are camped go have some fun, then, of course, do it again. If you are home, dream!

Good morning all, I got up way too early, someone across the street from us has a loud muffler and they wake me up almost every morning at 5:30. Some mornings i can go back to sleep but I knew it wasn't going to happen today..I moved and the dogs were ready to start their day. Know most of you can relate, sometimes I think they hear you blink.
Sarah I hope Nicky is feeling all better. Mine didn't seem to be bothered by having teeth pulled and ate their regular dinner that evening. Winnie says she needs a bridge or implants but we told her the missing front teeth are hardly noticeable

It was 72 here yesterday and supposed to be warm for several days! Wasn't that long ago it was zero ahh this is so much better.
Safe travels and have fun, Florida sounds like the place to be!

Good Morning CArol, Irmi and all who follow,

I know the feeling. When that sun shines and the air warms after a long winter, the urge to hit the road or just do something outside gets very strong. Happened to me last week and I took the girls and off we went. I too am waiting for those campgrounds to open, but it will be awhile before that happens. There is one about 40 miles from here that opens in March, but there is still snow on the ground usually. And it's still a bit too chilly. The park I work at, Otsego, usually is open for camping in early April regardless of whether or not there is snow. The state sets the opening an closing dates so that's why they are open even if there is a foot of snow on the ground But as soon as weather warms up enough, I am off. Course southern Michigan warms up before we do and gets nice weather, so I might head down that way first.

Another day of thawing here today. Temp got into the upper 40's in the sun yesterday. Today they are waiting to see if some records fall. We have a predicted high here today of 46, but if the sun comes out it might shatter the old record of 55, set back in 1981. Right now it is cloudy and just a hint of fog from melting snow. It felt so good to be out walking in the warmth yesterday and like Maggie, Sassy and Tessa enjoyed it. Even washed my truck again. Second time for February. That's not a norm around here this time of year. But rain is moving in too and they say possibly a rumble of thunder.

Spent yesterday going over facts and figures and my future plans. Think I might just be working for a couple of more years in summers if I can, to boost my SS up a little more. Thinking that I can still travel, but not have to do it all at once. LIke maybe take a month or so and head out to WY and CO cause the Grand Tetons nd Yellowstone are my top priority out there. Would have enough time to monkey around there for awhle, then come home and work in summer and head south in late fall. Housing market is bummer as we know and even if I list the house, it will be here for awhle anyway. Gas prices are going to play a big factor. If it weren't for that, I would be all set. Gotta go over to the SS office and talk to the folks over there. It's about 50 miles from here, so will wait for another nice sunny day. Gotta go shopping today.

It was 8 o'clock when I got out this a.m. and I couldn't believe the fog. I could only see about 1/2 block ahead of me. The sun is shinning now and burning it off. It's gonna be a great day.

Good Morning... wow Starbucks coffee... took me back to last year when my sister was fighting the battle with the big C he won but while she was in the rehab center the coffee room had Starbucks coffee... I got her some and she loved it... I told her when she got better I would bring the Starbucks and we would visit and drink coffee again as long as we wanted to... I got the bag of coffee and finally used it myself last summer... those are bittersweet memories but they are memories...
Shadow and I were outside yesterday also... it seems this is going to be another sun filled day so we will be out later again... the laundry still needs doing so I know what you mean Carol... much to nice to do that work and I still have clean underwear...

So nice to see the sun shining...yesterday was a rainy day and kind of blah...I did get some straightening up done. I went through a couple of boxes and then watched the movie "Into The Wild"...wow, what a story, and it is true. If you haven't seen it, take the time to look at it, anyone with a traveling spirit will enjoy it, I think.
Wrigley was more than a little stir crazy and he has taken to digging holes, not sure the best way to stop this new behavior? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Sue, glad you are making a plan! I am so happy when I hear that people are doing what they want to do, instead of sitting around and watching life pass them by! I am very happy to be on my journey. I am looking forward to leaving Daytona, after the races on Sunday and getting to see more. My Habitat build was moved up a bit so I have to be in NC by March 20th...gives me plenty of roaming time, After I drop mom off, I will feel less encumbered. I have enjoyed our visit, but the RV is a bit small for all of us for so long...time for Wrigley and me to be on our own!

Good morning from rainy CA! We are in a week long pattern of stormy weather with hopefully a break over the week end before more next week. I am back of routine of hauling wood to keep my fire going, catching up with family and friends. So good to see everyone. And always fun to be in a store and hear a friend call out my name, that never happens in Austin! There is plenty of new snow just a few miles up the highway for a great snow shoe adventure on Sunday. In the meantime, I have fabric to create new Roman blinds for my kitchen here. A good project for a rainy week.

Good to see so many at the table this morning. Coffee is good, for sure.

The weather here, a few days ago, was dry and I was really thinking of getting Little Missy out. Yesterday I awoke to huge snowflakes falling! We got 2-3" and not much melted later in the day and is still dotting the ground. Streets are slick this AM so will stay put until it melts. Mother Nature is still in charge in the PNW. The passes are getting lots of new snow and the ski lodges are happy again.

As I was gingerly walking to the mailbox yesterday, my neighbor, two doors down, was also going to collect his mail. I had heard that his wife (I'd guess in her mid 40s), was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, so I talked with him for a bit. She does have cancer and they did a complete hysterectomy and she started chemo yesterday also. First one hour and then two days later, 8 hrs directly into her abdomen, he said.

Things have slowed down on getting my X's estate settled. Next month the laywer will start dealing with the IRS. Next week is the 40 day cutoff for his bank to let me know what they plan to do with his accounts there. I assume since his credit card and boat loan are also thru them, they will take whatever is in his checking and put that towards those accounts. But one never knows....so we'll see. I'm still awaiting the titles to the RV, truck and motorcycle so I can get them sold. Not a good market for any of these and someone will get a good deal as I want them gone asap. Although it sounds insensitive, I will feel better once I get myself reimbursed for the funeral and lawyer fees.

Got my taxes done on Monday. I had enough to itemize for the first time, so ended up with a nice refund. Also got a break with installing the new energy saving heat pump last summer.

More GD basketball games this weekend. Not sure what ones I'll attend as the 10 yr old's home tourney was cancelled (lack of entries), so they are traveling to OR for a tourney there, Sat & Sun).

Ok, need to get my butt in gear. Wishing everyone a happy day. Prayers to all who are hurting or know someone who is.

I woke up at 4:30 and tried going back to sleep but that wasn't happening. I had to get up at 5:30 anyway to go get some cats at the spay and neuter clinic. Those people are the greatest. I brought the cat with the messed up tail. They were fixing 200 feral cats for $15.00 apiece. He was neutered and they cut off a little more of his tail so it could be stitched up. It should heal now if we can keep the plastic cone collar on him so he doesn't lick it. He is too tame not to have been someones pet. We only have 3 neighbors and I know he didn't come from them so someone must have dropped him off. I pay the pet price for my barn cats. Don't want to take advantage of them.

It has warmed up a lot here but kind of looks like it wants to rain. If the sun comes out I might go fishing again. Can't stay in the house if it is warm and sunny.

I was surprised to wake up to sunshine and blue skies this morning! Was supposed to rain today. It is cool out tho, mid 50's. There are lots of birds singing this morning too! Love to hear them! Not too many trees around here so usually don't have many birds either.

Have lots of indoor things to do today (that I didn't get to yesterday ).

Got my new hiking boots yesterday. They are very comfy and lightweight! I got hightop ones for more ankle support since I have a tendancy to twist my ankles when walking on uneven surfaces. Can't wait to try them out! Probably Monday or Tuesday, if it isn't raining.

Sue, would you consider getting a roommate in your house, who could take care of it during the winters while you are out traveling?

Soos, I am also noticing that this winter is going by quickly out here, while the winters back in MN would drag on endlessly!
