HAPPY SS WEDNESDAY!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

HAPPY SS WEDNESDAY!

CONGRATULATIONS TO HICKORY! She looked so beautiful prancing around the ring on the news this morning! Molly is proud to be a canine now that she knows you don't have to live a frou-frou life to be a winner at the Westminster show! Molly wonders how Hickory got so lucky as to be a deerhound, as chasing those whitetails and squirrels back home are her top favorite activities in the world! Now she realizes there is even a breed of dog especially used for her favorite activity.

Pete, though I can imagine how hard it is to peck out a message on your Droid, thanks for checking in. We have all been waiting to hear some news from you. We are all pulling for your daughter as she takes on this new battle against the Big C, and we are hoping the latest technology and medical innovations can provide an effective array of armament to slay the dragons. I hope to get over to your park for another visit when you get back down here, and maybe set a day to go to the Orlando Lobster Feast?

They are doing some controlled burns here today, and the smoke is heavy out there.....not good for someone like me who has trouble breathing even nice clear air. I hope the winds change direction so I can get out on my bike and over to the pool later on. I also need to finish up replacing screeens in two more doors today.

Yesterday I found some curtains on sale at Walmart of a burgandy color that exactly match my bedspread in there, so I hung those. I must say it dresses up that room considerably to have some window frames! Yes, I made the valances with the covers for pillows that came with that old bedspread and the tie-backs that came with the curtains----so far, they are just hung there, not fastened in any way. I am such a seamstress! Later, I may take on the chore of safety pinning them together!

My camping collapsable storage cabinet still sits next to the bed until I can find a couple of night tables for that room.

Hope you all have a happy Wednesday----I'm off to make sure my SS check was deposited to my bank account today! Coffee is hot and Hazlenut here, and is tasting extra good today. Come and sit awhile and tell us about your doings.

Happy travels!

Good Morning Soos and al

Nice to have you start some Coffee this morning Soos. Somehow it seems like a normal day when you do. Ever since I have been on this forum, you have usually been the one starting it. But now that you are retired, some days you are sleeping in, or doing other things and some of us who are also up, get things brewing.

I usully watch the WKC show too but didn't this year. Nice to hear that a different breed of dog won for a change . Usually it's always the smaller ones who always seem to get it. I remember watching one year when a Doberman won. I picked that dog to win and he did. He just had that fluid motion and air about hm, that you just not

Soos, great job on your window curtains. Yes, you are quite the seamstress. Whatwould we do without safety pins. But did you happen to know that there is a tape out that you can use to do that. Just iron it on. No sewing needed. My neighbor, not being a seamstress either, used bed sheets on her windows. Draped them over rods and I have to say they look really neat. She fashioned them in a way as to make a valance as well, kind of sweeping down and back up.

Nothing really planned around here today. Not in the mood for cleaning. Might go into town and pick up a few things from the store as I am out of lettuce, tomatoes and that good salad making stuff. Can't let that happen Got my taxes done yesterday and found out I have refunds coming from both federal and state So was happy about that. Took the girls for a walk over to the park as our road is too icy right now. Not sure what will happen in that department today. Think I will use a bit of my tax refund to send the girls to the groomer for baths etc. They can use it. I don't give them baths here in winter due to their heavy coats taking so long to dry. Too cold to be outside like that. Not to mention the mess in the bathroom from water flying from shaking it off and dripping all over the house

Well, have a great day all. Nice to see everybody beginning to emerge from winter slow but sure. The talk of summer trips, GTG's, heading for homes etc. is beginning to surface out there. So you know spring must be coming.

Good morning Soos, Sue & all that follow!

Soos, I think you did a great job on the window curtains as well. I like the way you matched the valence with the breadspread.

Sue, it's always nice to know that you have a refund coming rather than the other way around.

It's a chilly start here on the eastern shore of MD, but we'll be in the low 50's later in the day and we're supposed to be in the high 60's Friday afternoon. Needless to say, all our snow is gone but we were very lucky that we didn't get nearly the snow that so much of the nation was hit with. Yesterday afternoon, I saw some of my daffodils and other flowers popping out of the ground in my flowerbeds, which is a sure sign of spring.

I'll be making my usual trip into town after work to get a workout in and then back home to get dinner on.

Enjoy your day everyone.

Good Morning... sunny day here in Florida with highs in the upper 70s later... I finally got my steps scraped sanded and painted yesterday... was going to do it a while back but the nights were to cool... now that is one task behind me... have other projects to do but am a bit lazy...
Soos good job with the drapes... safety pins were made for those who do not sew...
Maybe when I wake up I will do the laundry that is a job that needs doing... one of my neighbors has a rack on the back of her 5th wheel and hangs clothes out every day... that would be a handy thing to have... there are crafts at the club house this morning... I do not do them as I cannot store anymore in here but have gone to watch...
My friend Jere called yesterday... he is trucking away... one mile at a time... he has a couple of hot spots on his feet so is not walking as far as he normally does each day...
Coffee is getting cold here so will sign off... have a great day everyone...

Well it is checkout day for me here at Silver River. Was a great park to be in this time of year. Is another beautiful day and is 68 degrees. Have had all sorts of little birds come to visit me. One little wren hoped on the screen door handle area and looked in to say "Hi". A tufted titmouse was gleaning insects off the window screens.

Soos will be headed your way while here in FL. Yes I do love the Lobsters. Will be headed southerly sometime soon. Just haven't gotten it all figured out yet.

Well my schedule today is, of course, break camp. Store all the goodies I got out and get hooked up and out before 1 p.m. So I am off to grab a bite then pack the food away and get started. Takes a long time when I have to stop and do other things along the way. I have to find my camera battery charger....totally walked away from the camera bag on it's own. Also need to find the iPod as it has my bird calls on it. Haven't a clue where they are because they aren't where they belong.

If you are on the road be safe. If you are camped have fun today.

Great looking curtains, Soos

Feb. must be the doggie teeth cleaning month. Nicky was not eating normal when I returned. He spent the day at vet, lots of expensive tests and dental checkup including getting teeth cleaned. Poor baby had a badly cracked tooth. Just picked him up about 45 minutes ago. He is still a bit disoriented and staggering around but otherwise seems okay. All the blood work was okay according to vet.

Think I've managed to get bill paying caught up. Restocked refrigerator this afternoon and took care of a few other errands. Weather was so good, I almost wanted to tackle more of the massive amount of remaining leaves but resisted as other priorities need more immediate attention.

Am a bit worried about my sister. She seems to be slipping - has not been out of house during the 3 weeks I was gone and has lost even more weight. Will try again on Friday to get her up and outside for at least a little while. She has a doctor appointment next week; just hoping she will keep this one.
The only major handicap in life is a bad attitude!

Sorry about your sister, Sarah. I sure hope she can rally now that you are home. Maybe she just ran out of reasons to get up and out.

Looking forward to seeing you and Liz, Birdie, sometime next week!
