RV show...

Okay I am so glad I took notes...could I did not recall, as I mentioned in morning coffee there was nothing that really stood out.

Then I opened up my notebook..to check and see...what I had written...it was very basic information...ie Make Model and 1-2 things that stood out.
I had totally forgotten about the Lance we looked at. We almost skipped it as it had the double doors...but they had written on the outside..."TRIPLE BUNK".

Most models that are like this...vs having the triple bunks they have the chairs. I keep saying to DH ..to bad they don't replace those chairs with a set of bunks.
Lance did....I know Lance has usually been a truck camper dealer..and now they are making TT....
This I think would be ideal...what I like is that while the couch is the other bed, unlike some..if actually becomes more of a queen size vs a double. We looked at Jayco that was similar but the couch is only a double..so not doable for Dh and I.

Probably just me - but can't figure out the model you're talking about - can you share the model number?

Not sure which model you were looking at so I only have two comments. It shows that it has 2 five gallon propane tanks. This is smaller than what most travel trailers have. I hook up two five gallon tanks to use when I'm not traveling and let me tell you, when its really cold I can blow thru both these tanks really fast.

The other thing is they offer an "upgrade" for the frig doors to a pretty, shiney black. DON'T DO IT!!!!! When I had to replace my frig I paid $40 to "upgrade" my doors. They get fingerprints if you only walk by and don't even touch it and for this I paid extra. Live and learn....

Lance 2185

I called the local dealer who...he carries the Lance products...not much of a salesman in my opinion.
I really want to get a better look at it.

So I called to see if they had one in stock. He was liek we have a couple let me check. Then he came back and said no they did not have that one, but he could order it for us, if we want to buy it. I said we had seen it at an RV show and it is one that we have on our list, but we really want to get another good look at it. He said, sorry we don't have it in. Then hung up.

Next closer dealership is 50 miles away.

That is why I want to look at it again. I want to see where the propane tanks are and how they are mounted. To see if it possible to put larger ones in.

Kris, I have a Lance 915 truck camper and the propane tanks they are offering for the trailer are the same size as in the truck campers. They seem pretty small to me for a trailer also. Call Lance direct and ask about the tanks, never hurts to ask. Ditch that salesman and get another. You would think they would want your business. Overall, it looks like a nice floorplan and one that would fit your needs. Linda

Thanks guys...

The only other concern is it is NEW model. I know some say to wait a couple of years so the bugs can be worked out. This is honestly the only one we have found that has the floor plan we like and is under 26ft. Then I have read on some of the Lance boards that the customer service is great and any issues that people have had they did get positive results.

I did post on RV net....the few responses are saying wait another year...but we want to get the best resale with our current one and bunk house's are still very popular.
The other big down side to the one we have now...is finding places to camp. Most state parks here..have very few sites that accommodate the larger rigs and if they do..they are booked by Jan-Feb. WE have friends that tent camp/tent trailers..and we would like to camp together a couple of times, but it seems that we can't ever get a site close...in the same park and end up camping in an RV park near the state park.

Our thought with this smaller unit, is we would consider getting the screen room/add on awning room. Maybe making our own. That would give us the extra space...if it is really really yucky weather...while we would not have the indoor space that the current one has..we would still have space..thus the reason we wanted one with a slide out.

There were a couple others we looked out, but they did not have a slide out.

I'm with you on why small. And it was confirmed for me a few weeks ago again - when I stayed in a great boondocking location - NOT big rig friendly. Plus I was able to get into some of the Florida State Parks at the last minute - because the only sites left were one or two little ones. We all have our choices and reasons. I think buying any rig new you have issues - but I don't think with a reputable company like Lance you need to worry about the bugs being taken care of. There just are bugs with new units. Expect some and keep good records and make sure they do take care of them.

Good luck - it sounds like you've really found what you are looking for.
