WARM THURSDAY!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

WARM THURSDAY!

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

The pics of the latest snowstorm to hit the country are amazing on the news this morning! I am feeling so smug down here in the tropical zone with temperatures in the low 80s yesterday! Even Texans and Arizonians are expecting snow and freezing temps today----so much for "going west" as Dick always used to say to me!

Lily, Hope, and the new cubs are doing fine, and it's almost time to give them names. They know one is a girl, the black one, and one is still to be determined, the brown one. That den camera still awes me every time I view those beautiful creatures in their winter den.

My cough is definitely better now......I finally got a good night's sleep without waking up myriads of times to hack! So, today I will head to St. Cloud and get that generator loaded and head down to that beautiful lake where Beth and some others are hanging out. What a relief to get up and feel good at last. I was a wreck at the GTG, unfortunately, but I wouldn't have missed it for anything!

I got a printer on sale yesterday at Staples----a HP printer, scanner, and copier-----got it all networked on this wireless network, and it works great! I need it to print out my income tax forms and to save receipts from paid bills. I still feel more secure with paper in my hands when it comes to receipts!

Time to squeeze some fresh orange juice from my own oranges (maybe that's what has cured me!) and head out of here. Happy day to all!

Happy travels!

Good Morning Soos and all the latecomers,

I was waiting for you to make the first post this morning. You've done it for so long. Always up bright eyed and bushy tailed, well most of the time anyway

Nothing to report around here this morning. Same old. Gonna be a nice day again but windy. Highs in the 20's. Seems like we have been in the 20's forever. with the exception of the cold spells that have come through these last couple of weeks. But it's February and time for more sun and temps will gradually start inching upwards. 30's will feel like a heat wave.

Got about 5 inches of snow roughly from the big storm. I was pretty close to being out of it altogether and had it stayed about 50 miles farther south, I would have been. But I'm all cleaned up out there until another dump comes along. Still have to do the neighbors drive yet, but wll take care of that later today. Waiting for the county plow to do the road so I can clear out the snow they throw in the drive from their plow. Then I wlll clear out mine by the road on my way back in from the neighbors.

So this morning I am off to Gaylord to run a few errands. Am discovering that my paint pens are starting to dry up from lack of use. Haven't been doing any woodcraft stuff for the past couple of years, so need to get a couple of new ones today. Also to the bank and get some gas in the truck. Hopefully today, the girls and I can go for a walk. No walk yesterday cause the road was too messed up with snow and ruts to walk out there.

Said my official goodbye to my boss yesterday and wished him best of luck in his new park. Sure wish I could go along, but it's 60 miles from here and just not practical to drive that distance back and forth everyday. My paycheck would be in the gas tank. So I am staying put here and will see what happens. The assistant supervisor is now the interim supervisor and the process of getting a new supervisor hasn't begun yet. She is applying for the position, but cause it's civil service, they have to interview candidates. Hopefully she will get it. For those of us who have been working there and plan to come back, we have to see what happens. A totally new supervisor can start fresh and not rehire any old employees or can be selctive. Would have to reinterview again. If our interim super gets the position, no problems. She will just hire us back in again. It takes time to get a new person into the position and if it doesn't happen before we usually go back to work, then she will just bring us in and be done with it. So it's a waiting game in a way. I'm not going to worry about it. When my boss started 12 years ago, he kept, me, my work partner and one other person and didn't bring anybody else back in. Started fresh. But he is leaving strong recommendatins behind for the new super.

So I'm off to wash my hair and then mosey up town. Have a great day all.

Good Morning Soos and Sue... so glad the cough is better this morning soos... it is 55 this morning but it is way below zero in Normal Il so cannot complain...
Hope those dry camping are doing good... they can play cards instead of floating on the lake...
I checked with the author Jerry about the Ultimate Campground log and they do not make it for iMac or apple... that sounded like a great way to keep track of my trips but alas not going to happen anytime soon...
Turned on the water heater this AM and will clean up the dishes and wash my hair and other things that are behind...
Take care those of you in the north country... looks bad still...

Good morning Soos and Sue and all,
Image
Pre-dawn at Blue Cypress Lake as we prepared for a foggy morning pontoon tour around the lake. More pics on my blog to come.
Tina and Sarah are packing up to head to the beach, while Beth and I will be here a few more days. Looking forward to seeing you here, Soos. I know you'll love it. What a gem of a place this is!

Hope those in the rest of the country can stay safe and warm from all these storms. Housecleaning time now.

Good Morning to All from not so sunny or warm Mazatlan. Lots of cloud cover this a.m. and the little electric heater is humming away and has been most of the night. I think I read something about rain either today or tomorrow - "But it's NEVER this cold here this time of year and it NEVER rains here. Yep so they say.
Soos - so glad you are feeling better too - nothing like being sick to make you appreciate feeling well.
We are supposed to go into the interior a ways today back to La Noria where one of the guys with a leather shop has ordered Bill some leather he wants. And on the war are three little villages I would like to visit - we've never been to them but hopefully will make it today.
This RV park has around 140 spaces - another 5th wheel is pulling out today so that will leave about 22 RVs in here. Same with the rest of the parks in town. And now without the cruise ships coming in.....the tourist companies, restaurants, vendors and everyone else are hurting.
I cooked dinner last night again, steak and baked potatoe for some reason I just couldn't face a restaurant. Hopefully by tomorrow my mind set will change as a new Argentine restaurant opened this week in the Plaza - The Driver is Argentine [well he was 50 years ago]
Just thinking about being sick twice already this winter and I know why - the last times we were here I was a drinker - now I don't drink so the alcohol isn't killing the germs - hummmm?????
Well time to go and finish the last blog piece about our friends visit here with us. Poor guy he sure picked a bad time to go home.
Hope all have good days - stay warm and safe and those of you in Calif. send warm thoughts east.
