Glad to hear all is put back together for you. As for having the same problems with a stick built, I can attest to that. During the snow storm last week we were without power for 24 hours. Luckily I had an old kerosene heater in the basement (and it had old kerosene in it too thank heavens) so I was able to provide us with a bit of heat. The hard part was keeping the GD's bearded dragon warm. We heated up a rock in boiling water (thank heavens for a gas stove) and wrapped it and the dragon in a towel to keep him warm. Had to reheat the rock about ever hour. Then, last Saturday my propane tank ran empty. No heat, no hot water! Ugh. So, I ran to the local home depot for a heater of some sort. Ha Ha. They are sold out for the season. Is it me or is there something wrong with this picture? It's only February. I sure hope no one needs supplemental heat for the next 2 months, cause they are SOL if they do up here in MD! I was able to find a couple small ones on clearance at Target but it just boggles my mind that Home Depot would only have heaters seasonally. And because it has been so cold here (since November) I went through about 200 gallons of propane in 2 months! OUCH. I was afraid that there was something wrong with my furnace, so I had my furnace guy come take a look at it this morning. He said it is fine, but because it has been so cold that is why it used so much.
So, it doesn't matter if it is a home on wheels or a stick and brick, there will be things that go wrong at the darndest times. And all you can do is roll with the punches.
Glad you have your potty back. That's one of those need to have things! And your maintenance guy sounds like a keeper!
