Sorry about all the potty problems, Karen. Hope you got things working before nightfall.

Well, no toilet until Monday. Chris has to get a piece of 1/4 inch plywood to put around the toilet to compensate for the missing carpet. He did hook up the water hose so I at least have water to the rest of the RV. Right now I have my new short toilet sitting where it will be installed; the new/old toilet in the backseat of my car to return; and the old/old toilet sitting outside at the end of the driveway for one of the guys to pick up and take to the dumpster for me or I guess I could put a plant in it.

Do you know how quiet a campground is at 3am when you have to get up and go to the bathroom? This morning since I had to go use the facilities I decided to go ahead and take a shower there. Its been so long I had forgotten how good it feels to just stand under running hot water for a long time. Thank heavens the bathroom is quite near my rig.

I'm sure glad that bathroom isn't far, Karen. I'm up at least twice most nights - sometimes more - would absolutely hate that! And you are also lucky that they have good shower heads and good pressure. A couple of us were talking here - love this state park, but hate their showers lol - isn't heated, but the ceiling fans are running - sending COLD air down on you in the showers. I realize they have them to control mold, etc, but they need to turn them off when it's cooler out. Then, the one shower I used (saving my tanks as I'm here 8 nights and no sewer connections at the park) that I decided to take there, I froze and the water pressure was terrible. The showerhead was one with different kinds of streams, but only one seemed to work, and badly. Ha - the rest of my showers have been in my rig quickies - and tomorrow I get to take one till the tank is full before I pull out to the dump station.

Your rv guy must love you - all this extra work, building up, etc, is probably going to cost you more than the diference in price of the toilets. Hopefully the finished product will be just what you want. With a working toilet!

Oh my gosh Karen, it's NEVER simple is it? Your story with 'three' potties nearby and having to go out at 3 am should be required reading for all future rvers! :D

I know what you mean about taking a long hot shower as those just don't happen in the motor home. Hubby is putting in the new headlight and then we are taking the grands to go swimming...after that I plan on one of those long hot showers...long showers are a rarity for me.

Karen glad the bathrooms are nearby for you.

A funny: Christopher who is 22 months just asked what I was doing. I replied I was writing an email to a friend and he said, no grammy to my friend. And then I asked him if he knew Karen and he said yep, she goes to my day care

I thought you would like that.

I haven the greatest RV guy. Guess who showed up on a Sunday? Yup. Said he didn't like me having to wander around the CG in the middle of the night. This project took him two almost full days including Sunday. The charge? $305.00 It was really a project what with removing carpet, adding a custom piece of plywood and doing all the trim around the edges and installing two toilets. If you actually added up the hours, it should have been a lot higher.

Back to normal - no more wandering the CG in the middle of the night.

I'm glad you got that all taken care of, I didn't think it was a good idea, having to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, much less being in the shower and not being able to hear if someone were to come in there.

Good point Vicki about not being able to hear anyone come in.

Karen glad that the rig is back together for you.

Definitely a repairman to remember and call again for that kind of treatment. It helps to remember that there are good ones out there. Glad you are back to your routines.... :D

Yeah! No runs tonight to the bathhouse! And, yep, you sure do have a good repairman there!
