Lily's newborn cubs

Postby BarbaraRose » Thu Jan 27, 2011 2:02 am

Here is a You Tube video taken today of Lily and her newborn cubs. They are so tiny! I am amazed at how such a big, heavy bear can be so gentle and delicate with such tiny little babies (and not accidently lay on them!).

That is awesome. Those cubs are so tiny. Isn't it amazing what those animals can do and the instincts they have. Watching wild bears like this is something you never otherwise see. I hope those cubs grow up to be big strong babies and then will be out foraging in spring. And that this time, Lily will stay with them.

Yes, I thought they were noisy too, Kathleen :) They are so tiny, and Hope didn't look like a happy camper to me, sharing her Mom. So interesting to watch.
Thanks for bringing the Link up Barbie.

Yep, they are loud. Peaches kept trying to figure out the sound. Then she left and crawled under the table the computer is on. Was funny. They are, as said - sooooooooo tiny.

I agree they are so tiny especially compared to Hope. Thanks for sharing the link. I do wonder how Hope is going to take to the new babies. And yes, I hope Lily sticks with these little ones.

They think now that her estrogen levels will be high enough now with nursing 3 cubs, that she won't go into estrus this year and will be a good mom. So far, Hope just seems curious. She was actually helping clean the cubs one day. She's getting a good lesson on being a mom (this year anyways), so should be a great mom herself in a few years.
