WEDNESDAY OF THE LAST WEEK

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

WEDNESDAY OF THE LAST WEEK

Postby Colliemom » Wed Jan 26, 2011 7:44 am

Good Morning Everyone,

Thought I had better make a morning coffee post in here before you all think I got buried in a snwdrift or something. Seems a few folks are waiting for me to start this thread in the morning here. So it's started  Actually, I haven't posted cause I really don't have much to post about these days. We all get tired of the same old, cloudy, cold, more snow type posts day in and day out about this time of year. As is, the current weather at the 45th is cloudy and 24 degrees. Been having normal temps with a little drizzle mixed in.

Was really nice some of the others who are down at the GTG in FL last nigh on Chat. Sounds the GTG gang is having a blast.

I haven't really been doing much of late. My one big toe has been bothering me for over a week. Sore for a few days and then kind of going away, only to flare up agaian over the weekend. Got all swollen and very tender. So a trip to Dr. was ncessary yestrday, along with X ry and lab tests. We are pretty sure it's Gout. So I am on steroids for a few days and the change is already remarkable. Swelling is going down, tenderness is gone except for one little area. Everybody on chat last night was asking me if I was drinking too much  Oh yeah. Well, actually there was that New Year's party of Soos, and then her birthday party night. And of course the talk of all the different types of Bota Box wines on the sites here and   Actually I may be eating too much shrimp

The girls haven't been happy these past couple of days. No walks.Unless you want to count how many we have taken to the door and back every day  They have been spending a lot of time outside. I've just been staying in and resting the foot more than anything else, catching up with posts on the sites and doing some research of various kinds on the "Puter" here. But if all goes well, we will take one this afternoon. I go out on Monday and hobbled behind the snowblower to clear out the accumulations from last week. My nice neighbor across the road was plowing his little drive out and he always pushes the snow at the time of my drive off for me, which is really nice. We got to talking for a minute and I told him about my foot problem and the fact I was going to let the neighbor next door's drive go for a few days. He went over and made two passes with the plow for me. Neat. And she came up yesterday, so it was timely. I will go do her porch and steps perhaps later today or tomorrow. She is only here for couple of days and heading back home. Stays with a close friend up in Gaylord.

First though, I am going to "work" this morning for a little while. Some friends who own a bed/breakfast motel around the corner from me here, asked if I could come in and help them out this morning for a couple of hours or so and then again on Friday. Some of you may remember me "doggy sitting" their Golden "Sparky" late last fall. Hubby has been having problems too. Found out he has a blood clot in his lungs which is clearing up and he also wound up with Gout as well. So he could use a ittle extra help this week as they have a full house. She works as an LPN three days a week, so I am going in on her work days. I usually strip and make up beds and vacum while he does the dusting and bathrooms. Doesn't take us long to do a room. On Friday he said he may have me stay longer and I might be doing a few rooms on my own as well as a few other things to get them ready for the weekend. Nice thing about this, extra spending money :D They have a couple of guys who come up from Ohio every weekend to snowmobile and have become very close friends with them and their wives. These two guys are both named Bob and they are now the motels "official securiy staff" as they call them. They help out in the dining room serving coffee and keep the breakfast bufet rolling among other things. Chatting with the other guests, dispensing advice or innformation and even helping cook breakfast this past weekend when hubby was so sick. Great guys. So they will be on "duty" again this coming weekend as well.

So for a while here, I will be on the machine, catching up and then I am going to run a vacum around this place too. Then time to head to work. After lunch hopefully I can take the girls for a nice walk. Have a nice day all :)

Good-morning !! Yes, Sue, I think most do wait for you to start our day. I was on here at 6 this morning, but at that time I was only on my first cup of coffee. You can't help that your weather keeps you from exciting things to chat about  I did find the bed and breakfast talk nice this morning. I love them, I have stayed in one in Mo. once, dated way back into the 1800's, loved it. I love old things, so that really was an adventure for me.

My weather here is bleak looking outside, rain now but snow coming in this afternoon., BUT , I got some results of all of these test yesterday and a couple i was really concerned about came back good, so I really don't care what the day is, I plan to have a good one and enjoy what I can find to do. If all else fails, I have a number of books to choose from to get into someone else's life

So regardless of the weather wherever you are, I hope you all will have a really good day !! I'm hoping for a little bit more for our Sistah's in Fl., hoping they have a nice warm sunshining day for their kayaking.

Stay safe and Warm,
CArol :)

Good Morning Sue and Carol... it has dawned a beautiful day here in Silver River Park... my day does not start very fast... wow it seems so long ago that my feet hit the floor running... now they do not even hit the floor... am on my second cup of coffee and by the end of it I should be moving a bit better...
I stayed in a Bed and Breakfast for two weeks while I was working for Olan Mills Church Division it was in Illinois called the Iron Gate... there was soooo much stuff around they could not even dust things... my daughter came up for a couple of days and the owner gave us a tour... very interesting...
Sue when Soos was working we depended on her to open the room but now she is more busy than when she was working... glad you can do it... and thanks for the coffee...
My water heater was spewing water out of the safety valve... I got the part and finally put it in yesterday... lets hope that was the problem... will tell when I run the water heater longer...
This has been such a nice GTG... I walked with some of the ladies yesterday our dog walk... I long quit before they did and Soos walked me home then she rejoined the group... now how nice is that I say...
We do miss you Carol but another year is coming... maybe Sue you can come then also...
Have a great day where ever your feet take you...

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Hey Sue, I can understand the "nothing exciting" that's for sure! But sounds like your gonna be a little busier for a few days. Today is our errand day, not many but a few. Kelly called the computer shop yesterday to check on her cpu fan for her laptop. They said it hadn't come in yet so the girl there was gonna call the supplier. She called back and said it should be here today or tomorrow. We've got our fingers crossed that the fan is the only problem. ~sigh~

Boy does this place have water problems! Night before last we we had no water because an overnighter ran over a water connection. And this was after they had been warned that they would need to back up to make a wider swing cause they wouldn't make it from where they were parked. Well they didn't believe the manager and tried to pull away anyway. Ran over the connection and broke it off about a foot under ground. It was late enough around 9 or 9:30pm so of course dark and quite chilly outside. Brent simply turned off the water to the park and then he and the manager went around and let everyone know. He fixed yesterday morning by 8am. I'm telling ya that this man has more than earned his keep this winter! Yesterday after noon Jodie came knocking on the door to have me come look at a new Old Faithful.... Across the park there was a water geyser spouting probably 100' in the air! So off went the water for that section. It was an easy fix tho this time. One of the guys up the lane had lost water pressure in his camper so had went looking to see where the water problem was. He told Brent that he had seen a small spray from the water connection in one of the other sites so checked to see if he could turn it off and the whole knob and faucet assembly came off in his hand. After Brent got the water turned off he checked the faucet assembly and told me that there looked to be only one small area of glue on the pvc pipe that was holding the whole thing together. From what I've been told the last maintenance guy here wasn't what ya would call a thorough fix it kind of guy! Anyway Brent got it fixed. I was picking on him about "him" doing it just so that he would have something to do so he wouldn't get bored! He called me a smart azz! He also told me that the overnighter that ran over the water connection was not happy when presented with the bill for repairs to the plumbing. They finally paid for the repairs after they offered to leave their "credit card number" so that the manager could charge the repairs next Friday to the card! Brent said it was a motor home full of "ladies" and he said he was using the term very loosely!! He didn't say if it was a privately owned MH or if it was a rental?

Ok enough blather!!! Hopefully we wont have any water supply issues here today as today is shower day! Oh yeah, that's gonna feel good. Hope everyone has a great day and stays safe. And for those at the FL GTG? Make sure ya stay out of the "Iron Bar Motel"!!!  .

Good Morning to All = The sun is up and the sky has puffy white clouds scattered around. Should be a nice day. It has finally started to warm up some here - becoming more normal weather.
Our friend arrived in town Monday afternoon - so we picked him up and went out for ribs! of course. Yesterday we left Jennie early and came home late. Took him to visit a couple of the little towns inland - he was fascinated with the cheese making and shoe making. And the ladies who sort the rocks out of the beans. Ate at our favorite restaurant but didn't see the iguanas but I think he is engaged to one of the cute waitresses now - Later in the evening we sat out in the Plaza and enjoyed dinner - first night we've been able to do it without a jacket. Today we'll pick him up again and head way inland to another couple of small towns. Will see furniture making and have banana cream pie.
Not sure when I'll get any blogging done but will try every day. Went through 1 /2 batteries in my camera yesterday.
The U.S. media has struck again - several of the Tourista Van drivers told us that the cruise ship lines are cancelling stops in Mexican ports becaused of the perceived danger. What a crock! From what I've read and seen on TV the last year it is more dangerous to be ON the cruise ship.
