BABY IT's COLD OUTSIDE!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

BABY IT's COLD OUTSIDE!

A Good Cold Morning to You All,

Winter has really turned on here at the 45th this weekend, just as predicted. Not only did the snow arrive but the colder temps they were saying were supposed to did also. At the present moment, 7:11 a.m. it is clear out and the current temperature is 20 BELOW. Since the temp usually drips a bit just before sunrise, I expect it to go down a bit more yet. And the predicted high for today, might reach about 4 above if we are lucky. But after this day, we are to return to our normal highs of mid 20's or so. We have been getting light snowfalls every day since last Thursday and I now have at least 4 inches in my drive, the which of may stay there till tomorrow when it's a bit warmer out. I can drive in and out, so no big deal there. So all I can say is, Cedar and Carol, bundle up out there in NY, cause I think this is headed your way.

Also read in the local paper that our total snowfall is down 22 inches from normal right now. But we don't need to make up for it in one week. I think that northern Lake Michigan is frozen over or about too. Once that happens, our lake effect snowfall will stop. And then the lake acts as a land mass rather than a snow machine and storms won't drop as much either. NWS says we might not have another significant snowstorm till end of Feb.

Sounds like the GTG in Ocala is starting to wind up and the good times are rolling. Haven't had a chance to see the pictures Liz posted yet, but will check on them today. I have been kind of wondering how it was going and I see the local law enforcement hasn't been called in yet   But then the rest of the crowd hasn't arrived yet either!

I was at a GTG, northern Michigan style yesterday afternoon. A party over at the park where I work. Nice crowd and we had a good time being outside in the lightly falling snow and cold air. I will post some pictures and tell about it in General Talk a bit later on here.

Ava, sorry to hear that all is not well in paradise, but I'm sure once you meet with the manager, it will turn out finr

So I am off to wash my hair and get this morning going. Not sure at this point if I am going out or not. Might skip church. Driving in this kind of cold is okay as long as one doesn't slide off the road into a ditch or something. Our weather forecaster was talking about the freezing point of different things last night and one of the things he said was that 5W-30 motor oil freezes at -30. Interesting.

Keep warm all.

It's the first (official) day of the FL GTG and temps are below freezing, frost all over the car. Planning a big campfire for tonight with warm chili at my site # 53. No particular time, come by when you're all set up. I think this is the coldest day predicted for the week though, at least we can hope so. If the pre GTG gatherings are a sample, we're going to laugh a lot, no matter what the weather is. I'll have a little map for everyone showing who's in which sites. Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Never got to Walmart last night, so will make a quick run this morning before people start arriving.

Morning Sue and Ladies....

It's also cold cold cold here. When I came home last night from friend's house, it was 17. When I woke up at 0600, it was 9 degrees according to the local TV news! This is truly ridiculous--this is central VA, not the North East.

I took Foo Foo over to a friend's house yesterday to show her off. I was able to get her level and then open all the slides. They were all amazed at the amout of room. And I may have gotten one of the ladies thinking seriously about going RV shopping with her hubby. She has promised to go out with me this spring to one or two of our local VA parks and help me with the shakedown runs. Mostly the group was impressed that I knew where all the switches were; I even managed to open the right doors when showing the water, sewer outlet, gennie, and propane. Having not actually used the rig, I am always forgetting what's behind which door. :?

The driveway continues to be a real drag--literally. My wonderful neighbor came out and helped me get out and into the driveway. We had to use the big board plus a couple of pieces of plywood so as not to drag on the ginnie tailpipe! We're going to try to build some sort of bridge in the next week or two so I can actually get in and out by myself. I took the rig over to their house at about 3:30, but not wanting to try to get Foo Foo in the driveway after dark, I drove her home at about 5:00 and returned to the party in my car.

One of the guys at the party worked up a Powerpoint presentation for me with pictures of Foo Foo...I won't give away the theme at this point cuz it was way too funny. I'll take the pics off the PP presentation and post them. Very very funny!

Gotta go check out the FL GTG pics and get the laundry started. It's Playoff day...will cheer for the Bears for Mitch, and for the Steelers for other friends. I'm ambivalent really, but it's the playoffs--gotta get my football fix!! :D :D

Try to stay warm if you are caught in the cold; if not, go outside and get some sun/vitamin D for the rest of us! :) :) And for all of you in FL at the GTG, continue to have fun, take pictures, and get 'em posted!!! Looks like you're having a blast!

good morning ladies,
trying to get my wake-up on :D but its cold and I have no idea what the temps are,
probably freezing, at least it feels like it. Coffee is trying to warm me up and I sent
the girls back to bed so I didn't have to watch them shiver and shake :D
Will get busy here in a few to toss a load of laundry in, walked to the back of the
courtyard yesterday to locate the laundry room. Just two washers and two dryers.
Called the landlord yesterday, will meet with him tomorrow at 10. Hoping all goes
well.
Off to catch up on posts and email and then one more cup of coffee and I'll be ready
to get started on the laundry.
Have fun, stay warm and be safe. A big hug for everyone today.

Good Morning,

It sounds like Michigan and Chicago are having similar weather but with the Sun shining it seems nicer than it is!

I did get my tour of the RV done yesterday and I posted the link up on the "Show odd your Rigs" part of the forum, if you want to see what my vista looks like on the inside....I just did one take and realize now I should have included some other things, but the new little video camera is very cool and once I figured out how to load the video and how long it took, I will be able to do future (shorter) videos much quicker.

I am still loading and clearing, and throwing away and selling things...and the pile is still pretty high! My girlfriend is coming over later today to watch the Bears game with me, so we will have some fun. She will be joining me for the Habitat build in North Carolina later on, so I won't see her til then after today.

The gtg seems like so much fun! It is so good to be with others and have a really nice time, where you don't want to leave and can't wait to do it all again! I will miss some of my friends as I travel, but I am looking forward to gtg with new friends and catching up with those still here whenever we can...

Have a greta day and Go Bears!!

It is a good morning here in Silver River St Park... a bit cool but the temp is rising as I write... I have coffee, grapefruit juice white unsweetened and raisin toast... it is good... today the other campers will begin coming... it will be a great day... the pre GTG has been so fun... however my intentions were to fix up Bright Hope and make her ready for the GTG walk through... maybe today I can do that after I fully wake up...
I hope your day is just half as good as ours is and you will be smiling from ear to ear...
Take care all,

Good morning gals! :D Sorry to hear how cold it is everywhere :( This week is notoriously the coldest week of the winter in Minnesota, so this weather is right on schedule there! I sure don't miss all that! It is 67 here right now going up to 74 later. :D

Going in to work soon and then I have tomorrow off. Will spend tomorrow getting caught up on bills, cleaning, returning library books, etc. Also need to get my pics posted of my trip and also of my hike from last week. Have them all uploaded on photobucket now, so just need to post them on my blog for you all to see.

Sounds like the FL GTG is just about in full swing, or should be by tonight! Am hoping I can get there next year! My girlfriend lives not too far from there so I can stay with her and then just visit for a day or so at the GTG.

I am laughing at my cat right now! She just finished giving herself a bath and is now giving her bed a bath! She has a round fuzzy bed she always lays in next to me on my bed, and I guess she thinks it needs to be cleaned as well! She's so funny!

Guess I better get up and ready for work soon. Will be a short day, 5 hours. Probably won't be too busy this afternoon with the football games on tho. Maybe some football widows and their children stopping in.

Have a good one! Keep warm! And "Go Packers!" (Sorry Mitch! )
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

HELLO SISTAHS!!!

Dang diggy dog it!!! Was gonna post before noon and got carried away reading GTG posts!! grrrr

WOW ya'll are having a blast down there!!!! Waaaaa  we're not there!!! Boy for sure keep the pictures a posting! I loved the of Tina telling a story and cracking Nan up. Careful Nan laughing that hard might strain something!  Looked like for sure one of those laughing stories that make ya glad the bathrooms not to far away. ;)

I sure do envy ya'll being together and having all that fun. ~sigh~ Maybe next year?

Not much going on here, just the same old, same old. So I will get out of the morning coffee postings and go do some more reading and catching up.

Have a super great day everyone. Be safe, laugh long and loud, just make sure you can make it to the potty and keep extra tissues in your pockets for the tears of mirth!!!

Love to all
