ANOTHER WINTER DAY

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

ANOTHER WINTER DAY

Postby Colliemom » Sat Jan 22, 2011 8:05 am

Good Morning All,

Just another winter day here in northern Michigan. Little light snow and temp around 5 degrees.
Going to be a cold weekend here but warming up to normal after Sunday again. Always the coldest tme of the winter about now. International Fall, MN was at - 46 yesterday, so I am not going to complain about a measly 5 degrees. However, the forecasters are saying that with another front comng thrugh today, it might get really cold. Areas that do clear out tonight, may see lows of -20 to -30. It has been a long time since I have seen lows like that, but I remember one Christmas week in the 70's when it was -32.

Been noticing in the various posts that nobody seems to have much to post these days. Guess we are all getting into the "rut" of winter, just doing our mundane things of life from day to day. Kind of a holding pattern waiting for spring and the time to jump into or hook up our RV's and hit the road again. But maybe we will get some juicy dope from those at the FL GTG!

Not sure what I will be doing today. Might go into town for some paint to finish that door frame or might not. Definitely going to finish that scrapbook. Hw ong have I been saying that There is going to be a little party at the park this afternoon, some staff and friends gathering for a mid winter socializing. Gonna be cold. Utilizing our Activities Bldg and buiding a fire outside to roast hot dogs and whatever. Might go over and see whats going on and visit for a bit. Otherwise same old, same old.

I'll be hitting the road later today and am really looking forward to it. Don't know why, but when that diesel engine fires up, the biggest and probably dumbest looking smile from ear to ear pops on my face. It doesn't disappear for the first hundred miles... weather depending that is. My rv has no dash heat. Its on a repair list for later this year.

So when it hits the twenties tonight in Florida.. that smile might not be with me.

Stay safe and warm everyone....

Good morning Sue, Alice & everyone! I feel the same way Alice, when I start off on a trip. Soos and I are up and playing on the internet. The sun is shining and there's a little chill in the air, but not too bad yet. Don't know what the plans are for today, other than a last minute grocery run for fresh veggies and a couple other things. Roe is always ready for a hike, so that'll probably happen sometime. Looking forward to the arrival of all who are coming tomorrow. Posted a few pics in the GTG thread from last night.

More later in the GTG thread.

GOOD MORNING, SUE, AND ALL!

It has dawned clear-skied and sunny and a bit cool, but not bad....about 40 something. Liz and I are sharing her wimifimiwi thingy, and I was reading up on the birth of Lily's two new bear cubs yesterday! I missed the first birth, but am pretty sure I saw and heard the second cub being born, just after Kathleen arived here. Their teeny little cub screams and nursing sounds were music to my ears. So far, all is quiet in the den this morning, including Hope, who seems to be unusually quiet. I wonder if instinct and milennia of experiences will kick in and she will realize she is no longer number one cub with Mama? It is so amazing to be able to watch what is going on in a wild black bear den.

Liz's lasagna dinner was so good last night, and it was great fun chatting with Kath, Tina, Sarah, Liz, and Liz's neighbor, Joselyn. We also had a dog GTG, with three of Tina's, including Herschel, Kath's Shadow, Molly and the host dog, Roe. It was like a kennel, and everyone got along just fine. What a fun time!

This will be short as I want to get outside and go for another walk, after I get dressed and get my stuffed lungs cleared and moving.

Hope you all have a good day....back to watch Lily for a while!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

good morning ladies,
cold right now but it will warm up as the day moves on.
All is not as it seems here in paradise, seems DS told a few fibs (to mom) and I'll have
to meet with his landlord today to straighten out some rent issues. Pray for us that it
will all go well and we can come to some sort of agreement as I don't have the time
or energy to move again. I spoke with the landlord a few days ago and he did not
mention there were any issues, wish he had. (but then I didn't think to ask either)
Also have a mandatory meeting at 10 at the second job, don't know how long it will
last. Also on the schedule for 4:30 to 8:30 this evening.
Need to make a new pot of coffee, whoever made the current pot made it a tad week
and its just not waking me up. Off to get started, and catch up a little on posts and
my email. Enjoy your day and I'm looking forward to reading up on the gtg later on.
Be warm and be safe.

Good Morning,

Sounds like wonderful Lasagna get together, and even the hot dogs later today beats our snow covered freezing city!

Alice, my dash heat is not working either, and I made an appointment for this morning to get it fixed, yet again, but
this morning it is snowing hard and the RV place is an hour away, so i will go back to work around here and hopefully get it done next week, only one more weekend left before I take off!

I got about 95 percent of my stuff loaded into the RV yesterday, and spent a few hours getting it all arranged. I had a crockpot years ago, but have not bought a new one since that one quit working, well, as luck would have it I won a crockpot at my son's bowling match last weekend, (I was going to buy one) and I was worried where it would fit, so I unpacked it from the box and I was impressed, it seems perfect! It came with a band which holds the lid on securely so it won't rattle or get broken. It is oblong and slid into the open corner of the upper cabinet just barely! I was so excited by thisI It is now snug in there, and I will be able to use electricity to cook instead of LP if need be! ...little things make me happy!

I liked reading how some of you get that goofy grin on your face as you get in the RV to get going, I thought I was the only one! I told my daughter about that a few weeks ago and she insinuated I might be a bit looney, guess she just doesn't get it!

OK, coffee then to the video of the inside of the RV and some of our falling snow as well. Hope everyone has a terrific day, and seriously, those hot dogs over a fire sound wonderful!!

Good Morning Sue, Alice, Liz, Soos, Ava and Lj, hope that is all of the early risers... I am not dressed as I am waiting to see if the water heater makes it to hot without the overflow spilling out... I did get a new part but the RV service said 9 to 10 it would not be needed... so I put the old one on after draining the tank... he said most likely it was a bubble of air in the tank... so followed his instructions... now I will go out and see if it is leaking...
Oh yes we had a great time at Liz's home yesterday... the dogs were the best... no fighting at all... whew that is a relief for sure... I had met everyone before except Soos... and she is just the same as I had pictured her... wish you could all join us...
Have a great day and smile often I know we will...
Kathleen
SO GLAD I COPIED THIS ONE AS IT WENT AWAY... MUST BE SPARKLE AGAIN WORKING HER ANTICS....

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Was gonna post that first thing I got in here this morning but got badly sidetracked. Was looking at GTG pictures! ~sigh~ Ya'll are having way to much fun in FL without us!! We are super hoping we can make it next year. If we do I doubt we will bring the trailer? More than likely will probably rent a cabin there at the park. That way we will have hot inside showers which everyone can enjoy if interested and of course we could have the big pot luck there too.

Weather here has been great for the past week. Mr Sun has been doing his job admirably. Today it's says 50 out there but it's a tiny bit chilly as there is quite a bit of cloud cover so Mr Sun hasn't shown his face much. Maybe he tasted Soos recipe while he was in FL and being to bright today is bothering his eyes???

Went and got groceries yesterday. Shopped as careful as we could and did pretty good too. Brought lots of goodies home. And after all that, nothing got cooked for supper. I ate frosted mini wheat for my supper! Neither one of us felt like cooking.... This morning I put a huge pork roast in the crockpot for tonight. Haven't gotten a whiff of it yet but it's still early in the cooking. Will probably start going nuts from the aroma here shortly. ;)

Well I think I will go do some more reading and catching up. Ya'll have a great day and be safe too!

MORE PICTURES PLEASE!!!

Love to all
