FL GTG, January 2011

Let's get together!

Wouldn't it be cool if we could all get on Skype with all of the GTGers? I love that park and area...especially kayaking! Watch out for the gators. I remember seeing several, but think they were all babies. Sure wish I could join you all! I really hope I can spend next winter in FL. They're due for a warmer winter ;)

Mitch-- have you checked the weather lately. Just checked and they are forecasting highs in the 70's for most of the week and lows in 40s and 50s. Do you think that George could tolerate that?? Would love to have you decide to come.

Only 9 days left to the FL GTG! So much to do....

Wanted to let you know that there will be cars available to help shuffle people & stuff to the cabin on Monday & Tuesday. I'll have my car there, and others that have cars I'm sure will be willing to help.

A reminder for those coming to the cabin: No dogs are allowed in or around the cabins. If that is a concern, let me know and arrangements can be made to leave a dog in my rig or my house in Ocala while we are at the cabin.

Wishing everyone safe travels. :D

I guess I'm the first and I hope only one to post my regrets...must cancel out on the FLGTG :( I have made many trips in mid Jan to Gulf Shores and rarely was there anything more than an occasional cold rain..this last storm delayed my leaving and then an appt which was Feb 6 and manageable was changed to Jan 31. I knew with this I had no choice. Just this week I found out a girl I know through square dancing strikes out on her own several times per year. We are planning some trips together now. Both of us have small mhs.
Re this forum I honestly don't know what I did before I spent 15 minutes at least each morning reading, laughing  and sometimes crying  I don't always have an input but I always say a prayer..that I can always do for my new friends all over this great country.
I'm sad that this trip won't come to fruition for me but I'll always post a planned trip in the hope of meeting up with some of you along the way.

Wow, I'm really disappointed. I was so looking forward to meeting you. Guess that will have to happen at a later date. I'm sorry it didn't work out, but I also understand that things happen. Glad you have found someone to plan travel adventures with.

I'm sorry I won't be seeing you at this gtg, also, but certainly understand that sometimes things are out of our control. Will look forward to the time we do get together - whenever/where ever.

Good morning Everybody,

I'm heading out tomorrow morning at 9:00 am. Yeah! I am very excited and nervous at the same time. I will be caravaning with a friend on the trip down and we are taking our time. We are going to meet up with Li Lammert at the Cracker Barrel in Chester, VA and overnight with Lori and Ernie in Georgia. The weather forecast looks pretty good right now, with Tuesday being iffy, but we're taking it slow. I had to laugh when a friend pointed out that we're taking 5 days to do a 20 hour trip.

A different friend, Nancy Rausch who lives in Florida, will be coming to the GTG with me. See you soon.

Well Sistahs, we are gonna have to tell you that we aren't gonna make it. :( Jim has a sister whose health has taken a turn for the worse and we feel we need to stay closer to home. I can't tell you how much I am going to miss meeting with the new people and connecting with old friends. Maybe next time.

So sorry, Marslet. We'll miss you, and some will miss that alligator p.

Peggy, I'm wishing you safe travels. Looking forward to meeting you. Weather is supposed to be back in the 70's this week. Let's hope it'll stay that way thru the gtg.

Well, I am really sorry that 'Marslet' and 'Travelinana' and Mitch are not going to make the GTG. We will certainly miss you, but we will be expecting to meet up with you again later down the road.

Yakn1, I did make it and sure missed your caravaning behind and in front of me. Next time you gotta go to. Hoping your new trailer search ends up positive soon, so you can test it.

Peggy please be safe on your journey and I look forward to meeting you in FL.

Can you tell I'm green with envy? But I'm so happy I'll meet Peggy and her travel mate here in VA. Looking forward to having a teeny-tiny GTG here in Chester, VA! :D
